Some people I think Daydream would really like:

XToriel, specifically in Underveres 0.8 Part 1. Making a fake reality so people can be happy, while ignoring all the sad parts of life? Hell yeah, that's like his whole thing.

Jevil: He's just playing a game, and he's having a lot of fun too! Not to mention, if Daydream is around, everyone he's playing will be having a great time too!

Bill Cipher (For a little bit): I think Daydream would conceptually really like weirdmageddon, but end up kind of annoyed with the whole thing. He would love the idea of rewriting reality to be whatever you want for an endless party, the problem would come with Bill's sadism. Because then the people Bill is hurting are suffering, and Daydream obviously doesn't like that. Plus, I feel like Bill would get very tired of Daydream quickly.

Had a dream today that there was a children's book either about or featuring the Bad Sanses. I only remember seeing Nightmare, Horror, and Dust

All 3 were standing in some kind of castle area, maybe the inner ring where a town would have been, looking up at this beige looking castle. Neither Dust or Nightmare did anything to my knowledge, asides from stare up, but Horror was carrying some kind of tentacle on his back, and I think it might have been stuck to his axe, or some kind of harpoon. It was intentional, but I don't remember why.

The only other detail I remember, asides from vaguely knowing what the cover looked like and that (For some reason) I found it at this cross between like... a Nintendo Direct and a scholastic book fair, with a shit ton of plushies and cakes of various Mettatons for some reason, was that the main character was this little human girl who I think was supposed to be the reader stand-in. And I think she was given Dream's power or smth to keep balance or to fight Nightmare. Except the little circlet thing she got that looked like Dream had had a gold and a purple half, so I'm not totally sure what that was about.

This was also the most vivid dream I've had in a long, long time.

As a bonus, the Mario hat is also a very clear indicator to my housemates that business is getting done, and they have learned not to distract me when I'm wearing the "goofy-ass cosplay hat"

fav dusttale personal interpretation? as in how u view a dust sans, not the overall AU since that'd include dr megalo. as in, is ur interpretation similar to evans? to stretch's? to canon murder? or is it unique? basically how u view dust and his looks/mannerisms. does he have glowing coloured eyes or is he white pupiled? does he wear a hood or not? is he downbeat 24/7 or not?

Ohhhh now that's a interesting question, and one that might make me many enemies... I like it, let's do it!

Ok, so, basically, the way I see it, is, as with many if not most Sans AUs (With some plausible exceptions, such as Swap, Cross, Ink, Error, Killer, etc) they should have the basic template of Sans. Yes, they've gone through events that change them a lot, but they are still the same person at their core, their entire personality isn't going to change because of tragedy.

So, bearing that in mind, I actually like a lot of what the canon has to say about his character. To my understanding, the canon *does* do something similar in keeping his personality, human-not-withstanding, very much like Sans. He has white pupils when relaxed and not fighting or using magic, he still cracks jokes, he feels horribly guilty over what he's done, and (And correct me if I'm wrong) but I've heard that in canon it's at least a possibility that he helps Core out in the Omega Timeline, as a form of repentance. And I really like that.

On the flip side, there are aspects of fanon that I really enjoy too. I think yeah, he would be pretty miserable a lot of the time, I do think he would keep his hood up, and keep Papyrus's scarf (That last one is a lot more optional, but I have nothing against it), and in a situation where he was forced to work for someone like Nightmare, I love interpretations where he's a bitch the whole time and is very maliciously compliant and tries to run whenever he can. I also enjoy him turning to things like cigarettes or alcohol as a bad coping mechanism, I think it fits pretty well.

As for the events of the actual AU, I do like what the canon has, it's simple and it works well, *However*, there are alternate versions of events that I also really like. I love interpretations that have Sans take action as soon as possible, fighting you wherever and whenever. What I mean by this isn't just having a Sans fight for each area, but rather having him block off paths, lay traps, chase you like Undyne, stuff like that.

I've also seen versions where he pretends everything is normal for a while to catch you off-guard (I don't quite remember what it was, but there was one like this that really caught my interest) and I really like that because it plays into Sans' knowledge of you, as the player, and what you're like. If you know that something has changed, you'll be encouraged, and scour after it. But if you don't know, he can lull you into a comfortable unawareness, until he's finally done what he needs to in order to combat you. By the time you realize what's wrong, it'll have been too late.

I have more thoughts, ideas and details I like, but it should be said, I do like most Dusttale interpretations. I really value what they bring to the table, and what the unique ideas they have and the spins they put on things.

For Dust himself, as a character, particularly outside of his own universe, I'm a bit more picky. In universe, I'm far more willing to excuse being edgy and menacing, he does, quite reasonably, hate you a LOT afterall. But out of universe, in a situation without a human, where he isn't being made to work for Nightmare (The like... 2 works like that that exist lmao) I think his past self as Sans should really shine through. Also, I really am NOT a fan of the interpretations that make him this crazy, LV fueled sadistic serial killer sterotype (*cough* Evan's Dusttale *cough*). He is, yet again, still Sans, and he's not exactly happy about what he's doing and how things are going.

But yeah, that's the gist of it. Feel free to correct me if I got something wrong, or to tell me about other takes on Dusttale, or ideas for Dust/Murder's character you like (Also love calling him Murder. Honestly prefer it, I'm just more used to calling him Dust because everyone does. They're almost two different people in my mind kind of. Murder being more canon accurate, and like what I described, Dust being the traditional one you see in like... Bad Sans Gang stuff)

Also, followup to this, let him be goofy. Like Fell Papyrus, (And believe me I still have thoughts on him too) He's still Sans at his core. They've just had to grow tougher skin to survive this harsher world, and it's taken its toll on them, but it's still Sans.

Let him do some trolling, tell some bad jokes, let him laugh with alternate versions of himself instead of thinking they're "stupid" or "soft" or whatever.
