I've been bad at being consistent. But I'm so fed up with having nothing to show for my time being alive. That's a different jotting--as for now:
There's so much going on in my mind that I want to say, but I want to say them in a way that allows me to bring those swirling thoughts and issues to a close. It'll take some time, time that constantly eludes me but with a vengeance I squeeze as much as I can without hurting myself.
Artists--at least the ones who become enveloped by their work can experience emotions just a tad more intense than other lines of work. It's a detriment and a blessing. Strong empathy allows reaching into someone's soul and painting it for the world to see yet understanding of your situation may bring you to your knees, grieving the neverending fear of "Am I getting somewhere" but that's okay because we're human, and art keeps humans the mental medicine that in turn allows for example providers of medicine to work through another day. That's the Artists place, keeping the human expression alive.
Perhaps I won't have to wait to say much, the work may just betray my feelings.

Some Lady of the Origin Flame (working name) doodles. Them ribs are of blackened metal that open outward. Armor idea isn't final and she does switch from fleshy to boney—dunno these are exploratory as you do when designing characters.

Things are easy if you break them down into shapes (as you should as an artist—especially an animator), even with something as intricate as skulls. By the way holding the jaw of this skull open one-handed is tiring because it's got a spring.

Use line-of-action.com for gesture drawing. Almost like life drawing, second to maybe croquis cafe and of course real models (can't do that at the moment).

Out of the 24 drawings done so far from this morning to now, this one is okay. That Ethan Becker Mask thing though is sort of working after the 5th time around.

Take a 30 min. nap, drink some water, put headphones on (or not), and get back to it. Motivation may inspire art but only perseverance and work finishes it. That's my belief anyway, I'm not in a position to relax.

Took a break from the marathon in murdering a pencil because the hunger became too distracting. My usual 24 hour places nearby were closed (when I need you too) so like they say, you don't go to Denny's you end up at Denny's. Not complaining.

So after 9 drawings in a sketchbook and being absolutely torn by how horrendous my sketches were of this one pose, I decided to:
Stop using the 2H pencil to draw because it'll take forever to burn through and isn't dark for my liking
Move to a bigger sheet of paper because generally speaking the larger the drawing surface the better. Allows arm movements instead of wrist movements
Treat these as gesture drawings not an assignment to render; it's about getting the idea down for these VERY short, pressured sessions.
So what you see here is drawing #2 of the 1-minute gestures with a colored pencil drawover in how I can better convey the image. I doubt I can both perceive the detail at that distance and chock these lines down within a minute but I've notated for myself one way of getting the idea down for the eyes, face, arms, fingers, so on.
In hindsight this isn't an easy pose.

It's like nothing changed, but much has. These pencils existing are a problem so they'll be dealt with accordingly, one by one. Not every sketch and doodle will be shared because what stops budding artists sometimes is the desire to make every drawing presentable to passerby. Draw for yourself fool and no one else when it comes to your sketchbooks.
