Hey all, just a quick update, I'm so so so sorry for the lack of a China debrief I've had such a hectic week and I've been precariously holding shit together. I'll be back with one after Japan, I promise!

I will mention in here though of course Redbulls latest victim and victim-to-be. I have all the faith in Yuki, I love him and I sincerely hope he does well because he is entirely capable but if records stand to show, amazing drivers can still be fucked by Redbull. Liam was hit hard by the system but it could've been much worse and I think he'll do much better with a chance to grow in the Vcarb as opposed to a high-stakes top team seat driving against Max fucking Verstappen. I wish them both the best but I am, of course, in mourning of Yuki and Isacks teammateship.

Holy fuck if that wasn't a good way to start off the season I don't know what is. I have SO MUCH to say so buckle in.

First and foremost Lando's win, I woke up this morning to the McLaren app notification and was fuming that I'd forgotten to turn them off. It was a cracking race for him to be honest, you can really see how much improvement he's made since last season, there were a few mistakes but honestly in those conditions that's to be expected. Well deserved Driver of the Day.

Then there's Oscar, a not so exciting finish as the Australian Home Race curse continues this weekend however he did have an excellent drive barring the lap where he dropped back to 13th. But of course, since it's Oscar Piastri, his recovery drive was fantastic to watch, especially the move on Hamilton at the end. It's obvious he'll be a contender for the drivers championship this season.

The rookies, bless their souls, did not know what was going to hit them with a wet Australia. Every one of them ending the race prematurely (including Fernando) except Ollie Bearman and Kimi Antonelli. Bearmans weekend was not all that spectacular though because it's hard to do very well in a Grand Prix when you're driving a fiat 500 against racecars. The Haas looks shocking this year in the worst way possible and I think everyone worrying about Esteban taking out Ollie should've focused more on the threat of a shit car because at this rate they've got so much space between them and the rest of the field that they don't need to get close enough to see eachother let alone touch. Antonelli, on the other hand, had an amazing race going from 16th to 4th (with the help of six DNFs), even if he had've kept the penalty it would've been a worthy drive. And of course, I can't not mention Lewis Hamilton's dad comforting Isack after he crashed out on the formation lap, it was so sweet to watch and my heart literally broke for him omg.

The pace on the Williams looks extremely good and it's a shame we couldn't see Carlos getting a feel for the car more and showcasing his abilities in it. Alex Albon had an incredible race though and as seen through the icon that is Lily Muni-He's story, something to be proud of.

Overall it was a chaotic but entertaining start to the season with a shit ton of memorable moments but I think we can all agree the best part of the entire grand Prix was Charles being a sassy diva on the radio when Ferrari showcase their adept ability to not help anyone with anything. 'Add that to the words of wisdom' is definitely a new F1 line I'll be quoting way too often.

Finally, Ferraris strategy is fucked. As per.

Hey everyone!

I'm really sorry for the late ass opinions I've been away and travelling but I got back a few hours ago so I'm going to push this out now before I catch up on sleep 😂, apologies for any errors that are bound to be around, I'm severely sleep deprived and this will not be a particularly masterful post. 😭🙏

Sauber - I like the fade quite a bit to be honest but it's quite similar to last years. They do get extra credit though because honestly it's hard to make a nice livery when battling that shade of green.

Williams - Swear someone just stuck an Atlassian logo on the 2024 car and called it a day?? Looks good though, no complaints really.

Vcarb - I hate it. I despise it. I detest it. She's UGLY ugly. Like what is the fake fade with BULL LOGOS???? Just no. Yet another reason to get my boy Yuki in the RedBull asap.

Haas - I like it icl. I think it's nice but it had to grow on me, I wasn't much of a fan at first, I'm not even really sure why, it just didn't speak to me. Or it whispered slightly distasteful comments anyway.

Alpine - I actually really like the blue, I think it's more true to their full colour scheme and gives more of a full Alpine vibe.

Aston Martin - Pretty much the exact same as last year but I love how the line green makes the racing green pop. Bonus points for a wicked intro.

Mercedes - Okay I genuinely need to know what changed here?? Am I just blind???

RedBull - Honestly really disappointing, surprise surprise it's basically a carbon copy of last year, but I saw such gorgeous concept designs people have made on titkok that would've been so much nicer. Also they had such a boring intro, it's a wonder I made it to the fucking reveal.

Ferrari - I love the white stripe I think it really makes the red pop, however it has apparently become a source of racist Instagram reels jokes. And ofc I can't not mention the HP logo, or rather logos, at this point they should just make the car blue.

McLaren - Basically the same as last year too, nothing particularly groundbreaking but always a pretty car to see on track.

I have a couple random things to cover from the past couple days-weeks so here it goes I guess:

First off, Williams getting a title sponsor, making McLaren the only team on the grid without one. To be honest, I don't really have an opinion on it other than that Atlassian sounds blue and fits Williams 100%.

Then there's the eye-sore of a McLaren testing livery that was announced. HELL NO. I genuinely despise it, I don't even know what it is about it, it's just not it for me and makes me want to gauge out my eyes. Plus the race suits aren't much better they kinda look like bin bags 😭😭🙏 the only thing I liked from this release was the side view silhouette of Lando we got in the build up 🥲 PRAYING on my hands and knees for a better full-season livery.

And third, Oscar Piastri. On live. The poor guy only lasted a couple minutes but it was WELL worth it. For those who missed it, he had a giggle at the comments, showed his new helmet in a bit more detail, told us about how cold Silverstone was and talked about the 'cool' livery launch!! Whoever's idea that was is a literal icon for the ages.
