miku expo 2024 is the dashcon of vocaloid concerts. the projectors were replaced with LEDs and organizers told no one, still charged ppl for the projectors. someone stole the Miku canada cut out. vocaloid producers are really mad that attendees are mad that they got scammed because nothing comes before Product. the event banned glowsticks and upcharged the sale of their own, under the excuse that average glowsticks would interfere with the projectors, that the organizers knew they did not have. someone pissed on the floor. car crash outside the venue in san jose

In honour of finals season here are some of the weirdest things my art school profs have done

Looked me in the eyes and vaped at me in class while I answered a question

Kicked a sculpture across the room because it allegedly invited him to

Created an intermission halfway through class to inspect an unused tampon because he’d never seen one and was curious about how they worked

Played out a gratuitous sex scene between two office chairs

Climbed under the table to demonstrate what he’d do during the nuclear apocalypse

Had an enlivened discussion with me about the horrors of childbirth

Cut a student’s hair

Vagueposted to the class about a student’s problematic essay

Vagueposted to the class about my dogshit file organization (and then got sad when I made fun of him for it)

“Art is jizz”

Made us drop eggs onto the tarmac from the second floor of the school (for a grade)

Made us fill out a comparability questionnaire which included zodiac sign and then played matchmaker for our final groups in front of the class

Created a special crit segment where my classmate could speculate about what each piece would taste like

Showed a video of a woman getting frisky with the Guggenheim architecture

Showed a video of a guy getting shot in the arm on purpose

Kept accidentally letting her toddler edit slides resulting in every lecture having one slide of exclusively keysmashing

Spoke klingon

Begged us to drop out (on our first day)

Sketchbook from 2023

Last year I decided to draw at least one still-life drawing during my lunchbreak from various photos references.

Allowing to make mistakes (rip transform tool and ctrl+z) and being away from the big screen is something that I missed. It makes the process more enjoyable and creates new ways to solve shorthanding the forms of a subject.
