This is a callout post for my dearest most beloved bestie @ryoassuka. Screw you for suggesting I read Umineko.
This is also a callout post for the evil creature @mxgbf who convinced me to actually read it.
For those of you who haven’t read Umineko yet, this post will make zero sense. Please ignore this. Spoiling this visual novel in a sin. Watch a playthrough of it here. (If you are sensitive to extremely dark subject matter look at the trigger warnings. Some of them are spoilery be warned.)
Those of you who’ve read. Spoilers below the cut.
I AM EXPERIENCING THE ROKKENJIMA INCIDENT IN REAL TIME BECAUSE OF MY JJK DREAM/DELUSION POST AND I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT.
Tumblr media
This is just the entire Answers Arc condensed. Wanting to believe in the illusion because it’s better than facing whatever is in the catbox. The whole death of the author, wanting to make their own stories because of it… This is my Umineko Kaisen.
When I was first reading Umineko I made this joke.
Tumblr media
This is no longer a joke. Right now, I am Beatrice.
Close enough, welcome back Battler Ushiromiya.

Hi !! So, the clock thing has all of us asking questions and stuff and I didn’t wanna theorise too much, BUT IT’S TOO HARD NOT TO, so I’ll give my two cents.
So, I searched what clocks in dreams mean and this is the first result: “Clock dreams often occur when one is faced with serious and life-threatening illness, or is close to someone who is in such a situation. Trying to stop a clock, or a clock breaking, can represent a fear of death. Clocks gone out of control symbolize unresolved fears and anxieties.”😀😀 I mean…
ALSO, from what I remember, the clock was shown twice since the battle, right? What if they’re the times of the d*aths of Yuji and Megumi?
The clocks were shown thrice! But the 3rd time was very quick and no face was shown.
Tumblr media
This is just Jojo Part 6 trauma talking, but I do Not like that it's implying things are speeding up...
Right after this page about a rushing manga artist that has quotes like "You have a bitter tale to tell there, don't you?" and "Better hurry." it just leaps through characters. Takaba gets a page, Rin gets 2.5 pages, Higuruma gets the equivalent of 1 page thats broken across 2 pages, Hana gets 2.3 pages then we're onto the mission! The final one!
That would be messed up if those were times of death. But I'm not sure if anyone is dead until we get that final chapter. There are ways to make everyone live that are worse than death if we consider the Merger.
Time seems to be running out for some reason and I don't think I'm ready learn why that is.

Seeing your latest post. Do you think there is a connection with JJK 0 ending theme? It's title is "Sakayume". It's by King Gnu too.
Believe it or not, someone else in 2022 was intrigued by the JJK 0 ending theme being called Sakayume. Quoting this poster directly:
"逆夢 sakayume Is a dream that contradicts reality. It’s unrealistic meaning that it can’t or won’t happen in real life."
This song is then compared to the anime's ED 2, Cö shu Nie's give it back.
"I feel this song is about 逆夢 sakayume in a sense. The song speaks about “giving back the dream” It’s called “Give it back” and it’s like “give me back the dream” “what happened to rest of the dream and why did I have to wake to reality”  basically it’s longing. It’s longing to go back to the dream and not a reality that contradicts that dream. So when I hear this ED I also think of the movie’s theme song for them which is Sakayume!"
Keep this in the back your mind. It only gets worse from here.
Yuji and Megumi's Character Songs
Recently, I got this in my replies from @mizzi14-blog.
Tumblr media
(Here's a link to all the character songs with corresponding videos for listening.)
A translation for Megumi's character song Uchujin's Hakujitsumu (Daydream). From the last stanza:
This is not a song to just forget about the painful past This is a song that confronts the sadness The moon in the night sky waxes and wanes There are no stars in sight. But even in the darkness, tomorrow shines brightly And this is a song I share with you.
In summary, this song is about someone trying to confront their trauma but getting swept up in a daydream with their beloved.
A translation for Yuji's character song Kuchiroro's Itsuka dokoka de (Sometime, Somewhere). From the last stanza:
Nobody knows… Ah. The heart of my real self is so cowardly. I try to scream until I lose my voice. I don’t need anything… I bear a fate I still cannot accept. If I can share my feelings somewhere then I might speak about how my dream continues…
In summary, this song is about someone who feels lonely and isolated dreaming of their ideal world through the pain.
Y'all this diabolical. What the hell.
But wait there's more!
Sukuna mocked Yuji and Megumi's doomed love when he made the Enchain Binding Vow with Yuji using some ridiculous wordplay way back in JJK 11.
Enchain doubles as Megumi Activities. But let's break that down some more. (Unfortunately the Twitter account of the person I referenced may or may not be nuked so here's this screenshot I've doctored.)
Tumblr media
So we have the translation of Enchain from 契闊 (Keikatsu), which might be better localized as Separation.
This term comes from a Chinese poem about lovers who are husband and wife in The Book of Odes, Section I (Lessons from the States), Chapter 3 (The Odes of Bei), Poem 31 (Banging the Drum). (Here's a link to the full poem and context of it.)
In summary, it’s about a soldier who is on the brink of death, having lost nearly everything after being abandoned by those in power, lamenting the happiest days of his life with his love are ones he can never get back. (Hey that sounds just like what Sukuna did to Yuji!)
Keikatsu specifically comes from this passage:
“Our vow is beyond death and life”, I and you are together I always remembered. I will hold your hand, And together we grow old.
Too pitiful we are faraway apart, The distance separates us to meet again! Too miserable this takes forever, And it does not let us fulfill our vow!
Keikatsu is used to exemplify how the physical distance between the husband and wife prevents them from fulfilling their wedding vows. And that's just what Keikatsu/Enchain does to Yuji and Megumi, it causes painful separation neither of them wanted.
In Conclusion?
GEGE GREGORY AKUTAMI IS THIS JUST DOOMED YAOI ALL THE WAY DOWN?????? GEGE!!!! ANSWER ME!!!!

Hey! After reading your amazing dream's end theory it sure does answer a lot of weird tonal shifts and pacing problems going on after Sukuna battle. You've already pointed out much of the ooc things going within these three chapters. It feels like some inception level trolling by Gege (i really hope it is..I need the last chapter to make me roll down in my puddle of tears) I found it especially odd how Angel says Sukuna baited Hana with Megumi's memory (which for that Megumi should've known about Hana's feelings all this time but in the same sequence he actually looks taken aback with Hana's response) but in the actual scene during the fight it looked with Hana's declaration of her possessiveness for Megumi, Sukuna put the bait in that moment...Angel's answer seemed similar to what Sukuna had answered to Yuji's question about him knowing about the hydrangeas.
Also there's the scene of Charles working on a manga for a magazine but Charles never got a nod for serialization? He broke the same editor's finger and bailed out halfway..and now still got a chance also meaning the manga industry is back in business even though Tokyo is still haunted by curses.(Idk maybe I'm reading too much and too wrong 😕) I'm so confused with all these events my best bet is something sketchy happened after that small interaction between Megumi and Yuji. Megumi wanted a normal peaceful life and he's getting it all now.
Ok so this ask had a lot in common with a different anon so I'm answering them both at the same time.
Anon who sent me a reaaaaally long ask about re-reading JJK 268, I'm copying and pasting your exact words below the cut.
"Re-read chapter 268 and the sequence of events is interesting.
We have the moment with the letters, and Yuuji and Nobara seem taken off guard by Megumi's reaction to Gojo's letter, then immediately they change subjects to them having to meet Maki and the others. It seems pretty chill.
Then Megumi mentions wanting to apologize, and suddenly they imply that the reunion is to "save" Yuta. Now after last weeks chapter we know they meant from Maki's scolding, but like, the panel with Maki, Panda and Inumaki has them walking somewhere, presumably to Yuta, so how did they know they had to save Yuta from Maki's scolding...
Now admittedly, there are explanations for this, like Maki mentioning Yuta and acting mad before while Megumi was unconscious. But it's...odd. How Megumi keeps trying to address what happened to him but other characters keep changing the subject or pushing focus to something else.
Megumi mentions being inside Sukuna during Nobara's revival, we are presented with the letters, Megumi mentions wanting to apologize, suddenly they have to "save" Yuta from Maki, who is acting more aggressive than ever (but still asks Megumi how he is feeling), Megumi once again tries to apologize, but he gets dismissed by Maki, then Yuuji tries to blame himself, and then Kusakabe blames Gojo, Kenjaku and all the adults that "failed" them. And from then it's all Yuta and talking about the battle (and simple domains).
Then Megumi buries Tsumiki, and instead of getting his thoughts or see him apologize (something we know he wanted to do) we get commentary and a joke from Shoko. In the same panel where she makes that joke, we see Megumi with a "..." speech bubble but we can't see his expression (like. not even his usual "im done with you people" expression), and then he immediately gets a call to do something.
Then, once again, Megumi tries to take responsibility for what Sukuna did, trying to make it up to Hana, and she takes attention away from that by mistaking it as a marriage proposal. Megumi is flustered, and runs away to do a mission (presumably what the call was about before).
Now, here's the thing, some of this stuff have perfectly reasonable explanations or are actually in character for the characters to do do (ex. of course yuuji would blame himself and hana also felt in character) but instead is the culmination of everything that leaves this odd taste in my mouth.
Sure, Gege could be stressed and overworked, sure, he could simply have no interest in really exploring Megumi's current state (which is odd considering Megumi was the original protagonist and Gege said in an old interview that he already knew his fate). But it could be something else at work, Gege could be playing with us.
What ever happens though, I'll always hold this theory close to my heart."
As the both of you pointed out, this really points to someone (Yuji) wanting Megumi to feel happiness and nothing else. The moment there is friction or him trying to confront negative emotions, he's pulled somewhere else. If both of you noticed this pattern without speaking to each other, it probably means something. (It's also funny how you both latched onto the Hana-Megumi confession scene in particular.)
I keep getting asks/replies that point out things I missed that indicate something is afoot. If these people made these posts by themselves, they'd likely get mocked for copium. But you add them all together and the case gets stronger.
That's why this whole debacle is so Umineko. The plausible deniability is the catbox that makes the mystery so hard to solve. It's also a recurring theme in JJK. Gojo and Sukuna use plausible deniability to mask their true feelings and mislead each other during their fight and everyone who is trying to have some kind of relationship with them.
If Gege is using the very real burnout, rushed deadlines, and health problems to mislead fans with this past 3 chapters, I will become a permanent glazer. Weaponizing your own flaws and feeding into the negative fan sentiment for trickery. It's evil genius.

omg i read your theories about chapters 268-270 being a dream!! this is amazing!!! and just to top it off megumi also says the same lines as gakuganji "everything is fine" while smiling widely; i remember this scene made me think that something was off!! omg this is definitely a dream…
and going further i think megumi is fully aware that all of this is not real; i say this because when he receives the letter about toji's death and then he smiles? i think yuji was not expecting this reaction; it seems like megumi was laughing at yuji's attempt to console him; yuji even gets scared when he sees the unexpected reaction and then changes the subject to yuta…
another point that makes me think about this is the scene where sukuna corrects yuji about the flowers (hydrangeas) based on megumi's memories; right after yuji says they are everywhere and he didn't remember that; I believe that this correction may be a manifestation of Megumi's conscious mind that ended up noticing this small mistake
That’s the sad thing. Megumi would go along with the delusion for Yuji’s sake. Even though Yuji made them for him. They've been in this codependence living for each other loop since the start of the manga.
I’m in the Sukuna straight up lied about the flowers camp. Megumi is canonically an animal guy. There's not been any indication he has ever been big on flowers. From the official fanbook:
Tumblr media
(The JJK 0 Movie interview revealed that Megumi's fave kind of movies are documentaries, so I headcanon he watches the nature ones.)
Sukuna however... He's probably a flower guy given that he's big into Chinese/Japanese poetry and literature. Buddhism too also has an emphasis on floral language. It's kind of everywhere in JJK.
Also, one of the character songs Gege picked for Sukuna is about a lonely flower that longs to be acknowledged. It's called Day Scanner by Hirasawa Susumu and someone translated it. (Tbh this song choice is one of the reasons I try to analyze Sukuna's character with the assumption he is secretly a pathetic sopping wet cat.)
I view JJK 265 as Sukuna and Yuji's 1-on-1 without Megumi's influence. JJK 266 is Yuji and Megumi's 1-on-1 with Sukuna suffering from Gojo brain damage in the background.

thank you for writing out all your thoughts on the dream theory!! it’s so so interesting and i have been thinking about it non stop lmaoo
i think it could be interesting to note that the only chapter title (i think) that mentions dreams is chapter 11. literally called “a dream”. this title is referring to gojo’s dream of “resetting” the world of jujutsu, and not really relating to this dream state/delusions. but it could still relate to this theory?
to achieve this dream, gojo explains that he became a teacher to foster strong allies, with yuuji front and center of that frame. yuuji wakes up right after this and while it’s unclear if he heard any of it at all, yuuji’s current dream (assuming the theory is correct) could be a way of preserving gojo’s memory, and therefore gojo’s dream of this fixed jujutsu world (specifically see gakuganji saying chill everything’s gonna be alright) where everyone is alive.
another interesting point is that the clocks in 268-269 seem to go backwards? in 268, when they realize they’re late to meet up with the others, the clock reads 2:52. but in 269, once they’re fully in the meeting, the clock reads 2:21. it could just be a coincidence but the clock in 269 takes up almost an entire page. and also when you’re dreaming time is all wonky/ clocks don’t work quite right…
(Click captions on images for citations.)
The dream used in JJK 270 differs slightly from JJK 11 in Japanese. Kanji can be read in multiple ways depending on a lot of things I don't have the energy to explain right now. Anyways, the dream in JJK 270 is 夢 (ゆめ=ゆ(Yu)め(Me)=Yume) while the dream in JJK 11 is 夢想 (むそう=む(Mu)そ(So)う(U)=Musou). The Furigana above the Kanji lets you know how it's supposed to be read.
Tumblr media
夢 (Yume) is referring to dreams in the general sense while 夢想 (Musou) is referring to a dream that is very unlikely to happen. It's almost like a wishful thinking type dream or goal if that makes sense?
This probably has some implications that are going over my head because my Japanese sucks, but I do think you're onto something. The dream/delusion Yuji has created has some preeeetty far fetched logistics not unlike Gojo's dream. Like the vessels of the incarnated sorcerers surviving the separation process at 1%. (This is excluding soul damage lobotomies.)
"yuuji’s current dream (assuming the theory is correct) could be a way of preserving gojo’s memory"
Honestly, that alone is a really good way to look at it. Yuji seems to be unable to confront Gojo's death head on, so the next best way to keep him "alive" is to see his dreams realized.
And yup that's another good catch. The clocks do be going backwards. (Kind of like resetting of the crappy Jujutsu world Gojo wants?)
Tumblr media
It's all so tragic though. Yuji trying to keep Gojo alive this way by denying his death and making his dreams come true. He's only 15...he doesn't know how to cope with it all.

by the way this is the procedure to get out of gaza
it costs 5k USD per adult and 2.5k USD per child
if you want to raise this money via GOFUNDME it has to be arranged by someone who is NOT living in Palestine because GFM does not release money to Palestine. GFM also verifies every detail so it has to be accurate so you need someone who is out of Palestine and also familiar with the bureaucracy.
once you raise the money one of your FIRST ORDER RELATIVES have to deposit this money IN CASH and IN PERSON at the Cairo offices of a company called hala. this person cannot be a Palestinian male under 40 because they are not allowed to be Egypt without a permit
once you pay the money you have to WAIT for your names to be published by Egyptian military at the Rafah crossing and the you have 24 hours to get out
it is a very long and convoluted process that is impossible for most Palestinians who do not have contacts in other counties. Please please donate to the GFMs you see floating around because they’ve been verified and this is only the first step in an arduous journey. Once in Cairo, Palestinians aren’t allowed to work so they need money for their support also.

How much information from Unlimited Void has Megumi suffered?
Tumblr media
I sat down and calculated the information/damage that Megumi had to go through because Sukuna had him shoulder the adaption of Mahoraga's wheel while inside the Domain Clashes (DC).
Relevant Information from Gojo's Domain Expension in Shibuya: it lasted 0.2 seconds, forced 6 months worth of information into non-sorcerers' brains and had them in a two month coma as a result.
1 second of Unlimited Void = 30 months of information
During their DCs, which happened 5 times, Gojo's sure-hit effect enveloped the entire domain while Sukuna's SH enveloped the entire domain except himself. This led to Sukuna being hit 5 times by UV but because he used the Ten Shadows Technique as a medium, he was able to redirect UV onto Megumi, making him the target of the SH.
How many seconds of UV was that? For the last three DCs we have concrete numbers, the first two are estimates by me:
DC: 20 seconds
DC: 120 seconds
DC: 189 seconds (3m9s, counted by Mei-Mei)
DC: 189 seconds (3m9s)
DC: 160 seconds (told by the narrator)
In total, Megumi was hit definitively by UV for 538s with an estimated 140s on top. Therefore, the months of information that was fed to him are: 16,140 months (definitive) + 4200 months (estimate). In years, these are 1,345 years (definitive) and 350 years (estimate).
Megumi was hit by Unlimited Void with about 1700 years worth of information
Tumblr media
That's the amount damage Megumi had to shoulder so that Sukuna could adapt Mahoraga to UV and protect himself. But because Megumi was only a soul at that point, he didn't die. We know that curse brains suffer less from UV than human brains, so a soul on its own most likely doesn't come out with lasting damage but only to the *body* of the soul.
What kind of effect this suffering will have on Megumi's mental state is anyone's guess. My personal theory on this is that Megumi will actually be able to understand that infinite amount of information and grow from it instead of receiving brain damage like Sukuna.

Megumi’s soul is not his brain, so the effects of UV would be different. Sukuna’s “brain” was LITERALLY Megumi’s, Megumi’s body was Sukuna’s vessel. That’s why 5 UV’s to Megumi’s soul didn’t have the same effect as it did on the brain.
Oh fudge you’re right. And right before Nobara nailed him, Sukuna damaged his (Megumi’s) brain to reset his burnt out cursed technique for the domain expansion. Sukuna was in the middle of healing it and then he got torn to shreds.
But if the soul is also the body then shouldn’t soul UV still have the same effect? Are we lowballing Megumi’s brain damage?
In a different post I joked about Gojo and Sukuna twinning their brain damage, but that’s also Megumi’s brain damage now…

what do you think of this? omg all these dream theories are actually terrifying me what kind of ending are we getting.....
Link to Tweet and the image from it.
Tumblr media
If OP's tweet isn't clear enough...
Dream's End is 夢の終わり(Yume no Owari) where 夢 (Yume) means Dream, の (no) means Of, and 終わり(Owari) means End.
The kanji 夢 (Yume) in hiragana is ゆ(Yu)め(Me). That's how you get ゆめの (YuMeNo).
Gege loves using wordplay and puns so this is not a stretch I think, anon.
...I also got this really interesting reply on this post by @frfx61. (I included @arikozumi's comment because that was my initial reaction too.)
Tumblr media
For no particular reason here is a source on Buddha's 5 Dreams from my extremely surface level research. Someone who actually knows Buddhism please fudging look into this. But for now here is a quote from that source:
"He dreamed that hordes of maggots, with white bodies and black heads, slowly crept up his legs covering them from the tip of the toe-nail right up to the knee-cap. This third dream presaged that a great many people (with black heads) who wear pure white clothes would adore the Buddha and take Great Refuge (Mahāsaranagamaṇa) in him."
Sukuna refers to all the people Yuji values as maggots at the start of the manga. And this entire sequence has been a peaceful refuge for everyone...

another oddity to add to your “dream/merger” list:
apparently the sorcerors were all chilling in Rika like a battle bus???? I haven’t heard anyone talk about this but it’s such an outlandish detail and seems stupid- Rika fought Sukuna himself. What if Sukuna killed Rika?? Are they all just SOL stuck in Sukuna?
there’s also the panel where Yuta’s body is slumped against Riki after the Yutajo operation. Implied he’s inside Shoko’s surgery- but how is Rika there in Shoko’s surgery with Yuta when they’re all inside Rika in the first place??? What is going on?
Either something is seriously up or Gege dgaf anymore and didn’t think the RikaBus plot point through and did it for the lolz 🤣
No you're onto something. That doesn’t make any sense. Megumi wakes up and it looks like they’re back at the school in the Tokyo mountains. And then they walk into the RikaBus that’s floating over Shinjuku???
Tumblr media
Gege has never flubbed location consistency before. This really sticks out like a sore thumb now that you mention it. Great catch anon!

begging you to post the dream theory to the reddits once it drops or give permission for someone else to post it
I'm definitely not posting any of my theories to Reddit myself. I like studying their opinions from a distance. Interacting with the JJK subreddits directly feels like I'm tampering with the ecosystem. I use Reddit a lot, but anonymously, so this isn't coming from a place of malice. I just want to keep those accounts separate.
For these reasons, I'm not really giving permission to post my theories there. I'd actually prefer someone to copy everything word for word and not credit me so I can continue to not exist to them. You have permission to plagiarize me I guess? (If you can post it in a way that doesn't link to this blog go for it.)
