Okay, for real, this is one of the coolest builds I’ve seen in a Sims game in a while. The scaling’s still way off as always with TS4 but the layout and the detailing are insane, there’s shit here I didn’t even know TS4 had.

the cultural reputation Star Trek has is so completely wrong and whenever I bring up shit that is definitely canon, like going back in time to rescue whales, or marshmelons, or the genocidal snowflake, or the security officer sleeping in a bucket, or the lizard man who’s on space crack, or the space pope/president of capitalism, or the very serious mpreg, or fucking THRESHOLD, everybody is like “WHAT” like sorry you thought this was a serious drama where the captain gets the girl every episode, here’s a waiter starting a union after jacking his enormous ears so hard he got an infection.

I’ve kinda been dealing with Sims a lot again lately and honestly, their dumb facial expressions are actually really impressive for how old this game is.  Someone remind me to play TS4 again sometime so I can remind myself how this one is still better.

I’m seeing fucking green

That episode I claimed to be working on, it’s taking a while isn’t it? Well there’s more where that came from - I think I’ve managed to turn the totally mundane into a science.

The science being visual effects. Visual effects that, with a bit of work, won’t even be noticed.

With the active Sim layers shot, I turn my attention to the background.

Then the background of the background. I’m using some @potato-ballad-sims assets because they happen to meet my requirements for this episode and because they’ve already saved me a couple of afternoons of work.

Put it all together et voila. It’s sure as hell not perfect because TS3 is still kind of a pain in the ass to work with, but taking advantage of the effects I can create using in-engine footage, half a dozen video layers and a few hours of work can make for a pretty good FX shot. One of about a dozen, in this case.

After that, all it takes is a little bit of postprocessing on top of the final composit, and then I can cut the shot down and edit it in. I didn’t do this one in one sitting but if I had, I think it would’ve taken me 4 hours. Not too bad!

What a coincidence - just the other day, I was looking into the possibility of implementing something on a very basic level. I’ve got a fun idea or two for integrating gameplay into videos.

I got a couple of asks like “How to make my game look beautiful? I’m new to the Sims 2, any tips? Why is your game so bright? The grass so green? The water so reflective??” and so on. I decided to make a guide for new ts2 players that will help to answer all such questions. In general, I just gathered all the basic information about my musthave mods/defaults/cheats/photoshop editing/creating hood/downloading CC and more and more. So, if you’re new for the world of the Sims 2 and want to know how to improve your gameplay pictures, this “Starter pack” guide is what you need! I’m never going to run out of reasons to stop loving this game and the people who play it. Look at that!

I was playtesting in Isla Paradiso the last conversions I have made from Sims 4 Jungle Adventure and couldn’t resist to make some Havana style facades. I think I should make an Isla Paradiso remake because I’m in love with this.

Has anyone else noticed how many mid-century cars you can get for TS3 these days? It’s almost excessive. I mean, guys, between this and the whole boatload of themed sets you can get on the Store (roadside diner #1, space age kitchen, space age nursery #1, space age living room set #1, space age living room set #2, space age nursery #2, space age electronics, Mad Men fashions, Grease fashions, roadside diner #2 etc. etc. etc.) the stories practically write themselves.

I’m doing an ‘80s thing here and working my ass off to make it seem legit, meanwhile there’s this whole 50s collection you can just grab off the internet 😏

So if no one else is going to be the Sunset Valley ‘58 to my Bridgeport’88, I guess I’ll have to do it myself....😉

The 20th century is alive and well in Brooklyn City! It’s 1939, and one can no longer escape the skyscrapers, the fast steam trains and the seemingly endless pool of automobiles. That is, of course, unless one would use either mode of transportation to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city quickly, quietly and comfortably....

Here’s Episode 1, folks!

Well, shit, that took an age and a half but I finally got this one done. I’m pretty goddamn happy with it, too. There’s bits in it that I genuinely really like. 

So that’s that clusterfuck of a project over with, it’ll be a few weeks at least before I’ll be fully occupied by the next episode, so I’m going to try to stop letting this stupid Tumblr rot away in my absence.

With varying degrees of success, some attempts at creating futuristic fashions! 

Featuring turtleneck collars, floral patterns, shoulder pads and rubber. It might not be in good taste but it sure as shit is tacky.

ALSO, FYI, the next episode of BRIDGEPORT’88 will be up on the 13th.

Uh yeah, I guess? Depends on the kind.

I gathered up a small Sim crowd to see how they'd behave in a crowded environment. A short recap of the events that followed in the next 3 and a half minutes.

The group quickly spreads out. 

The World’s Horniest Woman immediately starts hitting on the Blonde in Pink Top and fails(!) but tries again and succeeds. It’s good to know that no matter where and when you’ll go, Amber Parker is entirely consistent. If gay marriage were legal in the 80s I suspect she’d be in her 3rd one by the end of the afternoon.

Blonde in Green Blazer starts telling a spooky story and immediately attracts the attention of self-centered douche Kurt Deutschlander and the normally reserved, mature Laura Gallagher. Sims will be Sims.

Not a minute later, the aforementioned Casanov-ette has decided she’s not a fan of Blonde in Pink Top and moves on to Brunette with Bowtie (her wife in the “regular” 2010s universe) and pulls the exact same shit. 

It’s at this point that the crowd collectively decides to start awkwardly shuffling around to look for someone new to talk to....or shout at profanely. Sims will be Sims. Except Amber of course, she’s too busy to tell anyone what to go do with themselves.

Finally, before I decide the experiment has been worthwhile and (mostly) satisfactory, Kurt here decides to show something grossly shocking to Blonde Usually in Brightly Coloured Leotard but currently in Lilac Suit. I don’t think Two Sims One Cup existed in 1988, but then again, neither did smartphones so who knows.

Now for my next trick, I’ll double the amount of Sims. So long, suckers.
