Voice Claim: Dottie (Sitting Ducks, [License to Scoot])
A polite and (sometimes) klutzy Devatar, The Merchant has a bone-crushing bite and physical strength. Aside that, she wishes to leave her family’s business. For instance, her belt-like hands are capable of making a powerful slap that can send an enemy flying. She is a member of a wealthy family that controls the Market District, and the Devatar was tasked to head the “bumpkin market” (it’s where the Hopps Family Farm is located at in the City). Prior to meeting The Galvanizer, the Merchant’s fashion sense was barely appreciated.
The Merchant represents the Purple Rank.

“He reminds me of how many cartoons portray cafeteria workers. But I don’t know if the Slinger really wants me around, even if I’m doing the deliveries for him.”—The Artist
voice claim
The Slinger is the picky and sharp-shooting owner of a diner near the Port Line, and The Artist's current guardian/employee. He represents the Emerald rank.
The Devatars first met when Slinger, who was clocking out from work, found Artist hiding in a wheelie bin at the diner’s back. Knowing that the Creeps are still prowling on the streets, the Emerald Devatar immediately took the Artist into his house. After a long bath and a proper meal, the Slinger began questioning the Artist’s presence at the diner’s back, such as the whereabouts of their parents. The Artist doesn’t recall previous experiences before their place in an orphanage, and it prompted Slinger to keep the Green Devatar in until he can make an arrangement to send the Artist somewhere safe.
However, Artist frantically refused the Slinger’s decision and pleaded to stay in his house. The Emerald Devatar never had parenting experience: he was used to rounding up customers, such as the rowdiest Heroes.
He didn’t plan to adopt The Artist just yet: the latter accepted a position to work as The Slinger’s delivery person for the time being.
———————————————————————
Miscellaneous facts:
• Slinger likes swimming. If only the waters aren’t infested by Creeps...
• Slinger‘s diner and himself smells like seawater
• A couple of Heroes hang out and/or order take out from the Slinger’s diner. Also, under no circumstances should you start a petty commotion in there: chances are that one will get stabbed on the leg by an irritated Slinger, or become banned from the diner
• Despite the Artist’s concern regarding Slinger’s behavior towards them, the Emerald Devatar is actually growing on the kid
• Slinger is inspired by food and drinks served in Disney Parks and Resorts: he makes similar ones (but with stranger ingredients)

My friend called me this morning and just started off with no hello or anything.
"You know in Once Upon A Studio where every Disney character comes to life? Where are the Pixar characters?"
"It's just the disney characters, the Pixar characters are probably at Pixar studios."
"They're probably fighting for their life."
"Huh."
"The Pixar characters are in life threatening situations every second in some of their movies. They're probably fighting a monster or something."
"Go to sleep."
And I couldn't stop thinking of how funny the idea was

voice claim
A imitative Devatar, The Artist is a shapeshifting street urchin who has been on the run from the Creeps for a long period of time. During their run, the orphaned faun collected many identities of Heroes and Creeps to disguise as in order to survive a hellish netscape. In addition, the Artist specializes (and take up as hobbies) in photography and finger-painting, the latter utilized as attacks via the Devatar’s fingerless gloves.
Although the origins prior to their orphan status remains unknown, the Artist was eventually found and taken in by an Emerald Devatar called The Slinger.

For ref of who represents which rank in Devatar terms:
• White: The Player (there are no plans to make an original character design for this)
• Green: The Artist
• Blue: The Inventor*
• Purple: The Merchant
• Orange: The Hunter
• Red: The Creator
• Yellow: The Galvanizer
• Emerald: The Slinger
*As mentioned in this blog’s description, The Inventor is not mine. They (and The Player) don’t have a bio because that is the game’s job.

voice claim
A popular influencer and renewed sports commenter for the Coliseum, The Galvanizer is a bringer of heavy metal and tattoos. She is a veteran Challenger who is best known for her line, “It’s time for Battle Mode!” The Galvanizer also works as a personal trainer and, upon notice, shared criticism about The Hunter’s disciplinal methods towards the CPD (including Heroes not associated with the Order, Tactical, and Tech Teams). It is also rumored, which social media feeds on, that she has a strong relationship with another Devatar named The Merchant.
The Galvanizer has a younger brother who has a similar role as a commenter for the Arena. He is only mentioned in passing, which Galv has a heated rivalry with and is a Challenger just like her sister.
_________________________________________
-Galv’s tattoos are the emojis from Disney Emoji Blitz. They are also present as stickers on her phone and guitar case.
-The torn clothing from her old design is kept, but Galv wears those in a non-professional environment.
-She hates being interrupted when things are getting good. She’s also very competitive and energetic.
_________________________________________
Gonna start referring the City/Hub team (Creator, Hunter, Galvanizer, Artist, Inventor, and Merchant) as “Devatars.” There is a new rank with a pending name in development (originally called Toxic, but there’s gonna be a change according to a forum poll), and I’m waiting for its finalized name so I can design the Devatar associated with that rank. On the other hand, I don’t have plans for White because that basically represents you, The Player.

“IT’S TIME TO STOP” — The Hunter at the Creator
voice claim
_________________________________________
An ex-bounty hunter and archnemesis of The Creator, The time-stopping Hunter is the leader of an elite division in the CPD that is disguised as a strenuous and wealthy guild. It is also the strongest in the City, thanks to the Hunter’s strict demands and expectations for his members. This behavior originates from his time in an old guild: The Hunter used to work as a bounty hunter with others having a similar role, but due to “viral demoralization,” The Hunter was betrayed by his members. As a result, the Hunter’s demands became excruciating in the CPD, since he ensures his members don’t betray him in any way like his old guildmates. The Hunter cares about the CPD’s health, but he can get too carried away with his position.
However, this negatively affects the mercs (Heroes not part of the Tactical Team, Order Team, and Tech Team) that are hired by the Hunter: hopelessness begins to overcome them on the first couple of weeks under the CPD, due to the pressure the Hunter puts on them.
As of now, his main targets are The Creator and his old guild, who have transformed into Heist’s thieves. Also, as a mechanical being, his limbs, including The Hunter’s own head, detach easily when receiving heavy damage (but he recovers them at the end).

rewrote this angy part-engineer, part-bot battle champion’s story, and tried to remember that there was a secret hideout in the Hackerspace
voice claim
_________________________________________
Past: The Creator and The Inventor used to be friends. The two would take part in bot battles, but the Inventor was more casual than the Creator’s competitive behavior (so they would act as the latter’s support during public matches). Instead, the Inventor would focus on the development of both the City and Hub, and the Creator worked with them by designing beastiary for both places.
However, he was unaware of a secret experiment the Inventor was working on: the Creator would usually meet them in the Hackerspace and notice the Inventor acting strange. The last meeting between the two was a heated investigation, and a swarm of Creeps that crashed in and demolished the Hackerspace (including a glitchy taunt from the Inventor, who remained calm in the chaos) was the final nail in the coffin for the duo’s friendship.
Furious, the Creator ceased contact with his former friend and his temper began to grow, including the level of danger implemented on his robotic creations (which would become his stress toys). He would eventually create a guild that operates an underground bot battle ring, and rise through the public enemy ranks.
Present: The Creator is currently one of the CPD’s most wanted, and is the archnemesis of The Hunter. The engineer’s status motivated Disney villains to conquer various areas of the City (ex: Jafar, Captain Hook, Davy Jones, Dr. Facilier, Emperor Zurg, Magica de Spell, etc.), thus causing the City to glitch horribly. The Creator’s guild is just as powerful as the CPD’s elite division, which is also a guild, and the two are currently battling for the City’s control.

GOOD MORNING Y’AL—
For the upcoming 3rd Anniversary of DHBM, the loading screen has added a few new characters and the background color turned into dark violet. I’ll check back at some point to see if Perblue will provide the loading bar-less one.
For now, I just found it at the DHBM Photo Gallery 2 over on the DHBM forums.

With an approximate of 100 chapters of the Story Campaign in total(if counted right for both The City and Hub), there are a lot of Heroes that are currently labeled as ‘MISSING’ on The General’s Hero Archives.
They also hear stories from those who had survived their first step in a Creep-infested land, feeling devastated at losing their families and/or friends. One story that Bytesmark remembers was Launchpad having to leave his faithful sidekick behind at an outnumbering horde of Creeps(whereas the latter intentionally did so to protect the pilot at all costs).
However, there are no worries since Heroes are implemented with an “100 lives” power. But emptying it out will eliminate them from the game for good.
