Butcher x Sylvester, my beloved!!!
The coded letter revealing that Butcher is in town!! Sylvester saying the only scarlet thing he loves more than roses are Butcher's eyes!!!!
You like reuniting them and I love reading them reuniting. The way you write them is so beautiful and I need more, please and thank you!!
Million Scarlet Roses

Sylvester wasn't expecting much when the monthly letter from Adam finally reached him.
He merely glanced at the cheap, store bought paper and pocketed it on the way into the apartment, his dearly beloved kids in tow.
Ever the hyperactive one, Mary immediately started asking questions about what's written there, who it's from and if she can take a look at the pretty stamp in the top right corner. After reassuring her he'll show the girl the card when he's read it, Sylvester unlocked the door.
Samuel on the other hand stayed silent, just glad to be home after the school day.
"Daaaad," Mary whined, after kicking off her shoes and hanging her coat, "You promised!"
The pout was almost cute, and he caved in, pulling the envelope out of his back pocket, and opening it. He adjusted his glasses so he could read easier, a smile on his face as he saw the amount of pages carefully hand written and folded to fit.
After years of doing this, decoding the strange symbols on the paper was second nature to him. If Adam insists on secrecy for their own good, so be it.
"It's from your papa. He says he loves you," the lie came easy to him. Not like the girl knew any better. The delighted squeak made it worth it, as she hugged the graying man's leg.
"Tell him I miss him too! Please?" she looked at him with big brown eyes, a pout on her lips.
Smiling, he ruffled her thick curls, and nodded, before sending her off.
In actuality, the postcard was a direct love letter to Sylvester himself. It described how the Italian man missed him. How he yearned to see him once more, to hold him, to kiss him.
Adam wrote in great detail about the work is slowly wearing him down as well. He loves the job and the kid he's protecting, sure, but the lack of vacation days are wearing him thin. The man goes on to describe notable things he's done. Wanting his other half to know everything he's been up to, important or not. He just needed to tell him, even if trough a blasted piece of paper.
The bodyguard wrote paragraphs complaining about how he needs to hear Sylvester's voice. How he's terrified of forgetting the sound, and how, even in his dreams, his lover no longer sounds the same. In dreams, where the both are in bed together. Fantasies coming to life, only killed by the merciless reality of their situation when dawn comes once more.
Years are slowly wearing him down. The need is inescapable at this point. For both of them.
As Sylvester gets to the last page, there's only a few sentences scrawled down on the otherwise black piece of paper.
Simple instructions, which almost caused his stomach to flip. Eyes wide, he reread the sentence over and over and over again, disbelief clear on his face as dots connected in his mind.
Swallowing the lump in his throat, he singled the piece of paper out from the rest, holding it tightly.
Deep breaths calmed him down slowly.
"Kids, I'm going out for a little bit," he called out.
Almost instantly, Mary was at his side once more.
"Can I go with?" she pleaded, despite not even knowing where he's headed.
"Uh, no, sorry sweetheart. It's for grown ups only," he explained, voice wavering. It wasn't often he outright said no to her.
A low whine escaped her, but she relented.
"Okaaay, will you tell me about it when you're home?" she begged.
"... Fine," he caves once more, before again, shooing her off playfully to her room.
The trip to the car was quick and easy. He buckled the belt, running a hand trough his hair, sighing deeply, before starting the vehicle. The paper he was still holding is double and triple checked. He didn't even need the navigation to know where it lead.
A bar by the name of Onyx Magpie greets him after a short drive. Sylvester politely nods at the bouncer, Dominic, knowing the man from the fresh produce stall he mans at the market.
Sylvester isn't one for drinking anymore, especially not when he's driving as well. So, from the bartender who goes by Jasper, he merely gets a mocktail, before moving to a booth.
Still following instructions.
A single red rose sits in the vase on his table.
Mindlessly, he starts picking at it, inspecting the water, the petals, anything.
"If I knew you liked scarlet roses this much, I would have gotten you a million of them," a low, gravelly voice purrs in his ear. One he recognizes instantly.
Relief floods Sylvester, yet he can't help but flirt back, gazing up at the curly haired man, who's currently dressed in a mere white shirt and slacks.
"Only scarlet thing I love more than roses is your eyes, baby."
"Oh, do you now?" Adam smirks, before leaning down to capture his beloved in a hungry kiss. The taste of cigarettes is one both men share and revel in.
Sylvester can only hum in affirmation, too busy letting his eyes close and hands wander. The resulting, coy grin being the same one which has showed up in his dreams a few times too many to count.
He pulls back to whisper in the sitting man's ear.
"Good kitty."
Once the words are uttered, he returns to the kiss, wanting to use the limited time together they have to the absolute maximum. Next time isn't guaranteed, but tonight is.

theres a noticeable lack of you acknowledging me thinking kali is lailas other father.... hmmmmmm 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 what could that mean? /j
but yipee!! and aww. i love how laila adores sarabi dearly still. he deserves all the love he can get <3
have fun deciding who is the other dad. if it even ends up being plot relevant. my gut tells me no and that its a throwaway line that i wasnt even meant to look at too deeply </3
Oof, Idk why I didn't get a notification for this. Whoopsie.
Sarabi does deserve all the love he can get!!! He's the man that steps up!!
We shall see if it is plot relevant.

im now just remembering the fact that sylvester was, on a technicality, stones first romantic partner. so. there could be something fun done with that ending up being a lie in on itself.
not that it matters to anyone, especially not sylvester. i just like making stone uncomfortable and making him lie for no reason to see him squirm. maybe it was so bad he ended up blocking it out
(but... in my head, whenever i think of laila and sarabi, i think of them as being best fucking friends in the world and i couldnt tell you why. so. maybe the reason she likes him so much is also because he helped raise her besides kali, and then, yk, she saw him and stone date and accepted him as her 2nd dad... which quickly needed to be remedied and changed to "favorite uncle" instead or smth. idk. i jsut think laila would play favorites with her uncles, and that the uncle would be sarabi. because kali is already mom so he doesnt count, obviously /lh)
my brain is running on full. if need be, i can probably come up with more theories.
... if kali ends up being the dad im gonna go break something i feel tho. because imagine rohan being told to fuck off by his own biological father. wow.
Sarabi is Laila's favorite uncle. You know her so well. And yes, she did at one point be like "You're my second father" before Stone was like "Beta, I'm not ever dating Uncle Ivan."
...No one tell Stone that she still calls Sarabi "Papa" when no one else is around. And that he answers to it.
I will now be thinking about who I want to be Rohan's other father, but rest assured, it's definitely not Sarabi. Though Sarabi would've been the best choice because sure he didn't/doesn't want kids, but he would've stepped up!!

OH i thought rohan was forcibly taken away from stone (well, he was. but by kali)
i think i thought it would be something like stone being too poor to be able to raise rohan, especially after having laila, that rohan was just taken away
or maybe stone had like a first boyfriend and the guy kept rohan to himself after breaking up as a show of power over stone, only to end up ditching him in the end anyways
... i just had a fucking horrid theory. what if the other father is sarabi. i think i just have the wild west situationship of those two on my mind, so ignore me. (but it would be so fun if its true)
Tumblr media
^ also you cant do that to me. look at what youre doing to me. im just a little guy and youre hurting me so so badly because of this. how dare you /j
:)
Honestly, I am going back and forth over the details of Rohan's conception because well, do I want to kick Rohan while he's already down? And also Stone, I'd also be kicking Stone down.

oh no!! not the editing again </3 best of luck!!
i think im most excited to see how kali will react when he ends up seeing hawk pop up on the ranch, probably with rohan in tow in broad fucking daylight. not even stone. currently, kali is the star of the hit gameshow called "which oc should suffer next?" /silly
give that man the heart attack he rightfully deserves after being an ass to rohan like than smh
Kali does deserve the heart attack, mhm. And he's glaring at me for this but I mean, I personally saw no way Stone wouldn't have kept Rohan.
So someone had to be the bad guy.
I am curious as to what theories you had about why Rohan was put into the foster care system.

Oh, Rohan being seventeen is allowing me do something so delicious:
Tumblr media
I had to re-edit this (this is from The Search is on) to say sixteen instead of eighteen because well, now I've made him run away from the foster system. (He's still seventeen, but he had only ran away at sixteen.)
I just think it's so nice that Rohan and Stone were both away from home at sixteen and basically scrapping to get by at seventeen but only one of them chose to do that instead of being abandoned.

im now soooo excited to see how hawk ends up pulling this off with dragging rohan across the ocean and to the ranch
but oooooh how juicy it'd be if it also ends up ruining his and kalis friendship along the way,,, so much potential,,, i cant.
i love love love the way you write, because every time i read your works, i feel like a crazed conspiracy theorist slowly putting together the pieces to a puzzle, or in this case, a story, and its sooooo exciting!!!!!!!!
Thank you!! I'm just over here, beating up myself for using Mohandas' birth year instead of Rohan's to get Rohan's age. 😭
We're going to pretend like the story makes sense despite Rohan being actually seventeen instead of being twenty-one like I edited it to be. I now have to re-edit The Search is on. Sigh.
Anyways, I'm excited to see how Hawk ends up pulling this off too. It seems like he has friends who can help him pull this off.

I just realized I accidentally used Mohandas' birth year to get the age of Rohan instead of using Rohan's birth year. So uh, nope, Rohan is not twenty-one.

Almost Home... or Not
Rohan is finally willing to cooperate with me and I'm finally wanting to write something. So yay for him getting a third part to his journey to the ranch!
The Search is on and Help Me, Please are before this.
Word Count: 2,355
Tumblr media
It had taken Rohan two weeks to be able to go to the location Laila told him about so he could get help in coming over the UK, having needed to quit his job before he could go. Apparently, their father had a friend who knew someone who lived nearby and who would help him get to the UK.
Butterflies were flying rampant in Rohan's stomach as he got out of the cab he took to get to the little cottage. He had to pay extra just so the taxi would take him out so far into the woods but it would all be worth it soon.
Once the taxi drove away to get back into the city, he took a deep breath and started walking towards the front porch of the cottage. He stepped onto the porch, looking up at the dark red door that was a stark contrast to the yellow-ish white that was the color of the rest of the cottage.
Aside from the birds tweeting in trees far from Rohan's sight, the cozy atmosphere seemed undisturbed. It looked like a perfect spot to hide away from the noise and pollution of the city, and perhaps that was this was for the owner of the cottage.
He took in the sight around him, allowing the calming sounds of the breeze and the birds wash over him before he raised a hand to knock. His knuckles wrapped against the wood of the door and he waited with abated breath, his mind coming up with likely images of the cottage's owner.
He expected someone who was, to put it bluntly, a nature-loving hippie. However, he came face-to-face with a tall, scarred man who would've looked like he still was in the military if not for his curly black hair that flowed down his shoulders and stopped at his chest.
Unlike most of the men Laila had pictures with on her Instagram, this man had an easy-going smile on his face and kind brown eyes that shone in the sunlight. The claw marks on his right cheek really made him look scarier than the positive aura surrounding him did.
"You're Rohan, right?" the man asked, adding a sense of doubt to Rohan's previous impression of him being down-to-earth with his voice being chipper.
It was too chipper, like he was faking it for some reason or the other. That simple fact made Rohan on edge.
The man didn't notice Rohan's tense body language as he added, "You look just like your father. And I suppose your sister and uncle too. Ha, your grandfather's genes are strong as fuck it seems."
Rohan's eyebrows furrowed as he stared at the man, thankful that they were the same height at six-foot-four so he wouldn't have to look up at this strange man. "You know my father?" he asked, surprised.
Maybe his father liked the annoyingly happy people. It's not like he knew his father to begin with, all he had to go off of was vibes he got from looking at pictures of the man.
"I know your father alright; a son of a bitch is what he is. Oh! I've forgotten to tell you my name. I'm Raj. Come in, come in and please take off your shoes when you enter. There's a shoe rack you can put them on."
The man—Raj—stepped aside to let Rohan in. His mind seemed to be running a mile a minute as he soon stepped away from the door. He didn't say what he was doing, but he went into the kitchen, pushing open the double swinging door to walk inside.
Despite his reservations about being in the house of someone who didn't think highly of his father, Rohan stepped inside and closed the door behind him. He took off his shoes and placed them in the shoe rack.
He glanced at the wall that separated the kitchen from the living room, wishing he could see what Raj was doing there. Humming from the man came drifting into his ears, though he couldn't understand the lyrics due to them being in a different language.
It might've been Hindi.
Rohan was trying to learn the language through watching Bollywood movies, in case his family knew the language, but he still didn't know enough to actually recognize the language. It was disappointing not to know the language of his family, but being fostered by mostly-white families who only wanted the money over the years did not give him the time and resources to learn Hindi.
"I was told you could help me," he said, raising his voice just enough for Raj to hear. He tried to sound confident, but his nerves were showing.
He was so wrapped up in trying to get to the heart of why he was here that he was oblivious to the sounds of Raj softly talking to someone in the kitchen.
He took a look at a nearby picture of Raj and another man as he continued, "Laila told me you were willing to help me get to the UK."
"Actually, Laila didn't tell you that."
Rohan stepped backwards as soon as he heard this new man's voice, alarm bells ringing as he registered the unfamiliarity of said voice. His fear raised when the man stepped out of the kitchen, the man being so much taller than Raj and so much bigger.
The man in question also had curly long hair but it was slightly shorter as it stopped right at his shoulders and he had a huge scar going across his brown eyes that were framed by thick black glasses. This man was familiar, as Rohan had seen him in Laila's pictures and he had seen him just now in Raj's picture.
He must be the mutual friend between Raj and Rohan's father.
Rohan kept taking steps backwards until he hit the wall where the shoe rack was, cursing himself for not noticing there was someone else in the cottage. "What are you talking about? I've been conversing with Laila for weeks now."
"No, you haven't." The man shook his head and had the gall to raise his hands up to try and calm Rohan, as if this wasn't the weirdest situation ever. "You were talking to me."
"How?" The question lacked bite, but Rohan had no time to worry about that now. He didn't know if he was safe here or not.
The man gave him a small smile, trying to look nicer than he seemed in this moment. "I'm Ashok and I'm your father's best friend. I've been in Laila's life since she was just a toddler, so when she got your text, she went to me for help. I've been telling her what to type, to get you here so I could meet you."
Rohan's eyes narrowed at that, clearly not liking that answer. "Why? Why did you want to meet me?"
Everything about this seemed off to the younger man. He didn't like this, not one bit. But he also wanted answers, which meant staying to hear Ashok out.
"Because..." Ashok sighed, as if struggling to choose the right words. He shook his head, coming to a decision only he was privy to. "Because you can't go and meet your father, Stone. He can't see you."
"Why?" Rohan was now getting frustrated.
Getting answers out of this Ashok felt like pulling out teeth. He was half-tempted to just leave and get to the UK on his own, after all it had been his initial plan.
"Fuck you. My father is a grown man and he can decide for himself if he wants to see me or not."
Rohan turned on his heel, determined to walk out here and walk all the way back to the city if he couldn't get a taxi cab back. His hand was on the doorknob when Ashok spoke chilling words.
"Your father thinks you're dead."
Rohan whipped his head around to glare up at Ashok. "You're lying," he said with a growl.
Ashok stepped forward and forward until he was right in front of Rohan. He looked so much taller now that he was towering over the kid. "I'm not lying. I'm the one who told him you died."
Rohan was too frozen in place to ask why, to do anything other than stare at Ashok like a gaping fish gasping for breath. Ashok seemed to want this off his chest, however, as he kept going without getting a response from Rohan.
"You were conceived when Laila was four from a night with a man Stone never told me about and whom I never asked for the name of. I was never sure if it was..." He cleared his throat, seeming unable to go down the path his mind was taking him down. "It doesn't matter, what matters is that Stone was already struggling to parent Laila. He was not the man he is today, hell, he wasn't even half of the man he was when he married his husband. But he insisted on having you, despite me telling him I'd pay for the abortion. I told him I'd help with parenting you."
"But I knew he wouldn't be able to handle it, not with Laila and all of the paranoia that came with him having her. Again, he was not the man he is today and he had a lot of unresolved issues back then. So when there was a complication after the birth and you were taken away from your father's sight, I took the chance. We had already agreed I'd be listed as the other parent on your birth certificate, so all I had to do was tell the nurse that we wanted to put you up for adoption and tell your father you had died. He was too caught up in his grief to truly question it or really look at what he was signing. I was doing you a favor."
Rohan's mouth opened in a snarl at the words.
"Doing me a favor? I spent the last twenty years of my life thinking I was unwanted! My father could've raised me and instead, you meddled in something that wasn't even your business to begin with!"
Ashok's eyes narrowed, a blaze of anger in them. "It was my business, I was the one who would comfort Laila and take her to and from school because Stone was either too deep in the paranoia or he was away on deployments because he was running from himself. I'm the one who took care of them both before he got married and I didn't even ask that he call me his friend yet, much less ask for his gratitude. I did what I had to do to keep us both from drowning in his trauma and I will not stand here and be berated for choosing to spare you from seeing your father in a light that has already broken his daughter."
The older man pushed past Rohan to get to the door, forcing the younger man to go further into the cottage. He turned to face Rohan, staring into his eyes with weary eyes.
"Don't text Laila again, please." His voice was softer, like all of the anger had left him. "I told her that you were just lying to get attention and well, I'm the one she knows so think about that before you try and tell her otherwise. I hope you're well, Rohan, truly. But you are opening a can of worms you shouldn't if you go to the UK."
With those words said, Ashok turned back to the door and opened it, stepping outside. The conversation was finished, with Rohan having no chance of changing his mind.
The younger man processed every word of Ashok's, his mind running through it all to try and make sense of what was happening. The resentment he had initially felt at hearing he had a family out there came back, but now it was directed towards this man he didn't even truly know.
The man who changed his life without even getting to know him.
Tears spilled down Rohan's cheeks as he was unable to stop them. All he wanted to do was reunite with his family, to finally be surrounded by someone who actually loved him instead of someone who wanted to lie to him.
Yet, it seemed his father thought he was dead and his sister thought he was a fraud.
Rohan was too busy crying to notice Raj had come out of the kitchen and he jumped when the older man gave him several tissues to wipe his tears. He nodded his head in thanks, using the tissues to wipe his eyes and blow his nose.
"I'm so sorry about this entire situation, kid," Raj said, finally looking sincere with a more somber look on his face. He reached out as if to pat Rohan on the back before letting his hand drop before they could touch. "Do you still want to go? I can get you there."
Rohan sniffled, staring at Raj with confusion. "You'd help me? Why?"
Raj shrugged, looking away from Rohan to stare at a different picture. "No one should have to be forced to be away from their family and while I do think Stone is right old bastard, he deserves to know his son is alive. Also, I love Ashok, but screw what he thinks. He's still under the impression he has to keep taking care of Stone despite that not being the case. You're right, your father is a grown man who can handle himself. So, what do you say? You want to go meet your family?"
Rohan looked out at the window of the cottage. He took a few deep breaths, his nerves steeling as he kept thinking about that moment he'd meet his father. He had to do this, for himself.
He was tired of letting men like his ex-boyfriend make decisions for him. It was time he took his own story in his own hands.
"Yes. I want to meet my family."

This was more dialogue than anything, but shh. At least now we know the big plot twist that hopefully makes sense.
Raj is redeeming himself in my eyes by helping Rohan. So yay for that!!

This has now been edited to be compliant with the new timeline!!! Yay!!
The Search is on
I'm just going with the flow on this. Let's see who decided to be in my brain to help me write.
Word Count: 529
Tumblr media
Rohan ran through the forest, his heart pounding in his chest as he ran. He just needed to be anywhere but back there, he needed to run as far away as he possibly could.
His feet pounded against the ground, fear and desperation nipping at his heels. The voice of his now ex-boyfriend yelled behind him as a pair of footsteps followed it, making Rohan speed up.
He wasn't going to let his ex-boyfriend find him. Not when he was close to freedom.
He broke out of the forest, thankful his ex-boyfriend's house wasn't too deep into the forest. He ran out onto the road before his ex could catch up and he booked it down the high way, staying on the shoulders of the road so as to not get hit by any cars.
His ex-boyfriend cursed loudly before stopping in his tracks, Rohan able to get away without being followed. The running man blew out a breath of relief at that, thankful he didn't need to do any more elaborate maneuvers to escape.
Rohan managed to hitch a ride to the city after running quite few feet away from where his foster father had been and he was practically jitter with nerves as he sat in the car with this stranger. He could only hope the stranger was truly kind and wouldn't kidnap him.
Thankfully, he chose the right stranger to hitch a ride with and they dropped him off at a youth hostel in the city. He didn't have much, but he had enough cash to stay the night.
Once he was in the hotel, he took out his phone and unlocked it. He blocked the phone number of his ex-boyfriend almost immediately before heading to his Instagram account.
He knew how to find the profile he wanted to see, clicking on the bright photo icon where it was the woman whose account this was kissing her wife. He read the name on top of the profile.
Laila Mishra.
Despite having seen the picture numerous times, Rohan's breath still hitched when he scrolled and found a picture of Laila with a man who looked almost exactly like Rohan except with scars. The man was her father, someone who rarely showed up in her photos but he was now making a steady increase in appearances.
Rohan knew it without a doubt, this man was his father too and Laila was his big sister. The way they were a striking carbon copy of each other left no room for any argument stating otherwise.
He had been stuck with foster parents for all eighteen years of his life before he got out of the foster system, bouncing from one hellish foster family from the next. He had to listen to foster parents try and break him down by saying he was just an orphan and no family wanted him.
He had a family out there, just waiting for him to come, and now that he was twenty-two, he finally had proof it.
All three of them would be united soon, he made a promise to himself that they would.
Once he got enough money to fly to the UK.

Sure, I still haven't written Manish and Stone meeting but I just had to do this. Rohan was the only one giving me ideas.
This is hella short but hey, I haven't felt like writing anything in two weeks so I'll take what I can get. (Bobby dying in 911 really fucked me up more than it should've.)

The timeline!!! We love to see it revamped!!
Just one small tiny thing, Stone becomes homeless in 2005 on his sixteenth birthday. But he's still homeless when Laila is born so it's correct still.
Maybe one day, I will figure out the dates of what month the kids are born. But today is not the day.

okay hopefully last 2 questions.
when did butcher and kali get married? or how soon after dating do they get married? because currently i have dating start noted down as 2021, because its the year butcher came back to find sylvester on the ranch
and other question is: when did stone's healing journey begin/when did mohandas go to the ranch?
i am. so confused. theres so so many numbers but its soooo close to being done
I think Kali and Butcher got married after two years of dating. So 2023. And then of course, there was the six month separation which in my head, their reunion was at the end of 2023.
And then so Stone's Healing Journey was in 2024 and it ended it in 2024. Possibly around summertime or early fall.
So this means that Mohandas came to the ranch during the six month separation because well, he wasn't there for the wedding. I imagine he came nearing the end of the separation like three months before Butcher and Charlie came home.

Yes, right. Her birth year is 2014. My brain is melting from all this math, bestie, bear with me.
okay now i have a question about hellstorm and aiden. when did he and anshalv end up meeting/dating???? and when the FUCK does aiden come in the picture??? and what year were they born in???
Hellstorm would've been in the military until he was 35 (as it is in canon too) because well, that man would never stop piloting until he couldn't due to his age. So I'd say they met in 2025, after his last deployment ended because he retired once he couldn't fly the fighter jets anymore.
As for when Aiden comes into the picture, it's like maybe a year after Hellstorm and Anshlav (you typed it as Anshalv in the ask, but I went back to the post you figured out what to rename him and you typed it Anshlav there so idk which one is correct spelling) get married (which I think would be the year after they met, because didn't they get married or engaged quick?). And they're fourteen when they get adopted and um, so we're going with it being 2027??, their birth year would be 2013.
And since Lakshmi is a year younger (she was thirteen when she came to the ranch), that means her birth year is 2012.
If my math is wrong, we'd just have to change the years by one digit.
