clap ur hands if u hate killing falmer and giants in skyrim and taking their body parts because they are clearly culturally advanced and only protecting their homes and it reminds u of the horribly desecrating colonialism and genocides we perform on cultures that have existed far before caucasians
Falmer are way more aggressive, but they were tortured for millennia by other races using implements they couldn’t understand or fight against. They attack man because they saw it for years as the torturer, the pain bringer. Ages upon ages of endless violence, and they now have the know-how to fight back.
Giants are borderline peaceful. They grieve their animal guides. They make their own food. They live in relative peace (that one Orc stronghold is an outlier) and make bargains with men. Attacking them for simply wanting to have their land untouched feels…wrong.
Maybe TES VI will put more wild desert fauna in the next game as enemies, like jackals or huge beetles or sand snakes. Given the high likelihood of it being in Hammerfell, we could get territorial beasts like Daggerback boars, Clawrunners, Wickeders, and Bounders. Maybe even Stros M’Kai pirates.
Just…no more feral ‘monsters’ that, despite appearances, have genuine sapience and are living as they wish.

You've met my Hero of Kvatch, now please meet my Dragonborn :)
His name is Dorito and he is most definitely the spiritual successor of Derpy. Just look at that thoughtful stare and that graceful pose...! A natural born hero.

how do you guys imagine enchantments that increase skills technically work / feel?
like a magic ring that increases base attributes and makes you faster or stronger or able to jump higher or avoid detection are pretty straightforward.
but how would like, an amulet of smithing work if it were worn by someone with no experience or understanding of smithing? is it just like, their natural instincts on what to do get improved, subconsciously? or does it give them the muscle memory of an experienced blacksmith? or both?
or do you think it improves the necessary skills required for the craft in a way that's more conscious / directly observable, ie; wearing an amulet of lockpicking improves your fine motor skills and fingertip sensitivity? or an amulet of smithing that, when you put on, immediately gives you conscious knowledge of the craft that you can actively draw upon, which I guess you'd forget after taking the amulet off?
Personally I prefer some version of the former idea, which in turn has me thinking about blackmiths (for example) loaning their apprentices equipment imbued with mild smithing enchantments, so that they can practice for some time with the instincts and muscle memory of a more learned blacksmith, so that when they remove the enchantment they have more firsthand experience of how a good blacksmith should ply their trade, making it easier to emulate even without the enchantment. kind of like weight training or something.
although this doesn't line up perfectly with game mechanics, as in my head an enchanted set of gloves or a piece of jewelry that gives you the muscle memory of a more experienced practitioner of a certain skill would only be useful as long as you were less experienced than this hypothetical practitioner, and once you naturally surpass the skill level given by the enchantment you'd no longer need it. but in-game, even if you have a skill of 100 in smithing, putting on an enchantment that increases your smithing by 5 points can still benefit you (or can it? I'm not actually sure how the numbers and skills involved technically work or impact the gear you craft)
regardless I'm curious what thoughts and headcanons you guys have regarding this subject.

Blindness is the price of greed, Jotirr told me when I first joined the order. It's not inevitable, no. There are monks who have been with the order for decades and still retain their sight. If you are careful to listen to the song of the moths, if you wait long months before you read the scrolls, if you're patient, you can see.
If you could decipher a prophecy that might save the lives of every person, would you restrain yourself? I couldn't.

i just spent two whole hours procrastinating calling the fucking dentist for a procedure i Do Not want (but need) and they put me on hold for a while just to tell me the website was down and they'll have to call me back sometime later today or tomorrow. i don't even get a timeframe?? what the hell am i supposed to do until then?? i have plans for tomorrow!! i have to bring my nephews to the fucking library, arguably one of the worst places to get a phone call, for them to do whatever activity they have planned. i guess my stomach is just going to hurt and i'm going to think of all the ways i stuttered through that 5 minute phone call. hooray.
