Leak Spin | A tribute to the popular Loituma Girl Leek Spin MEME
We’ve all witnessed the mesmerizing magic of Leekspin, but now it’s time for Sea of Thieves pirates to claim their own version. Enter Leak Spin—a meme that celebrates the chaotic joy of the Spin Blowpipe emote, endlessly twirling in a storm of pure pirate energy.
Whether you’re caught in a game-breaking bug, frantically trying to intimidate rival crews, or simply embracing the infinite dizziness of the seas, Leak Spin is here to bring some nautical nonsense to the meme world.
Will this become the next great pirate meme? Only the tides will tell. ⚓🌪️

Big Badah Boomb!!
A US researcher, Andrew Haverly, who is a Microsoft software engineer, proposed detonating a massive nuclear bomb under the ocean to accelerate carbon sequestration through enhanced rock weathering (ERW). The idea, published in a preprint paper on arXiv, suggests that a nuclear explosion of 81 gigatons (thousands of times more powerful than any nuclear weapon ever detonated) could pulverize vast amounts of basalt rock on the seabed.
The theory is that this pulverized rock would then react with CO2 in the ocean to form stable carbonate minerals, effectively locking away carbon permanently and potentially sequestering 30 years' worth of carbon dioxide emissions in one event. The proposal suggests burying the device kilometers underground beneath kilometers of water in a remote, basalt-rich seabed like the Kerguelen Plateau in the Southern Ocean, aiming to confine debris, radiation, and energy.
However, it's crucial to understand that this is a highly controversial and speculative idea with immense risks:
* Unprecedented Scale: The proposed explosion is exponentially larger than any ever attempted, raising serious questions about containment and unforeseen consequences.
* Environmental Impact: While the proposal claims radiation would be largely contained, the long-term effects on marine ecosystems, seismic activity, and potential for widespread contamination are largely unknown and could be catastrophic.
* Feasibility and Safety: The logistical challenges of deploying such a device and ensuring its precise detonation and containment are monumental.
* International Implications: The use of nuclear weapons, even for a purported "peaceful" purpose, has profound geopolitical implications and would face immense international opposition.
* Lack of Peer Review: The proposal is a preprint, meaning it has not yet undergone the rigorous peer-review process typical for scientific research.
This idea harkens back to the "Operation Plowshare" era, where the US explored "peaceful uses" for nuclear explosives, including projects like Project Chariot, which aimed to create an artificial harbor in Alaska using nuclear bombs. These projects were ultimately abandoned due to concerns about environmental contamination, public opposition, and a lack of practical use.
While the climate crisis demands innovative solutions, proposals involving nuclear explosions are met with extreme caution and skepticism due to the inherent dangers and the potential for irreversible environmental and geopolitical harm.
