Hello Salam,
We are a family of 5 begging for help to survive.
With everything you can To everyone reading these words, we are now in the 10 month of the war on Gaza. These days are filled with nothing but fear and deprivation, and the sounds of bombing and destruction shatter our dreams. In our home in Gaza, I live with my family of 5. Our lives have turned into details of oppression and suffering, which still weigh heavily on the shoulders of my father and mother, my sisters Ghazal and Mesk.
As I write this plea, my little family is gathered under the dim lights, sharing canned food to break the fast during Ramadan. These are tough moments as we try to remember the happy times we had, when we were impatiently waiting for our fathers and uncles to return from work. But today they have no jobs to meet our needs. Our lives have changed dramatically, and moments pass in eerie silence, leaving us with memories laden with pain that have added years to our young lives.

Hello dears! I am asking you to support my campaign to help me reach my goal. I am in dire need of your support now to help me stay alive and safe. Gaza is a very dangerous place both in terms of living and lives. The family consists of 20 members, most of them are young children. I need your financial support to enable me to get the basic needs for my family until the Rafah crossing is reopened to transport my family to safety and peace. Please help a family stay alive through your small donations or through your shares to others. Thank you very much for standing by those in need. My campaign 90-ghoset has been documented

Please read carefully and consider donating to the fundraiser.
🚨 Urgent: Surgery Needed! 🚨
Hello everyone!
I would like to spotlight this particular fundraiser.
Mohammed Atallah (@mohammed-atallah) is a 17 year old. A teenager! I know teenagers scare the living crap out of us (#IYKYK), but Mohammed is different. He is kind and warm-hearted. He adores his friends and family.
He should also be with his friends and play soccer. He should graduate from high school. He should be with his big family (2 parents and 6 sisters) and have dinner together every night. But these moments are taken away from him.
Again, I can go on and on about his life before the genocide has begun, but we are 10 months in! We know he has lost his home, his education, his life in beautiful Ghazzah.
So you need to know this:
Mohammed needs a bone grafting operation ASAP! The IDF has shot him in the arm with an explosive bullet when he tries to retrieve aid from Nabulsi roundabout. Can you believe it? These scumbags have used a more dangerous weapon on a 17 year old!
He can also get an infection and be amputated if he does not receive proper treatment! We all know that the IDF are purposely disabling Palestinians, but we have a chance to prevent it by donating! It will help him evacuate and give him the medical treatment he deserves! Remember, even the smallest amount can make the biggest difference.
I also request that you follow him and share his story if you are unable to contribute. It gives his fundraiser momentum if you do!
Thank you!

What should a poet do in such a world? Write poems. Zbigniew Herbert, as a Warsaw adolescent, saw the only choice clearly enough when he said: "One might still offer / even to the betrayed world / a rose."To write poetry, even in the most hopeless of situations, is an act of faith-not only in poetry itself, but in the world. And who knows? Maybe someone will even read you someday, awaken to his or her own life, and live it with little more laughter and sanity, more dignity and passion.

I am only kind to my father in poems he will never read.
I try to imagine him small the way my grandmother tells it:
patient, deerlimbed, pondering polynomials. Wanting only
a Toblerone bar for his birthday to eat alone in his room
away from the violence of exploding raindrops, pitiless Madras summer.
I wonder if he is proud of his life like I am proud
of my poems-the best we could do. In another world
I would go down the stairs to where my father is sitting alone
with his wine glass and I would tell him I'm sorry. But I am a woman
the same way my father is a man: always a little embarrassed.
Somehow it is easier to say I hated practicing piano in the morning
than it is to say I loved the way you turned the pages for me.
I cringed being woken up each morning, pulled blinds and tough light, but I loved
your warm and capable hands on my forehead brushing away the remnants of a dream.
