Moving On From Meta

I finally left FakeBook for good. When I first got on in 2008, I did not like the architecture or the algorithm. I intended to use it for promotion of my bands and other entertainment endeavors. (and. as far as Instascam, I left that a while ago. Always MEH for me.)

For a good 16+ years I tried, and it turned out to be basically useless, as I predicted long ago. But, with everybody seeming to jump on the bandwagon, I kept keeping on. I made band pages and groups which I grew attached to, making it harder to move on, even though it was an echo chamber, of interest to a handful of peeps, including me. It was time to stop beating the horse that never lived in the first place.

I've had a Google Sites website that I work on from time to time, mostly frivolously. I may try to upgrade it. But, with no real traction on any social media platform, I have little hope of driving traffic to my site. Again. it's more for me than a valid promotional tool.

And there's the rub. I do these things ultimately for me, thinking somehow, someday, someone might notice, and I might develop a fanbase. Try to rely on that for breath, and you'll suffocate.

Neo in the sun! I have five cats. This is my youngest, Neo Skin'a'bones. He is so named because he was so thin, almost skeletal, when he wandered to my place. He was so friendly and intsa-purred when I picked him up. He's got an ornery streak but he's a great kitty.

Bumbles, they do Bounce!

First watched Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer(1964) when I was pretty small, on a black and white Zenith on a roly stand, in the living room of the house where I lived until I was three. The fact that Bumbles bounce, has always stayed with me.

So over on Tiktok, because of the looming ban, people are flocking to Rednote. Rednote is a huge Chinese social media platform. Our government's excuse is that Tiktok is a security risk. But that's bullshit, IMO. Two things are at work here. One is the suppression of free speech. To find the other reason, follow the money trail. Now, people are gladly flocking to a Chinese app, and giving their info in droves, rather than migrate to the musky place or the fuckerberg apps. Chinese users of both apps are teaching the so called "Tiktok refugees" how to speak and read Mandarin, and how to navigate Rednote. This is a vid of my reaction, which could not be contained after so many Tiktoks on the subject. What a bunch of crazy kids :)

Not sure if you can tell, comparing the photos, but the murder weapons have grown in length substantially in the last three days. This has been the deepest show we have had in our area since 1977. I like snow. I shoveled my driveway for the hell of it, and I'm a recluse who hardly leaves the house these days, and wasn't going anywhere. It did help the pizza delivery driver, though!

Richie is not sure what to think of stuffed Dracula, but then, Richie is the one with the lowest apparent brain cell numbers of my five babies. He is a pretty cat, though. I think he has some ragdoll in him. He is a soft, fluffy, easy going, good boy, and I spoil him just like the rest.
