    Chapter 7: Flower With Deadly Teeth 

“A demo what?” Milah splutters out in utter disbelief at what she is hearing to which this exclamation captures Nova’s attention. Upon looking at the youngster Nova noticed a searing red mark across her cheek, it was clear to Nova that this was a handprint. Nova had a suspicion that something more had happened whilst she was away from the group, being the peacekeeper of sorts Nova was efficient in keeping everyone calm and thinking rationally. Nova narrows her eyes suspiciously at Milah “Milah, what has happened to your face? You don’t just gain a red handprint mark across your face from nothing.” Milah places her hand back on the heat of her cheek as she looks at the older girl “Uh…Addie slapped me.” Milah replies coldly, Nova astounded at how quickly this group fell apart whilst she was gone looks over to her best friend and the girl who had apparently struck Milah. Nova sighs and groans “You, come with me. We need to talk…now” Addie squeaks and looks up at Royal who advises Addie to go and talk to Nova. Addie follows Nova over to a back store room within this grocery store, Nova allows Addie into the room before herself. Upon entering the room after Addie, Nova shuts the door and turns to Addie with an unimpressed expression and her arms folded across her chest. Addie knew this look all too well, she knew that she was about to get told off “Nova, I can explain..” Addie stutters out to Nova trying to gain sympathy from her best friend. “Yes, you better explain how that eighteen-year-old girl has got a red handprint mark across her cheek, what the fuck happened Addie?” Nova asks sternly, needing to know what textbook bitchy drama had unfolded clearly at the hands of Addie. “Novs, you have to understand I was in a very vulnerable headspace and emotionally. I thought you were fucking dead! Milah decided that she didn’t care about you literally sacrificing yourself for our safety, she was saying some shit about you and then started trying it on with Royal.” Addie explains to Nova, who just facepalms and groans “So you hit her? I really couldn’t care about her talking shit about me, my family has endured a lot of that from this town as it is I'm practically immune to it. In case you haven’t realised the severity of the situation we are in Addie, we are surrounded by fucking Demogorgans..fucking flowers with killer fucking teeth. We don’t have time for you two to be bitching and causing a fight ok? Please tell me you apologised for hitting her?” Addie nods at her best friend and looks at the littered floor “Yeah I did, I sought comfort from Royal whilst I…we thought you were dead and well he made it clear to Milah that he wasn’t interested in the slightest in her, Nova he fucking kissed my head!” Addie shares this almost gossip-like information as they once did before all this ordeal began. Nova shook her head not in a disapproving way but more so because she had spent years being Addie and Royal’s third wheel to say the least Nova was disgruntled “Well it’s good you apologised, I hope she took it. But then again I wouldn’t expect her to at the same time. Addie, have you actually told Royal about your feelings for him? It’s clear that he feels the same for you. You need to do something.” Nova thinks for a moment before coming up with the perfect suggestion, though Nova was rational and very to the point she too could inhabit some very chaotic ideas “Addie, we both know that within this group Royal is like the Hargrove…Why don’t you just kiss him and see how he responds to that?” 

   Addie looked at Nova wide-eyed as she suggested that Addie should just kiss Royal. “W…what?! Just go up to Royal and kiss him? Are you insane? I don’t think I can do that.” Addie groans and runs her hands through her hair. “What if he doesn’t kiss me back?”Nova chuckles playfully at the expense of her best friend, she loved Addie like a sister but this opportunity to poke fun at her was all too enticing, Nova stands with her arms now falling to her sides and her hands assuming a very familiar stance “Oh come on Ads! Don’t try and tell me you don’t wanna pounce on that boy, you have that style of confidence and I’m sure as hell that Royal won’t make the first move. Now you can either take my advice or you both just dance around each other until you are in your graves getting absolutely nowhere. Your choice Ads, You want him you have to go get him before someone else gets him, you’ve already got a threat of that within this group.” Nova shrugs and playfully mutters under her breath, she was teasing Addie which she knew was going to make her pissed off at her for a few minutes but also make her think at the same time. “Milah may swipe Royal up, she seems to have the nerve to do it.” Nova smirked to herself, she knew that this would potentially get Addie’s ass into gear and do something…Anything. Addie groaned in frustration at Nova’s words. She knew that Nova was right and that needed to make the first move on Royal. Addie wasn’t going to let Milah get to Royal before she did. “You’re right. I’m not going to let Milah get to Royal before me. I’m going to do something about it. I’m going to make my move.” With that being said, Addie walked out of the room she and Nova were in. Addie made her way to the front of the store again toward Royal. She was damned determined to have Royal as hers. Addie walked straight up to Royal without a second thought. She could feel Milah’s eyes on her with every step she took. Addie stopped in front of Royal. She didn’t say anything. She just wrapped her arm around Royal’s neck, placing her hand on the back of his head. Addie leans up and presses her lips to Royal’s in a passionate kiss. Royal was taken off guard by Addie’s boldness, upon feeling her lips collide with his own, feeling a wave of relief and electricity go through his system he kissed Addie back passionately, their lips moving as one in perfect sync, it became apparent within that very moment where they belonged. Royal could feel Milah’s eyes burning through his body as she watched the passionate kiss unfold. Nova was soon to walk out of the store room into the front of the store once more, she stopped by Blade as her eyes fell on Addie and Royal passionately kissing, she mutters to Blade “About fucking time she listened to me”

                           Chapter 6: Firecracker

   Addie looks toward the door when she hears the voice. She knows that voice all too well. She looks up at Royal, with tears streaming down her face, laughing. “Speak of the fucking devil!” Addie wiggles out of Royal’s arms and runs to the door. She gently moves Milah out of the way and opens the door. Addie finds Nova in the hands of some guy. “Nova!” Royal swiftly follows Addie’s tracks and his eyes smile largely seeing Nova unhurt and in the arms of some random tall dude with white hair “Uh..who is this Nova?” Royal quizzically asks. Nova laughs and smirks at Addie’s reaction “Well shit Addie thanks for reminding me of my name, not that I've fucking forgotten it or something!” Nova looks over at Royal “Hey dickhead, this is Blade the asshat that just picked my ass up from my brother” Blade chuckles “I figured that you wouldn’t want your ringleader to die, I was watching, pretty selfless for this pretty little thing to let you all go on ahead” Addie laughs at Nova’s sass. She looks at Blade. “Thank you for saving Nova.” Addie had happy tears falling down her face as she looked at Nova. She had thought she had lost her best friend. Nova scowls and playfully narrows her eyes at Blade, she kicks Blade lightly in the balls as a warning “Hey! I might be small but shit I can fucking bite back!” Blade groans and drops the small girl onto the floor to clutch his special region, Nova cackles and lands on her feet almost feline like in nature “why did you do that?!” Blade groans, Royal winces as he sees Nova even though it was light the pain he could see in Blade's face sent a sympathy pain into his groin. Addie sniffles and laughs at her best friend's antics “Y..you're still here! And you're still you!” Nova rolls her eyes in a playful manner at Addie as she was stating the literal obvious “well duh! I'm still me, who else would I be? The freaking president or some shit?” Nova giggles sarcastically. Milah and Aether were both very happy to see the return of the scary but nice small girl, Aether gets up from the floor and does a cute little jog over to the others, he was starting to feel like he belonged. This was a first for him, Aether once reaching the rest of the party smiles happily at Nova “I'm so happy to see you alive” Aether glances back towards his sister whom was in complete shock in Nova's return and how gentle Addie was in moving her aside, conflicting feelings were coursing through Milah's system. 

   As Blade recovers from the light attack from Nova a loud crash is heard that catches the attention of everyone else, looking over with wide and fearful eyes Nova, Addie, Royal, Blade and Aether's eyes fall upon one of these creatures but this creature appeared more advanced, the growths on its face had elongated and curved almost creating petal like shaped appendages, Aether was curious he wanted a closer look at this thing. “Yeah, it's time to you know…lock up shop” Nova suggests to which Blade agrees, Royal notices something about Blade that no one else had picked up, Royal observes that Blade hasn't once looked in the direction of this more advanced creature but rather he had kept his eyes down and on Nova for some reason. “Yes, everyone inside now!” Blade instructs. Addie knew the dangers and so did Royal, there was no telling them twice as they hastily make their way back into their now base camp, Blade ushers Nova inside to which she flips him off and shoves Blade into the door of the grocery store, “Oof! Ok, ok I'm going.” Blade mutters as he rubs his nose on his entrance into base camp. The only people left outside now was Nova and Aether, Aether starts taking steps closer to the advanced creature which Nova grabs him “Hey! Listen to me, you really don't want to find out what that thing does. Get your ass into the store right now Aether” Aether though wanting to approach this thing he knew if he didn't want his ass handed to him, face certain death and lose friends all at the same time. 

   Reluctantly Aether makes it look like he was going to buck it into the grocery store but instead runs towards the creature, to Nova's annoyance “fucking kids” She grumbles as she chases after Aether. Aether gets closer to this creature which was coming closer and closer to him, its petal like features seemed a little familiar to Nova, she remembered something that her brother was talking about in one of his hellfire club's campaigns, a creature called the Demogorgon, upon the realisation that this once human was now turning into a Demogorgon her blood runs cold. “Aether, I'm not kidding you need to come back here right now” Nova warns the rebellious youngster, the creature roars out as its petal like appendages were growing something like razor sharp teeth, Aether sees this which immediately frightens him turning back and running behind Nova “get your ass back inside right now Aether, we will be having words” Nova through her gritted teeth mutters to Aether. Making a quick dash back into the safety of the grocery store Aether reunites with his sister who was still standing, completely shocked, Blade looks at Aether “OK, squirt where is Nova now?” Addie nods worriedly looking at the door whilst remaining close by to Royal, Aether looks completely shaken as he glances over to Blade, his naturally fair skin had turned Porcelain white. Nova comes back into the grocery store backwards and shuts the door “Barricade that bitch right now” She instructs to which Royal and Blade rush to put anything and everything in front of the door, once satisfied that they were safe for now Nova looks at Aether “I really don't know what your plan was there, but it was a fucking stupid one. Don't ever defy me again, got it?” Aether looks Nova in the eyes, he could see she was dead serious he meekly nods and mutters an apology to her before hiding behind his sister. “What was that, Novs?” Addie asks her best friend, Nova looks at Addie who she knew had been a part of her brother's campaigns “Remember the Demogorgons?” Addie thinks on this for a brief moment before her eyes widen “y..yeah? Why?” Nova takes a breath before telling her best friend what she had just witnessed “The creatures are evolving, those growths they had around their faces well, they've turned into petal like appendages with teeth. They are turning into Demogorgons.” Addie's jaw drops and her heart sinks.

                         Chapter 5: Saving Blade 

 

   Addie was sitting in the secluded corner completely numb, thinking her best friend had sacrificed herself for them. She didn’t know what to do or think now. She had silent tears running down her face as she thought about what Nova did for them. Royal glances over checking on Addie as he knows that this that had just transpired is going to hurt her, his heart hurts for her knowing what Nova meant to her. Milah and Aether nosey around the shelves and refrigerators, they gather up a selection of different foods and drinks that were sparsely remaining with their arms full they make their way back over to Royal “Here, we found these. Will this do?” Milah speaks almost very eagerly to Royal, she was trying to impress him. Addie hears Milah’s eagerness to impress Royal. She may be at a point where she is numb but hearing this made her blood boil. Addie stands up and snaps. “Milah, now is not the time for that! Do you think this is a fucking game? My best friend just sacrificed herself to save us and you are flirting with Royal. What the hell is wrong with you?” Milah snaps her head over to Addie with a scowl “Bitch, I don’t know that girl and frankly, I couldn’t care less if she was your best friend! As Royal said he is single and I want in!”  Hearing Milah say this only pissed Addie off more. She storms over to Milah and slaps her across the face. “Listen here, you ungrateful bitch! Nova helped save your ass! So the least you could do is show some fucking respect!” Milah held her cheek that had a blistering pain soaring through it after Addie struck her, Royal decided to step in “Both of you knock it off! Milah I’m not interested in you so quit whilst you’re ahead, kissing my ass isn’t going to help your case. Addie, you need to gather your thoughts. I’m just as upset over Nova as you are but she did what she needed to and she died to save us. Think of it this way, what would Nova suggest in this situation?” Addie looks at Royal after losing her temper at Milah. She slowly starts to break down in tears. “She wouldn’t want us fighting each other. She would probably beat the shit out of me for what I just did.” Addie sadly laughs at the thought. She walks over to Royal and looks up at him. Addie wraps her arms around him seeking comfort from him after losing Nova. Royal is initially taken aback by this sudden affection from the distraught Addie but given he had an opportunity to be close to her he wraps his muscular arms around her giving her the comfort she requires. Royal chuckles softly “Yeah, she would. But that’s our Nova.” Aether places down the stuff he and his sibling had collected and smiles softly watching both Royal and Addie embracing, he looks over to his dumbfounded sister who is still holding her cheek “Sis, maybe you shouldn’t try and step on Addie’s toes.” 

   Addie stayed in Royal’s arms, feeling safe and at home. She still had tears rolling down her face. “I’m sorry I lost my temper. I just couldn��t take what Milah was doing and saying. I let my emotions take control of me and I lost it.” Royal holds Addie in his warm embrace and gives into his temptation. Softly pressing a comforting kiss to the top of Addie’s head “I know, I know. It isn’t me you have to apologise to Addie you know that.” Milah sits down on an overturned box rubbing her cheek as the stinging pain dulls, her brother sits down on the floor beside her. Addie couldn’t help the blush that crossed her face as she felt Royal kiss the top of her head. She laid her head on his chest and sighed. “I know, I need to apologise to Milah for slapping her.” Addie looks over at Milah, staying in Royal’s arms. “Milah, I’m sorry for slapping you and going off the way I did. I just couldn’t control myself after what happened to Nova.” Milah doesn’t respond to Addie just nods in acknowledgment, being struck like that, Milah had now formed a vendetta against Addie and she was going to sabotage her any way she could. Aether nudges his sister’s legs to prompt her, Milah side glances at Addie with a mean look in her eyes “Yeah. Whatever. I’m here with my brother to survive, not to make friends, and definitely not with you.” Aether interrupts his sister “I’m sorry, what my sister means is that she accepts your apology and we will work together without fighting right Milah?” Aether looks at his sister, and they both exchange conflicting looks to each other before Milah sighs “Yeah yeah, whatever he said” Royal shakes his head and keeps Addie firmly in his arms, in case this is going to blow up once more he knows what Addie was like. Addie sighs and closes her eyes. She tried to be the bigger person and apologise for her actions against Milah. But it was clear to her that Milah wasn’t going to accept it. “Look, Milah, I understand you don’t like me. I am trying to do right and apologise to you for what I did. I am not trying to make friends with you.” Milah narrows her eyes spitefully at Addie “I really couldn’t care what some rich kid says to me honestly, why don’t you go back home since you're clearly not from here?” Royal pipes up “Hey! Fuck that off right now, you don’t know Addie and she doesn’t know you. Just be civil with her and if you can’t then there’s the door.” Milah gets up and storms towards the door to her brother's disbelief before she could even grasp the door handle a loud knocking comes to the door startling Milah, and making her fall on her ass, Aether jumps and yelps to the noise and looks at Royal with widened eyes. Royal keeping hold of Addie looks to the door “Who is it?” he calls out. 

     “Open the fucking door! Don’t make me kick it down!” comes an all too familiar fiery voice.

Toxic Breathing

                Chapter 4: Run Away Baby!

   The five take off running with Royal and Addie leading the way for Milah and Aether and Nova following up the rear making sure no one is left behind. The incoherent sound of growling and groans starts to double in size behind Nova, the streets full of debris and bodies of those who would be somewhat familiar to Addie and Nova “Addie! Do not look at the ground! Whatever you do, don't do it!” Nova shouts out to Addie as the five continue to run, she had seen the bodies of Joyce Byers and Jim Hopper just discarded on the floor, they were holding each other in the face of their demise nearby were the bodies of Mike Wheeler and Will Byers they both had a hold of each others hands typical Mike up until the end to never let go of Will. Addie screams as she sees these familiar bodies but her eyes course over to the lifeless body of Eleven, dried blood coming from one of her nostrils like she had tried to fight this but to no avail, Addie's legs become weak seeing these young bodies just left there on the floor like they had zero meaning in this world anymore. Aether as he runs sees the body of his beloved love interest Billy Hargrove completely torn apart, his eyes swimming with pain-stricken tears. Aether knew that he had helped Billy survive the attack on Starcourt Mall and now seeing Billy with no innards and an unrecognisable face, he felt his sister squeeze his hand acknowledging the pain that Aether was feeling but still they continued to run following Addie and Royal. Addie’s eyes land on the alive face of one Gareth Emerson, someone she had become very close to over the years, the pleading look in Gareth’s eyes meets Addie’s, “Gareth! I’m coming!” Addie yells out to Gareth, Gareth merely shakes his head no as a shadowy form appears behind him. In a mere moment Gareth was there he was quickly gone. This struck Addie hard in the chest convinced she would never see the loveable drummer boy again, Royal grabbed Addie “Now isn’t the time! We need to get away to safety! Come on!” The ground rumbles beneath their feet. 

   Several large gaping openings tear through the ground and weird particles that almost look like snow explode into the air, Milah lost her footing as the ground shook and she tumbled onto the floor once more dragging her clumsy brother with her. Nova runs up and grabs the pair dragging them across the floor. There is no time to wait for them to get back to their feet “Weeee!!” both Milah and Aether laugh as they get dragged. As Nova dragged the brother-sister duo along with her, her ocean-blue eyes fell upon a sight she really didn’t want to see, it sent a crushing pain to her chest as she stopped static, Royal and Addie had also saw the sight that Nova’s eyes had befalls, Addie turns to Nova with a sorrowful look “Novs…I'm so sorry” Nova didn’t respond nor did her eyes leave the body that was before her, it was her brother Eddie. It looked like his body had been ejected from these cracks that had opened all over Hawkins, he was clutching something, and this something was something both Addie and Nova recognized “I..is that?” Nova stutters as she approaches the tangled body of her brother, once beside her idiot brother she collapses to her knees, “H..he’s holding the heart-shaped locket that our mom had left for us, m..my brother had taken out the picture of mom and dad and replaced it with a picture of Steve.” Milah and Aether slowly get up from the ground and walk over to Nova, the sound of the growling was coming up behind them quickly “W..we need to go!” Addie tells Nova trying to drag her away from Eddie’s body but Nova refuses to move. “Just go! Leave me!” Nova shouted at the four, she wasn’t going to move easily away from her brother, she didn’t care if these creatures were running to her location. Addie doesn’t want to leave her best friend behind but Royal doesn’t really give her a choice as he picks her up over his shoulder and starts running which Milah and Aether follow. 

  The four finally find their way into an abandoned grocery store, panting for breath Royal slams the door shut and immediately starts ensuring the perimeter is secure and that nothing can get in, Addie just stares ahead numb to the core knowing that her best friend had just sacrificed herself to save the four, tears just pour from her green eyes as she backs up into a secluded corner and falls to the floor. Milah and Aether check each other over making sure they are not hurt in any way, they didn’t quite understand what the hell was happening but they knew if they didn’t stick with Addie and Royal they were certain to die. Aether breathing heavily looked around the environment they had found themselves in, “Surely there is food in here right?” he asked this was the most logical question he had ever asked in his life, Royal looked over at the smaller boy and smiled “Yeah, I would say so why don’t you and your sister go and see what you can gather up, we are going to need all the resources and food we can find. This world, this town is completely fucked”

    Toxic Breathing

                          Chapter 3: Trouble Awaits

   Royal sighed and reached out to Addie to bring her away from the rebellious pair who had seemingly decided to remain on the dirty floor, with a swift swipe Nova slapped Royal’s hand away “Hey! Come on now that wasn’t fair! I didn’t do anything!” Royal protests trying to fain innocence, Nova rounds on Royal with a glare “Do not and I repeat Do NOT touch my best friend otherwise I will feed that hand to the zombie motherfuckers so quickly you won't know what has hit you” Nova warns with somewhat of a growl. Addie snorts at Nova’s threat; she is still keeping up with the guise that she had zero interest in Royal; this only prompts a glare that feels like it is burning into the back of her head from Nova. Both Milah and Aether watch on very confused and amused by these people, to  Milah and Aether Addie seemed nice, Nova seemed stern and fiery and Royal was the asshole. ”Alright shit I won't touch her just quit hitting me” Royal gives in verbally but in his mind, he was going to touch Addie when he got a chance to be close to her. Addie squeaked quietly trying to hide that she desperately wanted to be touched by the very guy who in her mind was her high school sweetheart, this quiet squeak wasn't as quiet as she would have liked it to be. Royal blinks a few times at Addie as he hears her squeak, he smirks as he walks back into the abandoned bus, and the sound of an acoustic guitar is heard being played within the rusted confines of this bus, Nova shakes her head she knows what Royal’s game was here and what he was trying to do “Fucking trying to be some sort a terrible romantic or some shit there, he isn’t even all that good at playing I've heard a 5-year-old play better than him” Nova mutters disgruntled.

  Addie snaps her head around to Nova as she hears her muttering about Royal’s guitar-playing abilities “Hey! Why do you have to be so mean to him? Everybody starts somewhere!” Addie narrowed her eyes at her best friend, sometimes Addie hated Nova’s bluntness but it was a conflicting thing for her as she loved her best friend but also hated her at times. Nova shrugs unbothered by Addie’s question “Oh come on Addie, please don’t tell me you’re going to go in there and be serenaded by that god-awful noise” Addie stutters torn by this opportunity, her face flushes rose red as she quickly looks away from the fiery Munson, Addie could still hear Royal playing inside of the bus she bites her lip hard and closes her eyes to regain her composure, sure she wanted to piss off her best friend but she knew that Nova wouldn't let her live this down. “That’s what I thought, keep your dignity and you don't want to give off the wrong impression to the newcomers” Nova looks at Milah and Aether and tilts her head slightly as she shoos Addie away from them, she holds her hand out to them ready to help them up, Aether takes Nova’s hand and stands up dragging his sibling with him. Milah stumbles as Aether drags her up but remains to have a tight hold of his hand she too was also enamoured by Royal and wanted to follow him inside of the bus. Nova catches onto this as she sees Milah’s eyes at the entrance of the bus, she thinks to herself ‘Oh boy this is going to be a long day’ Nova runs her hand down her face and looks over towards Addie to find that she had seemingly vanished “Addie? Oh, you have got to be kidding me!” Milah giggles softly and finally pipes up “She went where that hot guy went didn’t she?” Aether looks over at his sister in surprise and disbelief but shakes his head to ignore it. Nova glances at Milah “Yeah she did, fucking Christ! I’m so sorry about this…wait…did you just call Royal hot?” Milah blushes crimson red and nods her head “Oh believe me Milah is it? You don't want to go there let’s just say Royal is somewhat spoken for” Nova informs Milah, Nova though didn’t want to give away Addie’s clear obsession with Royal, she had to protect her best friend’s feelings and she didn’t want to deal with a depressed Addie…again. 

  “Alright, come on let's go inside before someone sees us” Nova sighs and leads Milah and Aether inside the bus apprehensive of what they may find. Upon walking inside the bus Nova finds Addie and Royal sitting on separate sides of the bus side glancing at each other every so often “Really?” Nova questions both Addie and Royal exhausted with the dancing around each other these two had been doing for such a long, Nova just wanted either Addie or Royal to finally do something about this clear tension between them. “What? I’m just sitting here uh looking out of the window” Addie answers without looking over at Nova, almost like she was trying to hide it from her best friend but this wasn’t fooling Nova, Milah, and Aether in the slightest, Aether steps forward and speaks up in his very soft tone “Don’t you two have feelings for each other? I'm sure I heard my sister call that guy hot” Addie’s head finally snaps over to glare at Aether and Milah “Excuse me? She said what now?” Royal places down the guitar as he watches this drama unfold, he loves seeing Addie getting all fired up, and he licks his lips slightly “So what if she thinks I'm hot Addie? I’m single, remember?” Nova’s eyes widen and she takes a step back just letting them have this out, she gently guides Aether and Milah back with her almost like a human shield. Addie’s eyes glare at Royal “Yeah sure you're single but she’s some random! You don't know her!” Royal smirks enjoying this temper from Addie “I might not know her but there is no harm in finding love in the apocalypse. Besides I don’t know any girl that is interested in me” Addie glares at Royal more as he says that to her. Her anger boils over and goes off on him. “You don’t know any girl interested in you? Really? Do you not have eyes? Do you not fucking see me in front of you? Am I fucking invisible to you? For years I have been trying to figure out the best way to tell you how I feel about you and this other comes along and you want to get to know her. What the fuck, Royal?!” Nova looks at her best friend as Addie rants and rages at Royal completely blowing up over this forgetting they are in the middle of an apocalypse “Oh shit! Uh, Addie…”

   Addie looks over at her best friend as the realisation hits her of what she just said. Her eyes widen in horror at her words and she covers her face. “Oh my God! I did not just say all of that.” Nova sighs and facepalms “Yes, you fucking did! Are you fucking kidding me right now, Addie?! Also, have you fucking forgot we are in a fucking apocalypse?! And your fucking shou….oh…” Royal snorts and starts laughing at Nova’s mishap, “I think the word you're looking for there is shouting'' Royal laughs. Addie looked out the window of the bus to make sure nothing was attracted to their shouting. Their shouting could have been heard by anything that was nearby. Addie turns back to everyone on the bus and leans back against the wall of the bus. “I hope nothing heard all of that. I was stupid for shouting.” Milah narrows her eyes at Addie she knew there was going to be a war over who gets Royal “Maybe you may get your bitchy ass eaten, do the world a favour” Nova yanks Milah back and rounds on her “Alright newbie, you are not about to talk to MY best friend like that ok? Because believe me I have no issues sending your slutty ass to the grave early. It won't weigh heavy on my conscious so I would suggest you sort your attitude and respect your fucking elders!” Addie looks at Nova as her best friend goes off on Milah for what she said. She snorts and holds in her laughter at the look on Milah’s face. “I would keep in mind, Milah, you have no say in what happens here. The only one who has any say is Nova. So keep your bitchy mouth fucking shut.” Nova slowly turns her face to Addie and glares at her, Addie is starting to test her patience. Addie looks at Nova and knows what that look means. She bites her lip and immediately shuts up. “Sorry. I’m shutting up now. I won’t say anything like that to her again. Don’t hurt me.”  Nova nods her head in acknowledgment and looks at Milah and Aether “There are some things you need to know when being a part of this group, I am the oldest and the scariest. I will not think twice about throwing you out to the creatures, I really don’t care. In this new world, it's either kill or be killed. So follow the rules and you will be fine. Got it?” Milah and Aether nod their heads quickly in understanding at Nova, Milah gulps hard as Nova tells her and her brother that it is the reality of the new world of Hawkins they are living, not surviving in. Royal glances over Addie and winks subtly at her causing Addie to squeal quietly to herself as this happens a loud thud hits the window, drawing the attention of everyone within the bus. Addie screams as they look upon a zombified creature that had just face-planted the window, Aether chuckles and hollers over “Hey! I did that earlier! Glass doesn’t taste great!” Royal hurriedly grabs Addie and shoves her towards the exit of the bus “Get the fuck out of here now!” Nova shoves Milah, Aether, Addie, and Royal out of the bus “Fucking run now! I'm right behind you!”

    Toxic Breathing

Chapter 2: Lock and Loaded

  Milah and her younger brother Aether flee as far away as possible but within the sprint holding tightly to one another's hand Aether spots the movement of an abandoned bus that makes him halt in his tracks in turn yanking his sister to a stop “W...what is it?” Milah pants out heavily as she questions why they had stopped, Aether nudges her to look over to the bus to which obvious movement was shaking the bus. The curious nature of this pair takes over and they make a sprint for the bus to explore and find out what was making this bus shake and jerk around, upon closer inspection Milah spots some people within this bus, Aether shoves his face on the glass panel to look closer, the people within the bus were youngsters like Milah and Aether. They startle in surprise as the thud of Aether's nose pressing against the window shocks them, one of the guys pulls out a shotgun and points it at the window “Who are you!?” He demands, Aether falls backward off the window and on top of his sister landing on the floor in a pile “I...I'm Aether and this is my sister Milah '' Aether answers the guy's demands and he groans. 

  

  Two of the girls within the bus come out and look upon Milah and Aether, one of them had mid-length black frizzy hair she was quite small standing at only 4ft 11 inches tall and the other girl had long raven hair, she seemed quite wealthy to say the least she kneels “Hey there, ignore Royal he's trying to be protective” she speaks with a soft voice with a Scottish twang to it, Milah looks at the girls as she shoves her brother off her “Who are you?” She questions quizzically with a raised brow. The shorter girl stepped forward, she spoke with a stern voice “I'm Nova Munson and this is Addie Marwood, are you two lost?” Milah and Aether glanced at each other; it was almost like they knew what each other was thinking, the brother and sister duo speaking in sync with one another as they looked at the two older girls. Addie and Nova both look at one another and then back at the two that are still on the floor as they ramble away with themselves in perfect sync. “Woah,woah woah slow down! Ok, so your parents have gotten killed by…something? A creature you say? Was this creature like a human?” Addie interrupts the brother-sister duo, they are rambling so fast that both Nova and Addie only catch the key points though Milah and Aether were rambling pure word vomit for at least 10 minutes. Milah gasps for air as she takes a breath between her words meanwhile Aether looks at Addie and smiles at her softly “Y..yeah it was like a human but its eyes…they were bloodied and hungry. It had growths all over it. It was weird.” Addie doesn't look surprised by this revelation, she is more clued in with what is going on in Hawkins. The guy who had pointed the shotgun at Aether steps out of the bus and walks behind Addie keeping his distance but occasionally giving her a longing look. Addie was none the wiser of the looks Royal was giving her, Nova facepalms as she watches between Addie and Royal, she walks over to Royal and slaps him around the head “You are an idiot you know that?” Royal rubs his head and scowls at Nova “Ow! What was that for, you ass!” Addie shook her head and refused to look at the bicker that was transpiring behind her, as much as she wanted to look at Royal and his physique she didn’t want to give it away that she wanted to pounce on Royal so badly but she also knew that Nova would pull her by her hair off him and judge her harshly for it. 

   “Because you first pointed a fucking shotgun at that poor boy and second I fucking saw that cringy look you gave to my best fucking friend!” Nova crosses her arms across her chest and scowls back at Royal, she was protecting Addie's dignity, she knows what her best friend was like and she also knew that Addie harboured the same feelings for Royal. Addie wasn't specifically quiet to Nova about her growing feelings for Royal; it had been years in the making. Addie sighed and looked at Aether and Milah who had remained on the floor and their expressions were completely perplexed at the events happening behind her back, clearing her throat Addie softly smiled at the two “Well, we can’t let you two stay alone out here the world has gone completely sideways. I don't know how much you two understand but a lot of the adults here have….changed. They are more violent and are hunting those that are still living down as their next meal.” Royal’s head snaps over to Addie as he hears her offering the duo to accompany them “What? No! Addie, we have enough issues dealing with ourselves let alone these two.” Nova once more slaps Royal around the head as she looks at the two “Ignore this asshat, what he means is that we all have to stick together if we are going to survive.”

Toxic Breathing

A Survival story by Ripley Salem

                 Chapter 1: Sudden Shift.

It was the year of 1986 in Hawkins, Indiana and all appeared to be running as normally as a small town should. People were going to work, seeing their friends, kids on the bikes roaming around until one fateful day, Hawkins Laboratory were having some inside issues and were trying their hardest to contain it so the people were safe. 

   Amongst the quiet town were a family, the Myers. Vyneo, Krystal and their two children Milah and Aether, they lived pretty close by to the lab but nothing was out of the ordinary. Krystal was cooking she enjoyed being a stay at home wife and mother, Vyneo was an supportive husband and brought in an income for the family via working at the lab but today was his day off so he was playing ball with his son and daughter in the backyard. 

Milah and Aether were a year apart in age, Milah at the age of 18 and young Aether at the age of 17 they had a very close sibling bond and were known to be inseparable. Both with high levels of curiosity they both tended to be bad influences on one another, getting themselves into trouble together. Milah and Aether had a tendency not to listen when told what to do, you could call them rebellious. Milah was around 5ft 4inches and had fair skin and Hazel eyes, she had a head full of long lilac locks that are clearly dyed. Aether was standing at around 5ft 2 inches so a little smaller than his sibling, he has grey eyes matching his father's whilst milah matched her mother's. Aether has a head full of short lilac hair once more clearly dyed at the possible influence of his sister. 

  All was well and the three were having a lot of fun, upon a few hours pass by and the sky had seemly darkened thinking nothing of this Vyneo ushers his children back towards the family home to which they hear a scream and then nothing. Both Milah and Aether jump and hold onto each other, they look at their father as they remain static where they are “you two wait right there, I'm going to see if your mother is ok” Vyneo informs his children, he makes his way back into the home but he doesn't seem to return back to Milah and Aether. There was no screaming or anything coming from the house, the lead Both Milah and Aether to look at each other pretty confused as to what was going on and why their father hadn't returned to them “maybe we should go check it out? I mean dad said he would be back and it's been like 10 minutes” Milah suggests to her younger brother, there was a sparkle of curiosity in her eyes as she looks upon Aether who simply nods in agreement to her suggestion, taking each others hand the pair make their way back into the home, something seemed off. 

  Milah and Aether walk back into their home together, there was a weird noise coming from the kitchen, almost a gurgling and a growl. It smelt horrible within the home not how it would usually smell, the regular aroma of their home was of vanilla and Cinnamon. Upon making their curious approach Aether speaks out “mom? Dad?” He questions to which he received no response, this was highly unusual as both Vyneo and Krystal were very attentive parents, the pair push open the door of the kitchen, the putrid smell only gets stronger and the growling gets louder. 

  Milah was the first to witness their parents lifeless on the floor, their blood had been splattered everywhere, every surface their blood was on. Milah's breath catches as she feel the pain of knowing her parents were dead, tears swam her eyes but the quickly shifts from sadness to fear as her eyes move over to where her mothers body was, it was clear that krystal had tried to defend herself as there was a sharp kitchen knife in her hand and towards her lower abdomen was this creature, humanoid but cannibalistic. Aether's eyes sees this creature feasting on the innards of his mother, it was a sight neither of them would be able to remove from their minds, Milah screams as she couldn't hold it back to which gains the attention of this humanoid creature, it looks up growling blood dripping off his face, its eyes if you could call them eyes were bloodied, filled with hunger and there was no life behind them. It stands up about ready to make its pursuit on the two late teenagers, its clothes tattered and torn, it had growths of something all over its body. It was clear that this thing whatever it was wasn't alive. 

  Aether starts backing away pulling his sister with him, the creature growls and starts running for them, Milah and Aether both scream and run out of their home, everything outside, the streets and everything they could see wasn't the quiet town they once knew, something was seriously wrong. They run as far as their legs would let them go.

I am currently writing another story, it has references to the stranger things Canon characters but they are not so much in it.

There is my oc stranger things character who is called Nova involved heavily in this story, she is Eddie's sister so there will be references but this story is an apocalypse style story!

FINAL CHAPTER!

                    Chapter 20: Night Terrors.

Steve's eyes open almost startled, but he was smiling “eds? Time to get up” he calls out, Robin lifts her head up off the floor where she was sleeping, her eyes sorrowful as she hears Steve calling for Eddie and the smile on his face, she was glad it wasn't tearful but she knew she would have to break the news again to him “Steve…Eddie isn't here remember? He died Steve” Steve looks in shock as he sees Robin, he shakes his head “n..no we were going to get married today and everything what do you mean he's not here?” Steve was confused as to what was going on, he looked to the side of him there was no sign of Eddie, his eyes peer around the room he sees Robin looking at him, Nancy asleep on the floor and nearby is Dustin sleeping also clinging onto Eddie's guitar pick Necklace. 

Steve breathing quickens as he starts to realise that everything was in his head, a dream no less. Tears swam in Steve's eyes as Robin sits next to him and brings him into a hug “you did everything you could Steve, he would be proud of you” Steve breaks down in the hug with Robin, he clings onto his best friend for dear life, how could his mind be so cruel to him? Robin softly rubs Steve's back as she lets him cry until he had no more tears to give, Dustin stirs and wakes to Steve's crying, he gets up and hobbles over to the bed and sits nearby “hey Steve? I know he would have wanted you to have this” Dustin holds the guitar pick Necklace, it was taking him alot to let go of it but he knew Steve loved Eddie with everything in him it was only right. 

Steve tearfully looks over at Dustin, trying to remain strong and not cry in front of the youngster he wipes his tears away quickly but they quickly return as he sees Dustin holding out the necklace “I…I can't take that from you Henderson, he meant alot to you as he did to me” Dustin remaining stubborn ushers the necklace at Steve “you love him Steve, you can wear this and have a piece of him with you..always” Steve takes the necklace and stares at it for a while there was dried blood over it, Steve brings to the necklace to his chest and closes his eyes tightly as tears streamed down his face “t..thank you Henderson..I.. it means a lot” Robin smiles softly at Dustin and they both hug Steve to comfort him. 

Nancy rouses from her slumber to see the trio cuddling Steve, she smiled sadly at them knowing that steve was struggling to cope with the loss of Eddie, she walks over to the record player and puts on some music at a low volume to make the room less quiet and to try and perk the mood up knowing it wouldn't work but the effort was there. 

Steve sighs as he thinks to himself almost as if he is talking to Eddie

                     Chapter 19: All just a dream. 

Many months go by Eddie had been living with Steve for quite some time now and they had learnt a lot about one another. Everyday that goes by the more in love with each other Eddie and Steve fall, Eddie had bought Steve his engagement ring and Steve wore it with utter pride. They had many late night discussions whilst cuddling in bed about their future together, the wedding plans and if they wanted to start raising a family together. 

Robin had come to visit several times to poke fun at Steve as she normally does and to make sure they were happy. One thing kept bugging both Steve and Eddie, it was about Gareth…was what they saw true? Eddie hoped that it wasn't he looks at Steve as Steve is making breakfast one morning “hey babe? Do you still think about what you saw? Gareth?” Steve sighs and looks over at his love “Eddie, it seemed so real to me he broke his back on the fall through the cracks in the road…he..he couldn't move the demogorgon got him” Steve soberly says, Eddie nods. 

“Maybe he isn't  babe, maybe it was just all in our heads, maybe it was all just a dream?” Steve laughs softly to this, he found it hard to believe that Gareth was ok but for his love if it made him feel better about this he would do anything “why don't we go and see him? Actually figure out if this is true” Steve suggests as he plates up some breakfast for his metalhead lover, Eddie smiles as Steve places his plate in front of him, the aroma of bacon, scrambled eggs, fried toast, sausages, hash brown floods Eddie's nose his stomach growls “thanks babe your the best” Eddie softly pecks Steve's lips and digs into his food acting like he had been starved. 

Steve smiles and sits down across from Eddie as he sips his coffee “only the best for the best husband a guy could ask for, only the best got my hero. We will go and find out after you've ate” Eddie smiles as he shovels the food down his throat, once finished he leans back and belches loudly as a sign of appreciation Steve knew this and he smiles and chuckles “your welcome babe” Eddie gets up from his chair and throws on some clothes his usual hellfire shirt and jeans Steve had already gotten dressed. Steve grabs his wallet and car keys before opening the front door “after you sweetheart” Steve smirks using Eddie's signature pet name, Eddie laughs and walks out to Steve's car getting into the passenger side he was nervous. 

Steve gets into the drivers side and pulls away from his house making his way to the Emerson home that wasn't too far away, Steve could tell that Eddie was nervous drumming on his thigh and lighting up a joint to calm himself “babe he might be perfectly OK like you said” Steve attempts to reassure Eddie. Steve pulls up outside the broken in half house, this told it all for both Steve and Eddie…what they saw was in fact real. “H..he's actually gone” Eddie utters out dropping his head, Steve places his hand on Eddie's thigh “babe, you know this wasn't his doing” Eddie nods “p..please let's just go” Steve pulls away from the ruin that once was the Emerson home. 

Upon returning home Eddie and Steve decide it was best to spend the day cuddling and watching movies together letting themselves have the time to grieve and be sad before their very special day that was upcoming

                       Chapter 18: Natural 20 

Steve smiles as he sees Eddie gasp and looks at him, Eddie smiles and squeezes Steve's hand “yes I did big boy all for you” Eddie chuckles. Robin smiles at the pair, she was so happy that Eddie was alive and well and that her best friend finally got the man he had been yearning for. 

The doctor comes once more back into the room to check Eddie over once more, he smiles “I think you are ready to go home, I'm sure that your friends will look after you” Eddie corrects the doctor “my friend is Robin and my boyfriend is Steve” Eddie smiles at Steve. Steve feels the heat rushing to his neck and face as he looks at his beloved, everything makes sense now. 

After a short while Steve guides Eddie from his hospital room out of the hospital and to his car with Robin following behind the couple, Eddie gets into the passenger seat and Steve gets into the drivers side with Robin sitting in the middle seat in the back. “finally time to go home” Steve sighs happily “hey dingus! You need to take me back home” Robin laughs kicking Steve's seat lightly, Steve chuckles “alright almost time to go home” Eddie smiles and chuckles his gaze turns to Steve “hey Steve…before we set off to take Buckley home, I want to do something first” Steve looks over at Eddie and smiles “of course what is it?” as swift as Steve says that Eddie grabs Steve's shirt and pulls him into a kiss to which Steve responds positively and kisses him back. Upon pulling away from the kiss Robin playfully fakes a gag “get a room you two!” Steve and Eddie both laugh with their faces flushed “shut it Rob!” Steve rallies back at Robin as he pulls away from the hospital making the drive back to Robin's place. 

“your staying with me eds” Steve says as he keeps his eyes on the road, Eddie smiles and holds Steve's free hand “I wouldn't want to be away from you stevie, we've been through far too much together and if you have a nightmare there I want to be there to fight away those monsters…always” 

Steve laughs and smiles “better be lucky and roll that natural 20” 

Eddie smiles happily “no need to roll, my life with you in it is immediately a success”

                   Chapter 17: Seek and destroy. 

Eddie gains the strength to stare those that had eyes in their dead soulless eyes “you are not real!” Eddie yells with power behind it, Eddie closes his eyes and begins to think about a life with Steve by his side, the wedding, the possibility of adopting a child together, the laughter over folding laundry. Eddie smiles as he sees and hears these things in his head. After the last battle with Vecna Eddie knew that thinking these thoughts would help him break free of the mind fuckery that Vecna wanted him to succumb to, Eddie wasn't going to fall into Vecna's tricks. He has evaded death once he was sure as hell going to evade it again. 

Steve watches Eddie as he rocks himself on his bed, Steve looks at Robin “he can fight this I know he can, if I can do it then so can he” Steve looks back at Eddie “he is the strongest person I know” Steve smiles rubbing Eddie's hand “Eddie, I'm right here. Don't let him win, follow my voice” 

Eddie smiles as the echo of Steve's voice graces his ears, the sense of dread and fear completely melts away as he listens to the voice of his stevie. 

Eddie glares at the harrowing sight before him “you are not real, you are not going to make me feel like I did anything wrong! I am going back to MY Steve!” Eddie sternly says as he returns to the happy memories of a life with Steve, his heart grows bigger by every second with everything that ran through his mind, Steve's voice grows closer to him…

Eddie knew he was going to escape this…..

Eddie gasps as his eyes look around once more 

“There's my hero…you did it!”

                 Chapter 16: Tortured roll of the dice. 

Eddie continues to rock himself, he heard the drop of a body onto the floor, he knew that it was Steve's body. Eddie was convinced that he was the cause, like he believed that he was the cause of Chrissy's untimely death. “No no no no no no no! Not again!” Eddie yells out gripping tightly into his curls he couldn't feel Robin's touch any longer. Reluctantly Eddie looks back up the environment had become darker with a bluish hue, the room was littered in vines and as Eddie looks around he sees Robin's decapitated body discarded on the floor amongst a pool of blood, Eddie cowers back with his eyes wide. 

A terrifying knock snaps Eddie's attention to the door, he doesn't answer only to stare at it in complete fear. The door swings open with a long creak, Eddie gulps and trembles scared to know what was knocking at the door. “Hey Eddie” comes a voice as Gareth Emerson walks into the room seemingly ok, Eddie's body relaxes as he sees his good friend and band member “hey Gareth, w..what are you doing here?” Eddie questions Gareth as he approaches the bed where Eddie was cowering, Gareth sits on the bed close by to Eddie he doesn't look at Eddie but to the floor with a smile “you know Eddie, this is all your fault. Chrissy? Steve? Robin? And myself? We are all dead by your hands” Eddie looks painfully at Gareth his eyes narrowed “what are you talking about Emerson? You know this wasn't my doing it was Vecna's” Eddie protests, Gareth hadn't shown his face but as he turns his head, the grotesque grinding and crunching of bone and flesh pierced through Eddie's ears. 

Gareth's face was blooded almost unrecognisable, flesh had been shredded from one side of his face to the other Eddie could see tendons and muscles where the missing skin was, it was a sickly sight to look upon, “No Eddie, YOU caused this! All of this is your fault even Steve and Robin agree” Gareth's now skeletal hand points over to where Robin's decapitated body was that Eddie saw laying on the floor, it was now stood up and was making its headless approach to the bed. Eddie flinches and turns his head to see Steve's twisted and contorted body rising up, his eyes whited out and bloodied but staring at Eddie, almost like he was worming himself into Eddie's soul to rip it from his very being. The three voices all collectively start speaking in chant “you killed us! You killed us! It's YOUR FAULT!” 

Before Eddie could move or do anything three hands grab him by the throat and mouth, squeezing and twisting with all their might. 

Eddie looks into the dead eyes of his best friend “p..please don't do this! I didn't do anything wrong!” Eddie's breathing becomes laboured, Eddie didn't want to give up he had to fight this, using all of his energy Eddie's kicks away Robin's torso making her hand release the grip, this made it easier for Eddie to breathe. Eddie was determined to conquer this like he had done in many of his campaigns in hellfire, if he could help defeat those monsters he could defeat these ones too. 

This was luck of the dice between reality and Tortured, traumatised fantasy, Eddie knew he needed to win this to get back to what was real….

To get back to the town that hated him 

But 

To return to the man that loved him through and through

                        Chapter 15: Twisted.

Steve runs his hand through his hair, it had been the first time he had admitted to his trauma, Robin and Eddie both look at each other and then back down at Steve “Steve? It's OK, the last year is going to take its toll on you.” Robin reassures Steve as Eddie rubs Steve's hand. 

Steve's mind was racing, the moment that Robin mentioned the previous year it all flashes in front of him, Steve tries to shake it off but to Eddie and Robin Steve appears in some type of trance. 

“Steve? Steve?!” Robin shakes Steve's shoulders hoping to rouse him from this state but it seems useless. Eddie watches Steve closely, Eddie watches as Steve's eyes roll back and starts to levitate up into the air, the deadly chime of Vecna's grandfather clock shakes Eddie, the way that Steve was floating and unresponsive reminded Eddie of what happened within the trailer. “Oh no no no!” Eddie panics, the similarities between Chrissy and Steve were uncanny in this respect, Eddie didn't want to witness Steve's bones snapping and his body becoming unrecognisable but he was helpless once more. 

“Steve, I know you can hear me, think about things that make you truly happy, just like red did come back you can do it!” Eddie tries his hardest to help Steve fend off his fate at the wrath of vecna, Steve's leg twists and snaps at the joint, the sound was disguising but no cries of pain come from Steve, his jaw drops open then is snapped from the balls of his jaw, it hangs open, broken and loose. Steve's arm contorts and snaps in three places at the shoulder, at the elbow and finally at the wrist. “Steve! No!” Both Eddie and Robin exclaim in fear and panic as they watch Steve's body get twisted and contorted. Eddie grabs his head and starts to rock himself, he had sworn to himself he would never witness this again, but he had with Steve, the one man that made Eddie's soul happy. Robin swiftly runs over to Eddie to try and comfort him but she was already in bits herself. 

The harrowing sound of the Grandfather clock chimes again as Steve's body drops to the floor….

Midnight Skies and Chocolate eyes

              Chapter 14: Eyes don't lie. 

Steve feels Eddie's hand twitch in his own, his eyes widened “Eds? Eddie? I'm here it's Steve and Robin is here too” Steve looks at Robin “His hand just twitched, Rob he's waking up” Steve says smiling. Robin smiles back as she looks at Steve and looks back at Eddie “uh…Steve…look!” Steve looks over to Eddie once more to be met with a pair of chocolate eyes looking at him “h…hey Big boy..” Eddie hoarsely Whispers, Steve's eyes Flood with happy tears as he hears Eddie voice once more “hey eds, I thought I lost you” Steve smiles at his beloved “did you uh…did you hear me?” Eddie smiles weakly at Steve and nods to groan in slight pain.

Steve gazes doesn't leaves Eddie's chocolate pools, Steve smiles “eds…I meant every word…I don't want to live without you” Eddie finds the strength to softly squeeze Steve's hand “death could never keep me away from you stevie” the doors open again and a parade of doctors file in, they all stop as they see the man they had just recently pronounced dead alive and breathing this was something of a miracle, the head doctor rushes over to check Eddie's vital signs once more, “how? This is most troubling. He was pronounced dead not too long ago and now he is alive, his vital signs are normal.” Steve and Robin both look at each other and then back to the doctor both of them start rambling in sync “well he was dead apparently like you said and steve/I held his hand and he kissed him and I don't know what happened but the monitors started going off and then his hand twitched and then he was looking at us, we think that he heard Steve talking to him asking him to come back to him but he is here and alive and we don't know how but we are happy he is back and Steve/I want to marry him and Robin/I is going to be the maid of honour and and and…” both Robin and Steve look at each other very confused just as confused as the doctors. They once more speak in sync “Did we just? Word vomit? Yes” Steve shakes his head and chuckles “well that's a first” 

After sometime Eddie is sat up and is more able to speak he smirks at Steve “you want to marry me huh big boy?” Steve starts to stutter and blush furiously “y..yes I do..uh this night has been all kinds of what the fuck, one minute I was at home in bed the next vecna got to me and then boom I was in the upside down again, I saw Gareth down there…Eddie I'm so sorry he didn't live..he was really badly hurt and the demogorgon was on my ass it was either save us both or let him die and I survive” Steve drops his head 

Robin looks at Steve confused “Emerson? Steve, he is OK at home. What are you talking about?” 

Steve gasps and rubs his head “w…what? He's OK?” 

Eddie looks at Steve with concern “stevie…you're not OK are you? The nightmare?”  Steve sighs. 

Steve gives in and nods “I think so, but it seems all too real I don't know what is going on with me”

                    Chapter 13: Heartbeat.

The monitors were dead silent whilst Steve and Robin are in the room with Eddie. Eddie's lips were cold and blue to the touch, it was heartbreaking to Steve to feel those cold lips not warm and not kissing him back. Steve pulls away from the soft kiss and sits down “Eddie, I want you to wake up, come back to me please I'm begging you!.....please” Steve drops his head as the room remains silent. Robin looks over at the monitors she furrows her brows as she could of sworn she saw the static line move in a beat “s..Steve…keep talking to him, kiss him whatever just do it” Steve looks over at Robin confused “w..why?” Robin hurriedly walks over to Steve and keeps her eyes on the monitors “I could have sworn that I saw a heartbeat Steve kiss him again!”  Robin ushers Steve. 

Steve sighs and shakes his head “he..can't be he's gone we've been told that” Robin smacks Steve over the head “just do it dingus! You want him back don't you?” Steve yelps and rubs the back of his head “ow! Ok ok fine but it'll be useless”  Steve gets back up and caresses Eddie's cold face “I love you so desperately much Eddie, please just please come back to me”  Steve presses another soft kiss to Eddie's lips as he does this Robin watched the monitors closely, she sees another heartbeat and then another and another. The beeping sound of a rhythmic heartbeat floods the room, though Eddie didn't kiss Steve back the sound of the monitors makes Steve incredibly happy. Steve pulls away and watches the heart beating on the monitors he then looks over at Robin completely astonished, Robin looks back at Steve with a smile “ he came back to you stevie” 

Steve exhales a breath of relief as he gazes at Eddie he watches as the colour returns to Eddie's skin. Beneath his hand Steve feels the once cold skin of Eddie turn warm “he's alive! Eddie..Baby I know you can hear me, you came back to me please stay with me don't leave me” Steve begs his love. 

Robin smiles and playfully chuckles “is this some Disney shit you just pulled?” Steve smiles “true love's kiss brought him back…does this mean?” Robin places her hand on Steve's shoulders and nods, smiling “he loves you too stevie, I think that was obvious from being in the upside down.” 

The rhythmic heartbeat noise of the monitors get stronger and the sound was bliss to Steve, he didn't want to leave Eddie's side until those chocolate eyes gazed upon him once more.

He wanted to be the first person Eddie sees when he wakes up. 

His love 

His everything 

His heart 

His soul 

……….

Steve was sure, he wanted everything with Eddie, he wanted to take Eddie's last name. 

“I love you….eds…I hope you do wake up soon I want to marry you as we watch the sunset fall…spend eternity together” 

Steve smiles, Robin rubs Steve's shoulders “bitch I better be the maid of honour and shit just don't make me wear a dress”  

Steve laughs “always Buckley”
