I saw someone say where they can read Kirigiri, so i thought i should leave ItsMagik translations for them, the way i personally read through them. Theyre very great and fully recomend going through the 7 volumes.

Actual obscure trios of Danganronpa

People should talk about the parallels these two, who lit never interacted before have IMO. Like they're both:

-Short tempered

-Dont have many close people

-They have an important red head

-Killed/knocked out by choking

-cause for killing was to protect their loved one

-Convinced that they did the right thing

-died from a blondie

And tbh, they also have very similar clothing styles. How tf did the danganronpa team create such unintentional similarities between these two characters, never caught onto it and used that potential?!

We really needed like a dlc for S and have these two be part of it PURELY for an interaction between both

What if Danganronpa: Kirigiri was instead structured like a story about yet another Killing Game?

So, now its time for Danganronpa Kirigiri! the long awaited 3rd entry in the "What if other entries were made like the trilogy".

For this one, I wanted to try and keep it fresh and also unexpected, not as much as the Killer Killer one, but enough so that it stands out, not to mention we now have 7 chapters to accommodate the larger cast with 20, as the Kirigiri cast is pretty large in general and hey, the novel has 7 chapters, so why not replicate it here?

Prologue + Chapter 1:

The premise of this game will be quite different than usual, we of course still have Yui as our protagonist, Kyoko as our support, and we will be having Suisei as our overall antagonist. In here, a total of 20 people were chosen to participate in a gran event! And those three, along with 17 others were invited over, that's when the doors to the overall location to the killing game close and everyone is told that they are now participants of the Ultimate Duel Noir.

The rules are similar to the trilogy rules, but now with the added fact that whoever gets to leave will also be awarded with Mikado's entire fortune, a great legacy of his. This gets everyone on their toes, detectives or not. (Note that they do not know who Mikado is at this point in time, as he will be disguised as someone else and have an alias to keep his name out of the picture).

Anyways, just like the dr3 one, i have next to no clue how the motive nor kills themselves would go through, though most likely they would have a pretty similar feel and difficulty as those of the novels.

Anyways, what's more of a crazy and awesome way to start us off than to kill off a 000 detective himself? Sorry Johnny, I love you but you dying first can bring a lot of interesting dilemmas and trials without someone knowing the deal one second in.

And the person who killed him is unfortunately Hajiki, the least developed out of the three detectives we meet. I think his motive could relate back to how he is someone who is hot-blooded and impulsive in taking action. Maybe he heard a rumour about Johnny being the MM, whether it'd be for his knowledge on the situation or a miscellaneous reason. So he acted on the spot and killed him before he could potentially hurt someone, which was obv wrong and wasn't the mastermind himself.

Chapter 2:

Unlike the dr3 crew, the dr:k cast never seems to unite one as a group, often just forming their own little factions and group up with people close to them, so the deaths of Johnny and Hajiki dont really affect anyone. Though the next one def will affect someone, as Nazuna is found to be the second victim of the game, making Tsukiyo go absolute nuts considering they are close friends.

And the person who killed her would be none other than Shiroko! This one is def easier to pinpoint what motive she would have, as we already have the fact that she is a mother who loves and protects her kids very dearly, just make it relate to that and she will kill in no time me thinks.

Chapter 3:

After the trial, Tsukiyo is left sulking, but after some encouragement from Yui and Kyoko (mostly Yui) she decides to fight for Nazuna and even joins Yui and Kyoko's duo.

Now this is where things go crazy, we have a TRIPLE murder case at our hands, with all none victim, surviving mystery club members being killed. During the entire trial, it slowly seems to be building up to make Rei the culprit, until she herself reveals that while yes, she did kill both Goro and Kosuke, it was Kosuke that first killed Emi. This was by manipulation from Rei of course.

You may be wondering why i made Rei like this? well, by the little of what we got from her, she seems to gen not be mentally sane at all, being described as a person who chases pigeons when they're being fed and cutting the breaks of Torus sisters car. So why not make her completely deranged? It would fit with the many characters here as them being an asshole and not many nice people.

Of course, Toru crashes out at this, and basically beats up Rei while she laughs at the rage of him. Making end of the third and most brutal chapter here.

Chapter 4:

To tone it back down a bit, Toru is still absolutely livid and out of it, so its better for no one to try and socialize with him. And that's not our attention for now, because uh oh... we have a double murder! Salvador and Taehime are both found dead.

Everyone starts throwing fingers in the trial as to who did it, because it was at this point that everyone was much more un easy with one another, until they found out that the true culprits were actually themselves, as an act of sacrifice between each other. Was It an attempt to try and make peace with the remaining survivors? who knows, but if it was then...

Chapter 5:

It didn't work, as we find Toru dead now! and the killer is, surprisingly, Tsukiyo Nada! why? it was in self defence, as Toru seemed to have finally fully snapped and tried to first off himself, and when he was stopped by Tsukiyo, he moved onto trying to kill her, which didn't succeed as she was able to kill him first. she apologizes for what she did before she is ultimately executed.

Chapter 6:

And these chapters between the 3rd one and the last one are gonna go pretty quickly, because i have NO. FUCKING. CLUE about how they would turn out aside from the kills/death order. So we find both Licorne and Mifune dead, and the culprit, somewhat symbolically is Kanji, representing the final antagonist in Kirigiri. He was about to shoot Kyoko with a gun he was able to steal from Johnny back in day one when Meruko all like the queen she is and with her last strength was able to walk all the way over to the trial room and BEND THE FUCKING GUN. like old times. Making Kanji not able to do jack and get killed.

Chapter 7:

Final chapter baby! of course the mastermind of all of this is surprise surprise (not really) Mikado!... yeah shocker, the guy who barely did anything is the MM. So for motive, he made the killing game as a way for Kyoko to become the Ultimate detective and stop the upcoming tragedy that's about to come.

But, a major difference in this one is that unlike the novels, Yui isn't the one to sacrifice herself, as doing so wouldn't end the Killing game, so as her own act and final goodbye to Samidare, Kyoko sacrifices herself. Leaving Yui absolutely devastated and regretful she couldn't do anything to save her like her sister. Just an FYI, Kyoko sacrifices JUST herself so the games end, Mikado actually lives through this. So survivors consist of:

Suisei Nanamura

Sachi Mizuyame

Rei Naruko

And i guess to an extent, so did Yui and Tsukasa, but they at least went through SMTH. Well, that's what happens when you lose protagonism after the first game tbh.

Anyways, they should've made a Chapter 4 alt end episode instead of tooth but again We really needed an actual Satoshi episode, and this one can include new interactions with Tohko & Yui. But hey, at least we got to see Kai, Ryosuke and Ohkawa again! so i cant complain too much.

BUT, now that i have gained back some motivation, i do want to continue this, so hopefully i can get Chapter 2 part 1 in AT MINIMUM, one week notice. No promises though!

Man, they should have made AT LEAST one Extra chapter based on the alt ending. It has a lot of potential.

The surviving cast is def out there (with the exception of Tohko and maybe Taguchi) But i think this could have been an awesome alt path to take with a completely different storyline.
