Okay so it's kinda a not-so-large secret of mine that I really like the idea that the Edolas version of Zeref founded that world's Fairy Tail so I figured I'd share a few sketches and some related hcs.

Design wise, I wanted to give a mad-scientist vibe with a more modern wardrobe acting as a contrast to his counterpart's ancient aesthetic...even if the goggles lean more steampunk-esque. Not to mention needing a lot of pockets without a magic equip dimension to hold everything.

One detail I will give a shoutout to is the waist-tied coat: it contains a slit in the back, making the ends separate out and somewhat resemble fairy wings (hehe).

EdoZeref was still a magic geek. In Edolas where magic is stored in items, this would translate to being more of a mechanic

Following onto the former point, yes that would imply he used to either make or improve Natsu's vehicles. I would like to think this was a bonding point when they were kids (and yes, they most certainly broke a lot of regulations in the process, the little arsonists)

Zeref originally built the Guildhall. Yes, the portable tree. Luckily he has more of a green thumb than his counterpart.

Following the previous point, this would also imply he did tutor Levy, the current magic-mechanic who pilots Fairy Tail's portable guildhall.

Lucy Ashley was around during the guild's founding. I especially think that's the case since she's essentially the guild's de-facto head once the Earthland crew meet Edolas.

Sidenote, but I do like the idea that etiher Edo Natsu and Lucy knew each other as kids, Zeref was the go-to babysitter for the Ashleys, or a mix of both.

Speaking of that, you know how it was mentioned that Edolas' guildmaster was deceased? Yeah, Zeref cannot catch a break.

In fact, part of the reason why I have this headcanon so strongly is because I think a scene of Edo Natsu reminiscing a little in mourning over a picture of the guild's founding and then cutting to Earthland Zeref who also apparently knows Natsu would have been a great transition into the Tenrou Arc.

I still like to think given present-day Edolas is only half-capacity due to the Fairy Hunts but is still fairly sizable in terms of numbers that he still got many years building the guild from the ground up gaining friends along the way.

Welp, that's all the rant I have for now. I would love to know what people think and what their headcanon's are. Edolas was a fascinating concept that I don't think gets explored nearly enough.

Okay so just a bit of context: I took a look at the prompt and immediately thought it looked like instead of...you know, trying to get out of a demonic torture dungeon, Natsu and Lisanna were leading the Scary Bird Lady to a birthday party.
