Blue Christ Church
A few years ago we stood infront of a closed up church, but last weekend we got lucky and were able to finally visit the Blue Christ Church. The church got its name because of the big blue cross hanging in the front of the church.
The first thing you notice when stepping inside is the horrible smell of a mixture of pigeon poo, pee and decaying pigeons. I put my mask on, which didn't help with the smell at all and got to exploring. Apparently i wasn't the only one who waited for a chance to visit the church because it was packed, for an abandoned place, with other urban explorers. We gave eachother the time and room to shoot our pictures and talked to a few explorers for a bit. I didn't stay for too long, but i'm still pretty pleased with the shots i have.

Unfortunately we don't always manage to get inside, but i still love seeing the buildings being taken over by nature.

An abandoned sanatorium somewhere in Belgium. It's been trashed over the years and it's only getting worse which is such a shame. It's such a beautiful building and the view from the tower is phenomenal.

Abandoned Swimming Pool
This is one of those locations i've known about for some time, but was hesitant to visit. The main reason is that it's in the middle of a busy area and the neighbours keep an eye on the building. So with that in mind we decided to go anyway. I mean, after 7 years of exploring i've experienced most things by now.. right?
At 6:30 in the morning we headed to the ferry. It was a gloomy and rainy day, but according to the weather forecast it would clear up around noon. When we arrived at the terminal, we parked the car on the ferry and enjoyed the ferry ride. After 45 minutes we arrived on the island and made our way to the abandoned swimming pool.
We walked around the building and found an entrance. We did see a few people around, but it seemed like they hadn't seen us. We quickly made our way inside and we found us standing in the middle of the main area of the building where the pools where. The real eyecatcher was the big green slide that took up most of the space. While the rest of the group walked up the slide, i took some photos. At this point i felt more at ease.
I had taken my photos of the pools when i wanted to walk up the slide myself aswell. I walked towards the opening when i heard a voice shouting "Police! Show yourself!". Shit, we got caught. We packed our bags and stepped outside where the police were waiting on us. They wrote down our information and gave us a €100 fine each. After they had all our information and statement, they walked us of the property.
I know this is one of the risks of urban exploring and is always in the back of my mind while exploring. After 7 years of being lucky i got my first fine. The only thing i regret is not having walked up the slide.

Well, things don't always go as planned. We explored an abandoned swimming pool and got a visit from the police and a €100 fine each.. Even though this isn't the first time i got caught, this is the first time i got a fine.
#urbexlife i guess 😅

Abandoned Factory
This was a great find by a friend of mine and since we were in the area we decided to take a look.
At first it didn't look to promising. All the possible entryways were barricaded with huge concrete blocks. We decided to do a quick walk around and soon we spotted a hole in the roof big enough to climb through. After checking if there was something inside we could climb down from, we smoothly made our way inside.
Although there wasn't too much to see, it was still a fun explore. There were remains of something that looked like a lab, an office and a workshop.

If there are no open doors or broken windows, try the roof :)

I get your point and do agree that these two communities need these places to thrive, but i rather have nature take the place back than it being smashed to pieces or in this case covered in graffiti.
In the end we can't do a lot about it other then keeping to ourselves and our own business and just experience the place and take our photos. It's just horrible to see such an amazing place in this state and it probably will change peoples experience when visiting.
Vandalism & urbex
I don't want and like to spread negativity, but i feel like i need to share this to show people why we don't share locations.
Many people new to urbex often think that we are gatekeeping locations by not wanting to share them, but there is a reason why we don't share locations. Although many urban explorers have good intentions and just want to visit the place to take photos, see the place for themselves and experience a part of history or learn about the stories behind these locations, there is also a group of people who go to vandalize the place. Smash windows, litteraly turn the whole place upside down and.. spray graffiti. Now don't get me wrong, graffiti can be beautiful and can be a form of art, but not in these places, which often holds a lot of history. In this case it's vandalism.
Now why do i bring this up? In the last few days we got the news that one of the ultimate dream locations of many urban explorers was vandalized. The now indentified individual, sprayed graffiti on the Buran Spaceships. For those not familiar with this location, this is what they looked like (cr: gregabandoned & lanasator):

And this is what they look like now:

Ofcourse vandalism is nothing new and it happens all the time at these abandoned places, but a notorious place like this loved by many urban explorers being vandalized really angered the urbex community. That doesn't mean that it's okay to vandalize other locations btw, because it isn't.
We always stay true to our motto ''Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints'' regardless of the size or "importance" of the location. And thus, we ask everyone to do the same. To respect the place and preserve history.

Abandoned factory and offices
Today we hit the road again and this time we visited an abandoned factory with offices.
I've seen this location come by on my instagram feed a few times now and was determined to find the address. After zooming in on blurry logos and inspecting every photo i could find of this place, i finally had a breakthrough while watching a youtube video about this location from another urban explorer. I immediately picked up my phone and texted a few friends. We set a date and we were finally able to see this place with our own eyes.
When we arrived, we immediately headed to the entrance i saw in the video. We climbed through the broken window and found ourselves standing in the huge factory hall. We walked around for some time and after we had all our pictures, we made our way inside the main building where the offices were. We started exploring from the top floor making our way back to the ground floor. One noticeable thing about this whole place were the hideous interior choices in the offices that, what we assumed, were for the CEO and other higher ups.
After walking around for about 3 hours we wrapped up our visit and shot our last photos.

Abandoned Church
It was a beautiful spring day when we headed to our first location of the day. An abandoned church somewhere in the Netherlands. I parked the car and we went on our way to find an entrance. We climbed through a broken window and we landed right between the benches. Even though the church was quite trashed, i was amazed to have found this kind of location in the Netherlands. Most of the time when tenants move out of the property or when a building gets abandoned, there are already plans to renovate or demolish the building, so to find buildings in this decaying state is quite rare. The church wasn’t that big compared to the churches i’ve visited in the past, but the place was still very photogenic. When i had all the pictures i wanted, we looked if there was a way to the second floor, but unfortunately we couldn’t find an entrance. When we were leaving through another broken window we found a suprise at the back of the church that had us amazed yet again. It was as if you’ve had set foot in Hogwarts. It even felt a bit magical and i would love to go back again in the summer when all the plants are wrapped around the pillars.
