Hello interwebs, 

I thought you should know that I  am 9 chapters into A Conjuring of Light and I just cannot like Alucard Emery. I have and continue to try but still everything about him irritates and frustrates me the way he does Kell. 

I love Lila, but her fondness does him no favours. 

I love Rhy, but his fondness also doesn’t make a difference.

I just want him to go away.

I’ve been rewatching BOF on my commute due to the joy of Netflix Downloads, and two things have come to my attention:

1. Everyone is so much more attractive than I first thought they were 7/8 years ago. 

2. I love Song Woo Bin. HOW CAN HE BE SO MELODIOUS AND SO JARRING AT THE SAME TIME. <3

I feel like when it comes to Disney climactic battles, the clock tower scene from The Great Mouse Detective is fiercely underrated. There is so much going on in it. Ratigan, who’s spent the whole film denying his rat identity, becomes downright feral going after Basil. And Basil, known for his brains over brawn, finds himself completely helpless for the first time and unable to physically defend himself. The music is brooding, the animation is amazing, the setup is creative - it’s such a wonderfully intense scene.

I just finished The Invisible Library by Genevieve Cogman and I think it’s the first book I’ve read where two people of opposite sex - who are actually sexually attracted to each other - manage to act like actual mature, responsible adults and stay on task and on mission instead of obsessing over each other’s looks and whether the other likes them.

The heroine fully acknowledges that the hero is attractive and she wouldn’t mind having sex with him - and that after that moment, it’s like well, enough of that, let’s finish our mission. 

It’s fantastic.

I am so excited and I have no real reason to be, but I am anyway.
