TITLE: First Family (1/1)

SUMMARY: It’s not as if Killian Jones believes his husband to be incapable of winning the presidency (quite the opposite, actually)─he’s just not entirely certain he wants him to. A CC 2020 Election AU. (Ao3)

NOTES: This particular story is meant to be entirely cute and in celebration of the prospect of having a “First Gentleman” (see recent Time magazine cover). It is not at all meant to be an endorsement of any one candidate, and if you come at me with anything other than love for these two boys and their dog, I will unhinge my jaw and swallow you whole. I developed Jasmine’s last name from a princess who appeared in The Book of One Thousand and One Nights (on whom Jasmine is based, or so Wikipedia tells me). Oh, and another small disclaimer, this is the first time I’ve included Emma Swan in a Captain Charming fic. For whatever reason I used to struggle with including her, but I guess I’m over it because she’s here now. If you think that’ll bother you then give this one a miss!

It gets more difficult to hold on to herself, more difficult not to rush at him and let him hold her. Not when he speaks like this, not when his every we and our feels true. Like he knows what they are going through, like he knows what she is going through.

She wants to hate him. She knows that she should hate him and rightly so. He is the enemy after all.

"So, tonight friends, I will try to give you a glimpse of what awaits us all when this is over. For the light and the joy and the laughter so that those who think that they have lost it may remember and so that those who have it may grow stronger."

But how could she?

She loves him. It is as simple and as devastating as that.

He turns back to her then, his eyes shining behind his mask, his smile a little shaky as he takes a deep breath.

"Let us Begin."

And so, Killian Jones, King of Camelot begins his tale.

Sorry I haven’t been able to chat too much - and for the comma and probably nonsense laden story ahead of you. You’re a darling Tessa, and I wish you and yours the most wonderful festive season and year to come.

Here’s almost 3k of rebellious teenagers for you. Love you.

The midsummer sun catches on the gold of her hair as it streams out behind her, her laughter wild and louder even than the thundering hooves of her horse as they gallop across the wildflower meadow, soil and buttercups thrown up in clouds in their wake.

She’s beautiful. The most beautiful girl - woman - in the realm. And any other man would be delighted to be the one chasing after her, to be the reason she turns at the brow of the hill, her figure silhouetted against the sunlight.

“Aren’t you coming?” she calls, and he kicks his own horse on, his knuckles white against the unfamiliar leather of the bridle.

Any other man. But not him. Not when he’s the one who has to face the Queen’s disappointed glare, the Prince’s scowl. The one expected to control the uncontrollable.

“Your Highness!” he bellows, sliding uncomfortably in the saddle as his horse stumbles in the divots she’s left behind. “You must come back! You must - “

“You’re no fun, Captain!” she calls again, all laughter as she turns in a tight circle. “Come on!”

“No!” He groans miserably as his horse shies at nothing and longs for the stability of a ship in a storm. “Your parents insist, Princess. You must return with me at once.”

He sees the moment she gives in, the droop in her shoulders, the way she lets her reins rest slack against the pure white mane of her mount before sitting up straight and trotting back down the hill towards him with all the grace and sensibility of her mother the Queen.

“Well?” she asks as she passes him, her eyes twinkling despite the pout of her lips. “What are you waiting for?”

He stares after her retreating form, at the regal way she holds herself even with her cream cape stained with grass and the mud of the forest, at the effortless way she moves at one with the infernal beast below her.

“Retirement,” Captain Liam Jones grumbles. “And it can’t come quick enough.”

Captain Swan AU - The Power Within

When Emma bought her house, the last thing she expected to find in it was a pirate cursed to spend an eternity trapped in a mirror. After spending some time talking to Killian she decided to help him. The only problem was that her magic went haywire as soon as she got close to the house. 

It took her weeks to get her magic to work, but after several failed attempts she freed Killian form his prison. 

Emma thought once he was free Killian would want to leave, but he proved her wrong choosing to stay with her.
