AuDIAs Update

The mods of the AuDIAs are incredibly grateful for the support and enthusiasm we've seen for this event over the last week since opening nominations - you all are absolutely wonderful, we've been amazed at the number of submissions received! That said, we've already had to make some tough calls and wish to be as transparent as possible, along with ensuring that we're all on the same page, going forward.

Within the week, we've had to close five of our seven nomination categories. While we understand this may be frustrating for those who were initially unaware of the event and who may now feel as if they're being disallowed from participating, we want to remind everyone that this is a free awards project created by a team of three, who are working on this in our spare time. The audio drama community is wonderful and dedicated, but we will be adjusting our internal qualifications and culling nominations down to a manageable number, which means not every submitted show will be eligible.

While we know (and agree) that nearly every podcast can qualify as indie, these awards were created hoping to highlight hidden gems specifically within audio drama, and is the reason we're changing our eligibility requirements. We love this community, and we know that everyone is small compared to relative giants in the space, but, first and foremost, we're aiming to uplift the hidden gems and give the shows you've never heard of before a chance to shine.

Reminder that the categories for Best Horror, Comedy, Sci-fi, and Fantasy close TODAY! We will no longer be accepting submissions for those categories after 2pm CDT, so get your submissions in now!

The Slice-of-Life, D&D Actual Play, and Non-D&D Actual Play categories are still open until further notice.

AuDIAs Review Team

The AuDIAs is a fan-run, community-voted awards show for the hidden gems of the audio fiction world. We're looking for volunteer judges to join our team and review submitted shows to determine which ones will be nominated for the public vote to select winners!

Despite our plan to have submissions open until April, several categories are filling up fast - Horror, Sci-fi, Comedy, and Fantasy will be closing on Thursday, March 20th! Thank you all so much for your incredible support and suggestions.

The number of submissions in each category is soft-capped in order to preserve the sanity of our volunteer judges, who will be donating dozens of hours listening to these amazing submissions. "Actual Play" & "Slice of Life" will remain open until we have reached the maximum.

Submissions to nominate a show for consideration are open right now, and can be found here. Listeners and creators alike are welcome to submit shows for nomination, whether it's your own show or someone else's. Please note that, depending on the number of shows submitted, some categories may be closed earlier as needed. Once the nomination period ends, review teams will listen to the pilot episode of each show and determine category finalists together, which will then be decided by community voting!
