Mostly raves of my current fixations, radical thoughts, unbounded emotions in a digital space, and...ANIME infatuation overload.

When Gadgets Say Goodbye.

Two gadgets bought the same year. One lasted a decade, and one, is still running and probably will run a year or a couple more.
Thank you dear Macbook Air for serving me 10 years. You had become the star witness of my students' progress from five different schools, a great aid in my early years as a teacher, and you were the master tool that I had utilized in reaching my biggest accomplishment to date. I had tried my best to revive you, but it's beyond our luck anymore. All I can say is, thank you so much! I might replace you one day, but not something that came from the same family or the same house. I had used you to the maximum of MY capacity but I hadn't used you to the maximum of YOUR capacity. The length of your life didn't mean that every single one of your features were taken advantage of. Regardless, I still give you the greatest gratitude you deserve.
Today, I am typing this using my "cheap", "not high-end", but reliable tablet that didn't come from the same company. So far, all of the important works that are needed to be done can be accomplished using this,(Maybe, I will be needing a more efficient keyboard and mouse to run things more smoothly compared to this cute but flimsy blush-pink keyboard and mouse set) In short, I am not a power-tech user, so high-end mobile gadgets will be just a waste on me. I have a well-functioning PC for games and other works though. I realized that at the of the day, high-end or not, they get the job done both effectively in their own ways---and when their days are over, these gadgets will be just collecting dust in your cabinets...both high-end or not.

Dissecting the clues in Slam Dunk's final cover image

We love to speculate about what happens to the characters beyond where the manga stops. A lot of it is pure fan conjecture, but sometimes Inoue does sprinkle in some clues. A year ago, a fan by the name of Strawberino shared a really interesting analysis about the future of the team on a different platform using clues in the cover image for volume 31. She told me eons ago she wanted to type it all up and share it, but then never got around to it (because: life) so I decided I’d just tidy up her notes and do it for her - credits for the following analysis go entirely to her of course.
So here we go, Strawberino's analysis of “who will replace Akagi and play Center for Shohoku the following year”:
Volume 31’s cover is a photo of Shohoku team practice after events of "10 Days Later", when Sakuragi returns to the team post-rehab. You can tell because his hair is longer. Akagi and Kogure are not in team uniform (they retired from the team to prepare for exams) but Mitsui is, meaning Sakuragi returned to the team before end of his first school year. Now it looks like they're playing a 3-on-3 practice match with Team Red being: Sakuragi, Rukawa, Yasuda and Team White being: Miyagi, Mitsui, Shiozaki. The teams' composition is reminiscent of chapters 134 & 135 where Sakuragi (Center) went up against Mitsui (Center). Based on this you can kinda assume Sakuragi is learning to play Center in addition to PF. Or you could have a simpler explanation for the team composition: Sakuragi and Rukawa are put on the same team so they're forced to learn how to work together.
Some fans might saying “you’re reading too much into things” but to that I say: Inoue has long been known to be extremely detailed oriented. An example: in re:source (the visual guide/companion book to The First Slam Dunk) Inoue was so particular about Sakuragi's hair that he left notes for the animation team detailing how long the hair should be and what texture it'd be at that point in the story.
And although Sakuragi taking over as Center isn't exactly the most shocking piece of news, it's still cool to see compelling proof of this and to think that Inoue probably has thought about what happens for Shohoku the following year ;)

MY FIRST SHOUJO WEEK
My day isn’t complete without watching 3-4 anime episodes. On top of these, I oblige myself to watch a new anime series that’s been marinating on my Netflix watchlist for too long and be able to decide if these series are worth marinating for longer or being expelled. Hmmm, this is a good idea- maybe create a mini segment in this blog and my future anime review posts called “Watchlist retain- watchlist remove”
Since this week and the last, I have been feeling all lovey-dovey, I have decided to create a blog post dedicated to the romance anime I have watched recently.
A SIGN OF AFFECTION
Plot and Story Flow ⭐️⭐️⭐️
PLOT: A story about a deaf college student who met a handsome stranger on a train. She captured his attention through sign language.
STORY FLOW: Linear and Progressive- “Opposites Attract"
Yuki who is a college student hasn’t tried out so many exciting things in life due to her disability. She then found her key to rediscovering herself through Itsuomi- a spontaneous, travel-loving, handsome guy who fell for her kind-hearted well-being.
Visuals (Graphics Quality, Animation, Character Design) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
When it comes to the animation, Signs of Affection is impeccable, polished, and consistent. The character designs are so detailed yet it emphasizes softness. The lines used were thin, and the color palette of each character was unique to its own. What stands out most is the emphasis on the eyes and lips of each character. Every character, main or not, was made sure to be looking so gorgeous. This anime is so “Shoujo-fied”, and as a shoujo-fan, I consider this one of the best-drawn anime that I have watched so far.
Soft lines, major emphases on subtle facial expressions, hair, eyes, lips, and skin tones.
The Controversy Behind The Anime
What made this controversial for me was the Playboy vibes of Itsuomi. As an advocate of students with special needs, I take a bit of offense at how Itsuomi displayed so much confidence or assertion in making Yuki his girlfriend. It felt to me that he had taken a bit of advantage of her disability in how he bluntly expressed his love for Yuki. It made me queasy. 😐
A GIRL AND HER GUARD DOG
Plot and Story Flow ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
PLOT: It's a story about a 15-year-old freshman high student who is also a granddaughter of a famous Yakuza clan who tries her best to navigate high school with or without the help of her 26-year-old guardian.
STORY FLOW: Linear and Slow-burn-“impossible (forbidden) Love”
As Isaku grows up, it’s inevitable for her to fall for her guardian, Keiya, who’s been with her since she was 5 years old. For Isaku, her unrequited feelings for him are so well-kept, because Keiya shows affection to her as how parents show affection to their children. Little does she know, Keiya eventually grew feelings and fell in love with her. But being a part of the Yakuza, it was a struggle for him to express his love without associating innocent and intimate moments with outward sex.
Visuals (Graphics Quality, Animation, Character Design) ⭐️⭐️
Graphics-wise, it’s somehow visually appealing, especially to younger audiences who haven’t experienced 90s anime. The sharpness of this series is profound and very similar to most anime that were released from year 2018-2024. It gives detailed backgrounds, vibrant colors, and texturized elements. But what made me really iffy with this anime besides the story, was the animation quality. If this anime was made from the 1990s to the early 2000s, inconsistencies in character design are somehow forgivable. However, this anime was released (If I am not mistaken) 2022-2023. The glitches were so right in-your-face, that made it so annoying to watch. But boy, Keiya is such a hottie (which somehow waged my irritation with the visual quality of this anime)!
Please take a good look at the inconsistencies! 🥴
The Controversy Behind The Anime
The age gap of the main characters is questionable enough to begin with. How can an almost 30 year -year-old guy, fall for a 15-year-old “freshman” high school student, and not just that, how can he get “too physical” with a girl whom he took ward of?
Isaku at 5 years old. Keiya at 16. 😖
The Contrast Between the Two Anime
There’s already a huge disparity between these two anime when it comes to visual elements. A Sign of Affection obviously has the graphic quality to capture my attention, however, in contrast, the story is a bit bland for my liking (As someone who always craves intensity ). The story of the side characters in this anime has more charm compared to the main. On the other hand, even though controversial, the story of A Girl and Her Guard Dog got me a bit thrilled because there are just some moments in this anime that will make you go “uh-oh” and “oh-what-the F” ---which, in my opinion, is essential in any anime series that you watch. So basically, the story of the Girl and Her Guard Dog compensated for the lack of visual appeal.
Ema and Shin ( A Sign of Affection) - A more interesting couple compared to the main.
Rin and Kyoya (A Sign of Affection)- A more interesting couple compared to the main.
Which Anime to Retain and Remove from the Watchlist:
Both to retain.
A Sign of Affection- to watch the romance between Kyoya and Rin and, Ema and Shin .
A Girl and Her Guard Dog- To see Keiya and go crazy over him.
Keiya should be really searching for someone who is the same age as him 😏

Top 5 Best Anime Kisses of all time (IMHO)
It’s February 14, and let me sprinkle your feed with a little Valentine’s treat! ❤️
Here’s a run-down of the best anime kisses (In my honest opinion), that I’ve witnessed ever since my first encounter with anime.
5. Keiko and Yusuke (Yuyu Hakusho)
Episode: Finale
What makes this kiss memorable: It was the sunset! I am quite a sucker when it comes to sunset kisses. (because I experienced it, and it was the most beautiful thing a woman could experience) When the rays of sun hovered between you and your partner, and you finally sealed that distance with an intimate kiss--- a simple scenery filled with opulence. But in this case, such an effect in the animation wasn’t possible yet.
youtube
Characters’ Romance Flow: Yusuke, a hard-headed guy, has a girl best friend named Keiko, who had his back ever since they were kids. Their love story is progressive, and Keiko has no choice but to encounter peculiar adventures just to support Yusuke; who initially didn’t consider her a romantic interest.
4. Asuka Langley Sohryu and Shinji Ikari ( Neon Genesis Evangelion )
Episode: 15
What makes this kiss memorable: It was an experimental kiss wherein Asuka almost sucked all of the air in Shinji’s lungs. It was too funny for me watching this scene when I was 14-15 years old, but now I am in my late 30’s, I finally understand what this scene represents- the vulnerability of Asuka Langley and her bottled-up feelings for Shinji that she couldn’t contain anymore because she established this façade of “I need no man” from the get-go.
youtube
Characters’ Romance Flow: Asuka developed feelings for Shinji. But being the sassy girl she was, she had to maintain this persona that Shinji was madly in love with her. Unfortunately, Shinji sees Asuka as nothing else but a girl who is similar to a gravure cover idol that he jerks off at night underneath his sheets. Sure, he considers her as a close friend, but nothing more.
3. Natsumi Tsujimoto and Detective Shouji Toukairin ( You’re Under Arrest )
Episode: 48
What makes this kiss memorable: The ultimate cheese-churner, fluttery-cliché airport scene, where Natsumi runs after Toukairin and bravely confesses her true feelings to him – after a very long and painstaking cat vs dog collection of episodes between these two.
youtube
Characters’ Romance Flow: The “you’re my ultimate nemesis” plot. Officer Tsujimoto is a feisty woman. She has this belief and delusion that she is the best officer in the place where she works because she has solved crimes and Tokyo traffic mishaps in uncanny ways. When Detective Toukairin arrives at Bokuto station, Natsumi Tsujimoto immediately feels threatened by his skills and presence but eventually falls hard for him as Detective Toukarin drops gentle hints of affection for her as the story progresses.
2. It’s a tie between Aki and Himeno ( Chainsaw Man ) and Mikasa and Eren (AOT)
Aki and Himeno (Indirect Kiss) – Episode 6
Mikasa and Eren – Finale
Aki and Himeno
What makes this kiss memorable: For Aki and Himeno, it’s the indirect kiss- transferring the cigarette from Himeno’s mouth to Aki’s, and the sticky gaze they poured each other on that scene shook my soul to its core.
youtube
Characters’ Romance Flow: Aki and Himeno’s relationship is “Senpai- Kouhai”, Himeno being the senior one, showed Aki the ropes to their notorious job as devil hunters. Himeno and Aki fell for each other as they continued working together, yet neither one of them confirmed their feelings verbally…although, their actions say otherwise.
Mikasa and Eren
What makes this kiss memorable: The depiction of pain and deep love, it's how Hajime Isayama illustrated the multifaceted feelings of Mikasa that are hidden through the years in one panel. Mikasa and Eren are considered as my least favorite characters in AOT but the kiss scene, I have to admit --- is pure art.
youtube
Characters’ Romance Flow: Mikasa is a childhood friend of Eren that his family adopted when treacherous men attacked Mikasa’s family. She just naturally fell in love with Eren being with him all the time therefore, she vowed to protect him. Eren knew Mikasa’s feelings but didn’t reciprocate them the way people would expect--- I mean, it’s just natural. If you are living in a place that is on the verge of collapse every single day, your romantic feelings would be the least of your priority.
1. Nagisa Shiota and Kaede Kayano (Assassination Classroom)
Season 2 Episode 20
What makes this kiss memorable: Imagine a kiss shared by Junior high school students, a 15-second kiss in total with tongue. Judging the main character, you would never suspect him to have a romantic interest with someone until the Valentine’s Day time episode. That episode made my jaw drop, I replayed the whole scene for almost an hour, and still couldn’t believe what I had watched. How could very cute anime characters kiss with TONGUE… and in friggin’ 15 seconds?! However, in that kiss, the Nagisa has revealed what he truly feels about Kayano and the purpose of that kiss was somehow to save her life and their friendship.
youtube
Characters’ Romance Flow: There was no actual romance revealed or even hinted at until the infamous kiss happened. That’s why I was in total shock with the kissing scene. Later in the series, the characters grow old but remain good friends.
I know there are more anime series that have intense kissing scenes, but these are the scenes that were etched in my memory for the longest time and the anime mentioned above are not romance anime, so there were not a lot of kisses to expect from these series.
Anyways, dear reader, if you have watched a lot of anime, what kissing scene do you remember the most, and from what anime series?
Happy Valentines Day!

Vamos 2025!
EVENT NAME: Hobbyfest 2025
2025 is the year when I will focus on what my heart genuinely craves. So, if I have started the year right, it is because I have begun doing what I love this year. The things that I had been doing a decade before, which I enjoyed copiously, had waned down these past few years because, well...I didn't have much time because of work- that eat most hours of my day.
My 2025 mantra is to accept my "renewed" version and what I really love doing from the very beginning and solely focus on the things that make my heart flutter---only that and nothing else.
So, let me start by sharing a few pictures I captured from the first anime-related event I attended this year. I will join more events like this in the future if my schedule permits :)

I Watched AOT: The Last Attack Movie So You Don't Have To.
When there is an upcoming anime movie, I find it imperative to watch the anime series from the very beginning to keep abreast of the story. Watching so many anime in a day (although most of the anime in my watch arsenal are kept for rotation) makes it somehow impossible to keep all the tiny details in memory, so basically, that’s what I do. I just found out that the AOT movie was released later last year in Japan and early this year in Southeast Asia. I thought I’d buy more time to watch the whole series from the very beginning until earlier this week. Imagine cramming the last final seasons in two days due to this certain expectation that there would be some “cut scenes”, “another character’s perspective” or a “continuation”.
I gave it a good hour in the cinema before I realized that all of the things that I had been watching in the movie were just (visually enhanced with severely minute details added like a flare, a blur, flicker of lights )compiled episodes of the last season. I almost fled from the cinema in the middle of the movie feeling extremely disappointed that I had wasted 10 dollars on a ticket.
So what I am saying is, the movie was just the whole final season of the series. That’s it…with just extra credits of Mikasa, Armin and Eren watching the movie from another world in the future---which were already leaked on social media. There’s no added “treat” of a different story from another character’s perspective. What really annoyed me the most was that I SLEPT SOOO LATE the day before the movie, trying to finish the last installment of the final season in one sitting, because I knew I had to somehow prepare… BUT &*p7238xh#!@%#^&%^!
I think the only thing that’s somehow positive in this movie is seeing my husband (Levi Ackerman) on a bigger screen.

Damn! Just damn!
I know that people like to imagine the first kiss with Levi as being soft and gentle but I see that man being hungry.
And I mean real hungry. The moment his lips meet yours, he is not wasting anytime, his hands move from your waist to your hips, his tongue slips past your mouth. He had waited for this for far too long to be gentle with you. He needed you right here and now. Levi backs you up against the nearest surface, fingers traveling up your back, the kiss growing more intense. When you pull away, he is quick to place a couple of kisses on your neck before diving back in and kissing you passionately once more. "Fuck...." He is breathless when he finally pulls away. "Now that I had you. I won't be able to hold back any fucking longer." Kissing you again, he picks you wrapping your legs around him.

THE TOP 5 ANIME THAT I HAVE WATCHED AND REWATCHED THIS 2024.
5. SLAMDUNK
My number one anime before I rekindled my love for anime this past decade. I've thought that no one could match this masterpiece until I have watched the animes that were released from 2010- present.

PLOT:🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟🌟
Slamdunk's plot was one of the most awe- inspiring of all time. The character development of the protagonist and how he was building his love for basketball as he slowly gets closer to Ayako (his romantic interest in the series), was exceptional. Although Ayako had her full attention towards Kaede Rukawa (Sakuragi's archnemesis), the determination he had to become the greatest basketball player through Ayako's eyes was very heartwarming and was just a pleasure to watch.
One of the reasons why I couldn't get enough of this anime was because of the progressive storyflow. Sakuragi just gets better everytime--- he never fails to surprise viewers with his amazing hidden skills.
BEST ARC IMO: The Hisashi Mitsui Comeback
A lot of 90s anime fanatics will agree with me on this one. This was the first time I fell hard 💓 with a fictional character---which is NORMAL may I add. Hahahahah. This was the plot twist that took many by surprise which also featured the ultimate anime love song of all time- WANDS' "Sekai Ga Owaru Made Wa" - a perfect fit as an ending song for an emotional rollercoaster arc.
ANIMATION DYNAMICS: 🌟
Straightforwardly, the animation dynamics of Slamdunk compared to the anime today are archaic. It is flat and you'd feel that these are just patched-up clips of manga panels with added transition. But hey, it's fair to say this, because the anime was made in the early 90s...to expect a 4D dynamics is inconceivable.
GRAPHICS: 🌟 🌟 🌟
What I like about the 90's anime was the animators' respect for human anatomy. There's a big probability that, since Slamdunk is a sports anime, it's just natural to design characters with emphasized muscles and appendices. Although it wasn't just that, even in just a still frame, an illustrator's eye can really tell that the respect for human figure is surely present.
REASON/S FOR REWATCHING- A fufillment of the afternoon-anime nostalgic phase, missing Hisashi Mitsui.
4. DEMON SLAYER

The anime that is fearsome- literally and figuratively.
PLOT and SETTING: 🌟 🌟 🌟🌟
A mini ick would immediately crawl-in if I had watched an anime that is based from old Japan. I mean the Japanese-ness ( sorry for the term, I couldn't find a politically correct one for this ) is a double-kill for me. Modern Japan is tolerable, but the ancient ones don't emit any appeal.
Demon Slayer is different. Even though the anime is set in Taisho era, there's a modern feeling that I get from it--- modern, in a sense that, there were super powers involved and the attitudes of characters exude certain freshness and humor that you won't probably see in most anime that are inspired by the old Japan. The story is about a young boy who wants to avenge the death of his family from a gruesome demon attack, but he has to overcome the struggles to kill BOSS DEMON Muzan in able to wipe-out the existence of demons in his world. Typical story, but the process on how Tanjiro does it, is quite interesting and had locked my attention for a longer period of time, unexpectedly.
BEST ARC IMO: Entertainment District Arc
I am a sucker for anything that is "visual-candy". The obssession I have with color, movement, composition, and tiny details is unmatched. Personally, I am a maximalist. A well-coordinated maximalist in real life but when it comes to what I consume, whether it's film, series, or anime, my eyes require orgasm! This arc has everything that I love, burst of colors, magnanimous intricate details all in one frame, lights, glitter, dazzling magical effects, groups of anime characters wearing majestic clothes and make-up-- you get the works. Irregardless of this arc being so visually exhilarating, it has the funniest yet touching and tragic story in all released seasons of this anime as if all those enthralling visuals has to veil a certain darkness. A lot of peole would say that Mugen train is the most touching arc, but it only places second or third for me.
ANIMATION DYNAMICS: 🌟 🌟 🌟
Because this anime has a lot of action and fighting scenes, I somehow expected to have a variety of POVs. But if my memory serves me right, the only arc that had shown me plenty of POVs and camera works was the Tsuzumi Mansion arc... The later arcs, although dynamic enough, had fewer cameraworks despite the number of action scenes these arcs posess. The latest one, the Hashira Training arc, even with BOSS DEMON MUZAN, the cameraworks kinda fell flat to me.
GRAPHICS: 🌟 🌟 🌟
I am actually on the fence with the graphics and character design of this anime series. The characters have a modern take--- with gradient hair, facial marks and other unique features that make each anime character easily distinguishable. But! The GORY-ness of the fight scenes of this anime somehow contradicted the cuteness of the characters. What I also adore in this anime is the detailed background. It gives a lot of Makoto Shinkai feels plus the 3D effects. I almost drooled over the first episode of this anime--- winter, snow-covered backgroud, yet the animators managed to pull-off brilliant 3D effects of snow.
3. THE APOTHECARY DIARIES

This anime reminds me of Fushigi Yuugi—- just with a protagonist that has no stupidity on display. I was so hooked with this anime for quite some time and now excited for the next season.
PLOT and SETTING: 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
Think of Imperial China, meets House MD meets Ron Kamonohashi. Set in Tang dynasty, Maomao- the main character is the adopted daughter of a former eunuch who had extensive knowledge in herbs and apothecary. Maomao learned this skill from him and is able to gain further knowledge in poisonous ingredients by baiting herself as a poison tester for the current emperor's favorite concubine.
This anime totally gained my interest, not just because it is an eye-candy anime, but because of the story as well. It's interesting how Maomao's knowledge in apothecary has unlocked scandals, dark secrets and mysteries that surround the imperial palace. The flow of the story was made in such a way that, if you had missed an episode, you'll find yourself puzzled because each episode is interconected with the rest. That's why this anime would definitely require your full, undivided attention.
The only little thing I could complain about this is, a lot of details and scenes are actually inspired by the real Imperial China. So, if you are going to watch this without some prior knowledge of Chinese history, you'd feel a bit lost because some events depict the culture of the people from the past. This reason alone had made me watch the Chinese period drama entitled "The Double". It was so well-researched, that it would make so curious, you’d do your own research to fully understand the series. It's why despite this anime only having 24 episodes, it took me almost two months to finish it.
ANIMATION DYNAMICS: 🌟🌟
Because this is a detective type of anime, with poison as the main culprit of unsolved mysteries, I, of course didn't expect it to be full-packed of action. The transitions and animations are actually so subtle, for the viewers to appreciate other factors in this anime like the graphics and the story. But, cameraworks are still very present, some scenes are shown in variety of camera perspectives.
GRAPHICS: 🌟🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
Another eye-candy anime, the characters and specially the backgrounds are made so exquisitely, its easy to fall in love with every little detail in the series. Every frame is filled with color, composition and texture. Graphic-wise, this is my second most favorite next to Violet Evergarden. Visually, it's too captivating that I couldn't find the words to describe the fascination I felt watching this anime. The visuals are just uhhm, CHEF'S KISS.
2. SPY x FAMILY

I think it is safe to say that this anime is my "comfort anime". I can rewatch this anime for a hundred times and will never get bored. This anime is just very pleasant to watch.
PLOT and SETTING: 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
Any anime series that is well-researched, and is inspired by historical contexts capture my heart in a jiffy. Spy x Family is a great example. Because even with a sprinkle of history, it is shown in a clear and suave way that can easily grasped by the audience. Spy x Family is about an incredible spy who needs to fulfill a mission ASAP in order to dodge an impending war that's going to happen between two countries: Westalis and Ostania. But for the spy to complete this mission, he has to adopt a daughter--- and from then on, Loid's family would face more compelling but funny adventures.
ANIMATION DYNAMICS: 🌟 🌟 🌟
This is a well-balanced anime with regards to its animation dynamics. Since this anime is my "comfort anime", I can attest that every frame is a delight to watch. Diverse animation dynamics are present when it needs to be present, and subtlety is applied if the scene doesn't necessarily need it. However, I have observed that more complex animation dynamics are always obvious in Yor Forger's fight scenes compared to the rest of the characters’ scenes.
GRAPHICS: 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
The consistency of the characters look in each episode is pretty impressive. Emotions are captured so well. Colors are warm, yet bright. Background setting are so detailed you'd feel that you are in Western Europe in its summer season. I couldn't complain really, the anime is within my standards, but what surpirsed me more with Spy x Family, is the presence of mid-century art pieces in Loid Forger's apartment. This anime had proven that the creators are so knowedgeable with art history and interior design as well.
REASON/S FOR REWATCHING : Like what I said, it is my comfort anime. I will just watch this whenever I feel like it.
1. ATTACK ON TITAN

Do we even need to discuss how GREAT this anime is? The word GREAT is such an understatement for this masterpiece. The very first time I watched this anime, I was in so much awe with the thought that someone could even create a concept or story that has never done before. This anime is the MOST REMARKABLE anime that I have ever watched in my entire life and that's not a hyperbole.
PLOT AND SETTING: 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
Set in a fictional, locked country-PARADIS, which is inspired by a town in Germany, Eren Jaeger had dreamt of liberation and an end to their everyday suffering (the return of the titans). His ultimate dream is to eradicte the titans that consume human beings so he can destroy the walls that serve as a barrier between humans and titans, and eventually gain infinite freedom. There are things that I just want to warn the new viewers of this anime:
First, this anime is too morbid, brutal, and devastating. It's not for people who gag at the first sight of blood and definitely not for audiences who want to end an episode in a cheery note. If you are an anime fan, and you think that Kimetsu no Yaiba is gory and morbid, AOT is 50 x more than that. Genocide is so common in almost all of the episodes.
The other one is, you have to glue yourself on the screen. Eagerly watch so that you can never miss a single detail, because every tiny piece of detail has a significant relevance to the latter seasons. This anime also, is presented in reverse chronological order, and contains plenty of memory linkages, so you should really invest a lot of critical thinking in order to understand it wholly. It's imperative that I schedule an AOT marathon once every six months. I always rewatched from the very beginning whenever there was a new released season. That's how englufed you should be and you would be, because getting hooked and addicted to this anime is inevitable!
ANIMATION DYNAMICS: 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
Because the characters require to fly in order to defeat the titans, let's say that there's 101 and more views and perspectives you'd experience in this anime. It's not just your typical ants-eye view that you generally expect if you are in the sky, riding a hot-air balloon. Its animation dynamics is top-notch. Imagine being in a roller-coaster! That's the feeling you are going to get from the fight scenes of this anime. The animators created the scenes in a way that would make you feel you are included (amazing, isn' it?). If AOT will be in an IMAX theatre, the experience is going to be so surreal. So, so surreal.
GRAPHICS: 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
The only complain that I have for this anime is the inconsistency of the character design and the mega- bold lining of characters specially during the first season. This anime is not meant to make you feel light and happy, hence the limited color palette---from neurtral to inferno colors. There's also one thing that I'd like to address...the glow-up of Levi is so discernible as the story progresses, from cutie patootie Levi in season 1, to "my clothes look good on your bedroom floor" Levi in season 4. 💓
REASON/S FOR REWATCHING: I need to watch my husband (Levi Ackerman) from time to time hahahah, and to look for more easter eggs in the story. Yes, you need to rewatch this anime a lot of times to gain more clues and shocking details.
Now there is my top five. I only presented five for now because I'm trying to renavigate myself in the world of blogging. Blogging should be the MAIN thing for 2025. Social media should hit a reset! We are already entertained and we're tired of it. Now, let's gain more information and knowledge through REAL reading and share information through writing. Not just a single sentence--- but writing in PARAGRAPHS. Let your followers or viewers adore you through your words!
