Took advantage of this beautiful day by spending it at the park. I am happy to have pushed myself to 3 miles today and did a nice little leg workout post run by the river. You can truest workout anywhere and today was quite the enjoyable workout. Ps. This is me doing jump squats which are one of my FAVORITE exercises. (at Neshaminy Park)

Today was the first time I actually ran since my last race. I’ve really been trying to stay off of my leg/hip since I injured myself during half marathon training. Today was the first day I could run with almost no pain. YAY!!! However, I’m a bit out of shape since my little break. Short (almost) 2 mile run today to slowly get myself back into running longer distances. We’re on the road back to running/recovery and I am so excited! Such a beautiful day to get back to it!! So, I have been a terrible blogger this past week or so. I will admit it. BUT, I have a lot of good things to talk about today! . . So, I am recovering well from my minor injury. After taking the past two weeks easy, my hip/leg feels so much better. I am ready for my race again and will be KT taped to hell and back! I certainly learned a lot about taking care of my body and major do’s/dont’s. . . Today, I picture up my bid and some goodies for tomorrow morning! I made sure to grab some energy gels, a fanny pack, and some ASICS running socks at the expo! The literally had everything for running. I am so excited for tomorrow! . . Last but not least, I would like to announce my soon to be launch of my wordpress blog. It will be new and improved with real and better content, advice, and articles about my journey. I am hoping to get this up and running next week with my first blog about my half marathon! Start following me now! LISTEN TO YOUR BODY! . . Right before Disney, my boyfriend and killed 10 miles. Yay us! But, let me tell you it put a strain on my body running and then walking mile after mile at Disney. To the point, I am still struggling to recover and might have injured myself. Today I took it easy by putting miles on the bike to take some weight off of my body but still work my muscles to stay on top of things for training. Lesson: take time off if you need it and listen to what your body is telling you . If you’re in pain, ask yourself why. Tend to your body and learn to recover. Nothing ever good comes from pushing yourself past pain!! . . Getting Back to It!
3/8/2018
Now that I finally have the chance to write this thanks to the snow storm in PA and a nice day off work, let’s get talking about getting back on track after vacation.
I am back from Disney and back in my groove the same as always as if Disney food never happened. Why am I making this sound easy? Well, because it is as long as you make it that way. Going on vacation and splurging doesn’t mean you don’t have the same goals when you left or come back. You still want to lose weight or eat better, etc. That hasn’t changed. It is no different than your weekly cheat day or night out with friends. Your fitness/health journey should be a lifestyle. It should be a habit imbedded in your brain.
Coming home after eating a few too many of well.... everything ...shouldn’t cause you to fall of your rocker completely. Actually, your nice little binge or cheat meal should make you ditch those cravings. To be honest, I ate so much ice cream and sweets on vacation all I want is green veggies, haha. At the end of the day the choice is yours to fall behind or start up right where you left off. It’s as simple as that. Getting back in your routine should be no different than having to go back to work after your vacation.
So, for those of you who find it difficult to get back to it after vacationing or cheat meals I would like to share my tips and things I do to get stay motivated after not giving a damn for a week.
1. Go grocery shopping. After vacation there usually isn’t any food in my apartment. I ditch anything that can go back before I leave saving myself a disaster. Buy all of your healthy foods you usually do to start fresh.
2. Hit the gym right away. Whether it’s the day you get home or the day after, GET UP AND GO. Do not hesitate. It might be the worst workout but you still managed to try.
3. Cook exciting meals rather than having bland foods. This will keep you from wanting to break away again and remind you how DELICIOUS healthy eating is.
4. Snack on fruit. I have a sweet tooth and if you’re anything like me you need SUGAR for days. Instead of getting ice cream eat fruit instead. Freeze it , blend it, sauté it, eat it raw. Healthy sugars!
5. Drink more water than usual and green tea. I load up on water and tea to detox my body in a simple way.
6. Find the mindset and motivation that you had before you left for vacation. I am very dedicated to health so getting that mindset isn’t hard for me. I remember my goals and I know how I like to eat and like to feel! All that food I ate on vacation is amazing, yes, BUT it makes me feel like crap. At Disney, I literally got sick from a meal because I don’t typically eat that way. That puts me back in the mindset that I want to get back to fitness and health.
7. I remind myself that I will not throw away all of my hard work because I indulged on vacation. I didn’t lose 20+ pounds and train myself to run a half marathon to turn back to my Wendy’s/bud light every night life. This is me now and I want to keep it that way. Healthy, fit, happy.

It is safe to say I surely indulged on my vacation to Disney and I’m not mad or guilty about it. It was needed and well deserved. The food was just as magical as the place was. I walked around 9 miles a day at the parks so it’s not like I was sitting on my couch with a gallon of ice cream. I will be right back to healthy eating starting today now that we’re home. Which is a lot easier than some might think! My first trip to Disney was certainly an amazing one! Be sure to check out my next blog on getting back on track after vacation coming soon! . . January 2017 ➡️ February 2018. . . This journey has not been easy for me. I struggled everyday with my weight, my appearance, and my self esteem. Those hardship have brought me here. I am healthy and thriving. I am slowly becoming more and more happy with myself. I still struggle but seeing this progress shows me I didn’t start this for nothing and this is only the beginning. After finishing a short 4 mile run as I usually do on a Tuesday, I realized it is progress day!! We finished Whole 30 successfully and honestly I am so glad we did it. I now know how I like to eat and what makes my body healthy. I definitely see a HUGE difference since starting the diet. With running and eating right it did some good for me, as I posted in my recent blog. I am happy today and feeling so comfortable in my own skin, which isn’t very often! I recommend Whole 30 to anyone struggling with their diet. It’s a good try and honestly it’s a great lifestyle. Tonight, my boyfriend and I are treating ourselves to a non-Whole30 meal at Outback (sorry not sorry, we deserve it). Then, it’s back to being paleo-ish! Stay tuned! . . . @ thegeorgiapeach.tumblr.com . . .#weightlossjourney #weightloss #fitgirl #running #runnersofinstagram #halfmarathontraining #halfmarathon #loverunphilly #girlswholift #whole30 #whole30results #progress #selflove (at Croydon, Pennsylvania)

2/3 of the Way There!
2/18/2018
We are finally reaching the end of whole 30 and I am honestly so excited and happy we did this successfully. I truly feel great and now found the diet i would like to follow. It’s not whole 30 again but I want to eat clean, plant based, organic and gluten free. I am not going to cut out dairy completely because i really love ice cream however that’s about the only dairy ill really eat. I didn’t drink milk to begin with and yogurt is expensive so i wont mind not eating that. Cheese ill eat here and there but its another thing i dont mind cutting out. I will eat things like gluten free pasta and cereal (ya girl looooveees her some cereal) but no grains otherwise. I really dont need pasta or bread. I will also still cook with coconut oil, olive oils, etc. i really want to remove any corn products from my diet. I think whole 30 is an easy diet once you really get the hang of it and now i know what to look for and how i want to eat. Tuesday is officially our last day of whole 30 so I am going to share my tricks and hacks I did along with products i really fell in love with. I also decided to not use supplements other than vitamins and probiotics. I eat protein at every meal and really dont need to have protein shakes. Protein honestly seems like a hassle and unnecessary money I’m spending when i could just eat a meal or a protein packed snack. Whey protein made me bloated all of the time anyways. ALSO, I am so excited to post progress pictures on Tuesday!! I have no idea what i look like compared to when we started this so I am hype!!
Running is going much better than I anticipated and we actually signed up for another race two weeks after the marathon. It’s a 15k which is 9 miles for those of you who dont know a lot about running. I really feel so great running, although i still have some issues with my ankle but it is improving. I just ordered a new pair of Brooks running sneakers (recommended by a friend who runs and has done half marathons in the past). She literally LOVES these shoes and said they would be great for having flat feet. I actually want to surprise the BF with a pair but I have to do some creeping to find out what kind of arch he has. (No, I dont think hes actually going to read this blog post, haha). I want to keep running and participating in races post marathon. I will be back to lifting heavy things again though after the race. I love lifting and my booty days so I am really looking forward to incorporating both again. Running has helped me a lot emotionally as well. Ive been going through some things and running is a great stress reliever and helps me focus both my negative and positive energy into something. I found a niche for sure. Becoming a runner at age 22 is okay right? Like I’m allowed in the club? Haha.
