So, I started reading the Oz books after Wicked (2024) and wanted to share here some thoughts about the series, headcannons and theories about the Land of Oz

Reflecting about this:
After Baum died, and even after the 40th Oz book came out, there were unofficial sequels and many reimaginings. Because how we feel today about LGBT+ representation and shipping, I wonder about one thing. Asides from Nick and the Scarecrow, Dorothy and Ozma both share the closest and most romantic looking relationship in the saga.
In a world were one of the two, Dorothy or Ozma, are male (the worst possible world)… would they be shipped together more often? Maybe most of modern reimaginings would have them as a couple. I think the fandom, even one so LGBT+ friendly and diverse as Oz’s, would have interpreted them immediately as romantically involved rather than waiting over a cnetury to correct their mistakes. Then again, is not our duty to look at non existent and probably worst past, but to build on Oz without the blinding influence of a not very queer time.

My first post here. And I start this with a meme that I made, which weirdly turned into a semi fanfic. It revolves around an Ozelection but with a twist. Oscar arrives after the events of the sixth book (in here Glinda hasn’t sealed Oz yet), and wins an election against Ozma. Jinjur also runs. The joke is that it was a meme about dumb electorade and turned into a shady campaign by the humbug the Wizard is (act like the fourth book never happened and he never redeemed himself btw).
