First time trying to paint a Star Trek ship, went with my Saber-class in Star Trek Online. She's named for the first Indian-American astronaut, Kalpana Chawla :D

So my little sister is getting married in a month or so! I painted her dog and her fiance's cat and had them canvas printed as a wedding present, I hope they like 'em :D

So, even if your creations contain nudity, mature subject matter, or sexual themes, you can now share them on Tumblr using the appropriate Community Label so that everyone remains in control of the types of content they see on their dash. 

We have updated our Community Guidelines to reflect these changes; the rest of our content policies remain the same: We still don’t allow hate, spam, violent threats, or anything illegal, and visual depictions of sexually explicit acts remain off-limits on Tumblr (if you want to know more about that, our CEO Matt recently explained why it’s not feasible for us to safely and successfully support porn communities at this time). If you come across these types of content, please continue to report them to us.

Similarly, if you come across content on Tumblr that doesn’t appear to be appropriately labeled, please let us know. This is how we’ll work together to create safer spaces for everyone on Tumblr, whatever their interests and needs. 

We hope this shift creates more room for artistic expression to flourish on Tumblr while empowering each of you to craft your own experience and safely explore and discover the things you love.

Doodle for the day. Started as anatomy practice, but things got out of hand. Going for a kind of folktale "you meet a stranger on the road" kinda thing.

Taking another stab at that Monster Hunter idea I had a while back, this time looking at some of the rural myths of North America. Commonly known as "Fearsome Critters," this particular branch of myth grew up around logging camps and rural backcountry of the United States. It's full of wild stories about absolutely ridiculous monsters, so naturally they work really well with the deranged critters of Monster Hunter.

This monster is called a Caudyx, it's based on the story of the Tailypo. In the story, a hunter goes out on a hunt and ends up harassing a strange animal with a tail. The hunter shoots off the poor beast's tail, and then goes home laughing. But during the night, the hunter wakes up to horrifying sounds outside, glowing eyes at the foot of his bed, and a growling voice saying, "Tailypo, tailypo, I've come for the return of my tailypo." Whether or not the hunter survives depends on which version of the story you're hearing.

Anyway, one of the main game mechanics in Monster Hunter is that the players can break or damage parts of the monster, and doing so changes the fight. Do enough damage to the monster's head and it'll be easier to stun, or break a wing and it won't be able to use that annoying flying sweep attack it keeps doing.

Many monsters have a prominent tail, which can be severed altogether for extra rewards. With the Caudyx, this triggers a drastic change in attitude and an instant rage mode that doesn't end until you put the beast down permanently - or vice versa. >:3
