Actual photo of me forcing myself to draw people bc the whole time I'm doing it I'm thinking "this looks TERRIBLE!!" but the only way I can get better at drawing people is by drawing people

A trope I will never understand no matter how many times I see it is the "superhero reveals their identity to someone they care about and that person getting pissed off they lied to them". Like wtf that's a perfectly reasonable and understandable thing to lie about. The math just doesn't math for me. I don't understand how some of those characters treat it like this great personal betrayal. That information puts both of you at a degree of risk. But you're throwing a hissy fit over a reasonable action. You can't just hand this information out like candy to every person for have fleeting feelings for, OF COURSE YOU KEEP THAT SHIT A SECRET!!!
#this most recent time came from superman and lois but I know its in others too#superman and lois#invincible#dc universe

Fun Fact: Nick’s moral dilemma wasn’t a choice between June and Gilead. It was between being a N*zi and not being a N*zi, regardless of his feelings for June. Doing the right thing for the right thing’s sake.
That’s why Lawrence got redemption and he didn’t. Because when push came to shove, he didn’t try to save his own neck at the expense of the rebellion. He got on the plane and followed through knowing what it would mean for him.

sorry for swinging a bat at a hornet's nest here i would normally mind my own business but i've truly never seen shipping overtake media literacy and comprehension to such a degree as with the handmaid's tale. "they character assassinated nick!" he was a soldier who overthrew the government in an attempt to gain power under a new world order that subjugated women. he succeeded in this attempt. this is not a surprise. this has been baked into the narrative from the beginning.
the handmaid's tale is not a romcom! it's a story about standing up to fascism! even when fascism is handsome and says he loves you and will take you to paris! it's still fascism! you can't be falling for this! "i can't believe they called him a nazi" he is! it's that A.R. Moxon quote:
"Historians have a word for Germans who joined the Nazi party, not because they hated Jews, but out of a hope for restored patriotism, or a sense of economic anxiety, or a hope to preserve their religious values, or dislike of their opponents, or raw political opportunism, or convenience, or ignorance, or greed. That word is "Nazi." Nobody cares about their motives anymore."
this is the point of the narrative, that june has been taken in and is finally realizing that now. if you as a viewer were also taken in that's okay, but maybe defending this character to the death is not the move

On a lighter note however, the fact that both Syl and Pattern independently are like "I gotta figure out what's going on with these humans and sex" is so funny to me 🤣🤣

Listen I KNOW that the Knights Radiant need to be the good guys and heros. And that as such they have to take the high road. But I'm tired of that and want someone to for once decide "you know they went low but I'm going to go to hell". "Amaram's reputation is ruined that's enough" LIKE HELL IT IS!! I want The Mountain from Game of Thrones to crush his skull. Reputation isn't enough.
AND on top of that even Roshone is out here getting a pass?? Also I didn't want Laral to be miserable in her marriage but wtf don't DEFEND that lowlife.

Absolutely wild how when I finished The Last of Us 2 game, I actually appreciated the Abby storyline as well as Ellie's. But all it took was one episode, and I'm right back to feeling like I was at the beginning of that game. I'm ready to see Abby lose people around her violently because of her killing Joel. It'll be interesting to see if I end with the same feelings the game left me with or not.

I'm so fucking done with all the lighteyes in this moment in time and I'm fine including Shallan in that right now, I'm done with the entire group. Because as I said before she's a slave owner now and I don't ride or die for someone that owns people. At this point let it all burn I don't care about anyone except Bridge 4 anymore. They're going to have to work incredibly hard to claw their way off my shit list. I don't think I've been this angry since Joffrey was still alive in Game of Thrones.

Listen, I'm reading through Words of Radiance for the first time, and I trust Sanderson's ability to tell a good story. But I NEED Amaram to die a painful death and soon. Can I give The Red Viper's death to him? Oberyn didn't deserve that but Amaram sure as hell does.

It's really amazing how I can like all the light eyed characters in their individual povs, and how quickly all that changes as soon as they interact with Kaladin. Suddenly they went from someone I like to someone I can't stand.

Reading through the Words of Radiance for the first time. Adolin, and to a lesser extent Dalinar are really starting to get on my nerves for the first time. I really need Adolin to sit down, shut up, and not even look at my boy Kaladin. Granted, I'm biased because Kaladin has grown into probably one of my favorite characters ever. And with Dalinar, even though I can at least see where he's coming from, is also frustrating me. Because my guy, Kaladin told you this horrible thing Amaram did, and his reaction is just "Well you dont have proof outside your word even though you've never leveled with me like this before, I'm going to go talk to Amaram about this that doesn't sound like him".
#all the light eyes except Shallan are driving me nuts currently#and even she is on thin ice because she's now a slave owner#and she doesn't get a cookie for being 'a good slave owner'#words of radiance spoilers#words of radiance#kaladin stormblessed

Inside me there are two wolves. One really likes the idea of Gwyn and Azriel being together. The other thinks she deserves better than a man who tortures people as part of his job. And it's not like he's asking for a career change, so he's not exactly bothered by it to the point of trying to get out of it in any way, either.
#if he got a career change I'd be all over that but alas he has me sitting on the fence#acotar#gwyneth berdara#azriel
