John smiled in return. It faded only the slightest, in shock, when the last question was asked. His cheeks reddened and he gave a nod. "M-mmhm...Yeah. He...er..." he fidgeted with the sleeve of his jumper. "We're..." he didn't quite know the best way to put it.

Sherlock stared at the young boy a moment, looking back into those innocent eyes and looking at the mussed up dirty blonde hair. Sherlock had to look twice a moment, staring hard at him, before he could catch the breath he had been holding.

“John?” said Sherlock quietly, just above a whisper.

“John Watson, is that you?” said Sherlock, shocked that he even was considering it as a possibility.
