Here’s a drawing for Hotel Transylvania I, back when Jill Culton was directing it. The story was quite different back then, it was more of a drama with comedic moments, rather than the final version that ended up as a comedy with dramatic moments. In this version Mavis was half human and not a monster. Dracula had coerced all the other monsters to pretend she was a monster so she wouldn’t leave to be with her own kind. When she discovers that she’s not a monster, she realizes all the monsters had been fooling her into believing a lie. In this moment she sits in the sun for the first time…both father and daughter separated between light and dark.
