A Little Letter to My Little Lady

To My Little Emma, 

You really need to stop kicking me in the bladder! There are only so many times I can walk up the steps to the bathroom in one hour. My boss is starting to get worried. I’m just kidding sweetheart. You can kick all you want, because just like you’re brother I will soon miss the feeling of you growing inside of me and then eventually forget it what it felt like all together. I hope you know how much I love you, how much your Daddy loves you and how much your big brother loves you. He can’t wait to show you all of his dinosaurs and Pokemon!  Just a few more weeks little lady and I’ll be rocking you to sleep in my arms, praying that you don’t cry all night long. 

I love you so much.

Yay! It’s finally here! Emma’s room has been completely gutted, dry walled, spackled and sanded. It’s officially time to paint! Which is how I will be spending my weekend! 

I only have 9 weeks left until my little girl is here and every day the room sits unfinished is just another day of anxiety loaded on my plate. I can’t wait for it to be completed and for everything to be put together. (which will be another post completely. You’s wouldn’t believe the transformation.)

Now, I have heard from numerous family members and friends that I’m not supposed to be painting this room. It’s honestly a constant battle with them, but my doctor assured me that with the correct amount of ventilation, the proper face masks and preferably a latex based paint in the colors below, that all will be well. 

We’re still up in the air about the color of the walls. The color that we chose is much more vibrant and because it’s a rather small room, we are not completely sure whether we are going to do an accent wall in the coral or all four with the white trim.

It’s yet to be determined, but we will figure it out once it’s primed. I’ll just start on the wall that would fall behind the dresser and all the wall accents I have been buying over the last few months. 

I was still so amazed that we decided on such a modern look. If my fiance had his way, he would probably would have went with pink camouflage or an overly primitive cabin look to match the rest of our house and I’m more on the shabby chic/boho side which blends surprisingly well with his deer heads and fish mounts. 

Either way, I’m so extremely excited to start this project and I can’t wait to share pictures of the finished project!

Wanderlust Wednesday

Take my hand and let me show you the way into serenity. Seriously, though. I feel calmer just looking at the photos of these four jaw dropping photos, in which I did not take, sadly. There is just something so breathtakingly calm about each of them and they are all currently on my Destination Bucketlist. 

Tunnel of Love, Ukraine - There is just something so mesmerizing about a place like this. I might night make it out of the other end. I’d be in my own little world or I’d be to busy begging my fiance to take cute pictures with me to hear the active train coming. 

Hobbiton, New Zealand - This is one place I definitely think I could get my fiance to go with with me. He’s not big into the nerdiness,but he will willingly leave Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit on if he by chance passes it on the television. Although, getting him to New Zealand is another quest all in it’s own. 

Waitomo Glowworm Caves, New Zealand - I’d probably cringe a little if one by chance landed on me, but boy, would it be worth it. I would love to take a nice like canoe ride through it or depending on the water and the complete bug situation, an inner tube. They should totally make this an attraction at some water park! Obviously with fake worms though!

To Sua Ocean Trench, Somoa - Can someone say cannonball! I don’t think you’d ever be able to get me to leave. 

I love the thought of travel. Even though I’m terribly afraid of planes and boats. It’s nice to imagine myself somewhere far away sometimes though.

Dear Diary,

It feels like I can’t catch my breath today. 

From the moment I woke up, dropped Alex off at my parents and made my way to work, I have been in a state of excruciating uncertainty and I don’t even know why. 

There is literally nothing wrong.

It’s like my mind is trying to convince me today is going to be a bad one.

I can’t even blame it on the weather, because I absolutely love the rain.

If I had to choose one person’s closet that I would love to raid, it would be the closet of Malia from MTV’s Teen Wolf. The girl may have limited manners and be slightly oblivious to how the world works, but she knows how to look damn good and still kick ass at the same time! 

I love her style and I even love the fact that you can duplicate the look and not have to break the bank. Honestly, I’ve seen some nearly identical leather jackets, but A. I don’t have hundreds of dollars to drop on a jacket that I would only wear on certain occasions and B. I’m not really fan of the quilted look to begin with. 

So, these are my Malia pieces. 

Miss Selffridge Brown Faux Leather Biker Jacket - It’s 100& polyurethane and even though it might take nearly 500 years to decompose, no animals were harmed in the making and you can get it here on sale for just 44.00. 

Light Blue Floral Print Distressed Boyfriend Jeans -  These are absolutely perfect and don’t cost and arm and leg like other similar jeans do. You can pick them up from MAYKOOL on sale for just 29.99.

Charlotte Russe Lace Up Combat Boot - Now, I personally have never been a fan of the combat boot. I like them on others, but I always felt that my legs were way to short and they looked rather clunky than cute. These are definitely a Malia must have though and you can get these from Charlotte Russe for 39$. Though, I’m sure you could find similar ones for much cheaper at Ross, Rue or any other discount department store! 

Then there is the black v-neck. I would personally just wear a blank tank top with the weather we get up here and in all honesty, I don’t think I have ever met someone who doesn’t already own a black tank top. If you don’t, then please let me know how?

Hello beautiful wanderer and welcome to the first post here at The Little Earthling. This isn’t so much of a lifestyle blog as it is my personal place to be free and speak my mind and share my life’s interest and work. I am as I say “a goose in a field of peacocks” and not many people in this one pub town really understand the way I think or live my life. 

So I’m here and I want to share just a few things about myself with the people that I may one day call a friend. 

+ You will rarely ever see a photo of my face, unless it is a selfie. I am usually the only one who ever feels the need capture a moment in time and because of this, you will mainly see life in my eyes. 

+ I am a openhearted, free spirited mother and fiance who finds beauty in all things. My mother calls me an empath and my fiance thinks I care to much, but at the end of the day, a good portion of the anxiety was worth it because I know I’m not a hateful person. 

+ I have commitment issues. I’m talking about blogging here. I have started and failed many of times when it came to blogging, but I think it was because I was never in a position to share my naturally boring life. But hey, I’m a normal person with normal daily tasks. Kids. Work. Dinner. Repeat. I’m still learning how to juggle it all. 

+ I have many hobbies. I write. I paint. I make hemp jewelry. I love design. I fan girl like a fifteen year old who just met Dylan O’Brien. I can talk about Harry Potter all day long, but I could also show how you to bait a hook and load a shotgun. I guess it just depends on the day of the week it is. 

+ I’m a daydreamer and a shooting star wisher. I believe all things are possible, but I also have a tendency in believing in the bad things as well. I guess that’s the limited amount of realist in me, always assessing and going over every bad outcome until it literally drives me mad. 

As I said before. You will come to know the side of me that not many people care to see. Aside from my family and my best friend, the rest of the people that surround me are really only interested in what wine trip we’re going on or where I got my shoes. This is my outlet. This is my life. This is me.
