Legionnaire Secundus of the Alpha Legion To be used as a Master of Signals/Tactical Legionnaire in 30k and CSM in 40k.
Here we have the first truly completed Tactical of my upcoming trio of Veteran Squads, the Hysminai, and standing beside him is a Grey Knight Terminator used for height demonstration purposes. Being that this is the first true-scale model I have tried my hand at producing using the method found here, I felt it necessary to show off how much of a difference it actually makes without requiring additional bits from other sets. Anyway, that’s all I’ve got for now. Next one up will be Armillus Dynat, Harrowmaster of the Alpha Legion!

Blessed Son of the Alpha Legion To be used as a Gal Vorbak in 30k and a Mutilator in 40k.
Took a bit longer than I would’ve hoped, but here you have the first of the Makhai to come. I’m really intending to make the most of the ‘Children of Eris’ aspect of the Alpha Legion.
Here, the Makhai are the Alpha Legionnaires willingly possessed by daemonic entities through the ritualistic practices of captured Word Bearers. They are often tasked with protecting their commanding officers to the last, their warp-empowered physiology lending to their already fearsome capability in combat as Chosen of the XX Legion.

Just a heads up, for those curious as to what progress I've made. The short answer is none, but it's been due to my decision to start true-scaling all 60 of my Tacticals/Tactical-equivalents. I'm currently in the process of waiting for plasticard, green stuff, and some other hobby tools to arrive before I can get back into the swing of things, so until then, I'll be working on less convertable minis like Arnillus Dynat, some Gal Vorbak, and a couple Rapier Batteries. Progress pics soon, I promise!

Anyone who's seen the Alpha Legion's title page in the Horus Heresy ruleblooks has probably seen that one of the many names they have gone by is "Children of Eris," which I've now nabbed for my custom chapter's (or harrow's) personal use. Curious at first, I did some research on who this goddess was, and it's become pretty clear as to why the Alpha Legion operated under this name for the time that they did. Eris certainly had a large number of children, all of which represented a myriad of harmful or otherwise negative doings (manslaughter, lies, combat, war, ruin, etc.) and I have to say I'm REALLY glad I spent part of my morning doing this research, cause I'll be damned if this isn't incredibly thematic. I also looked around, almost desperate to find meaning in Autilon Skorr's name as he's definitely one of my favorites, and boy did I find something big. Skorr's last name seems like it could be a bastardized anagram of Cor Serpentis, taking the first letter of Serpentis and just slapping it in front of Cor (or Korr, here), which originally translates to 'Heart of the Serpent', which fits rather well with his stubborn perseverance and callous disregard for his allies, of which the Legion as a whole has quite a reputation for. At this points it's almost needless to say, but I really love this, and all I can say is thanks to FW for bestowing this gem upon my favorite Legion.
