Now the Sons Look For Their Fathers/ But Their Fathers Are All Gone
Fandom: Startrek
By: Straight_Outta_Hobbiton, Complete Work, Words: 30,513, Category: Gen
Plot: After the events of the 2009 movie, Bones takes care of a bunch of Vulcan Kids aboard the Enterprise
My Score: It's like, really good. Read it. For real.
My semi related ramblings:
I've been a big fan of TOS for a while and I've read my share of fanfic about Kirk, Spock and McCoy (I've not really consumed anything beyond TOS, the reboots and below deck, should get on that) but this little Guy managed to completely melt my heart. While I'm a complete sucker for Parenting-fics either way (Biased!) "Now the Sons"  stood out with its solid writing and simple yet convincing storyline. Maybe 'Grounded'? (hA, cuz theyre in space lol) A totally underappreciated gem in my opinion. If you also have mommy issues you need to work through, give this a read for sure. The length is good, 'meaty' enough, not too long but still has oneshot-ish vibes (depends on your standards). This work has a follow up which I also liked and is worth a read for sure, although I prefer "Now the Sons". Unfortunately it's incomplete (but marked as finished, tsk...) which is very sad and I don't believe it will get an update. Probably one of my favorite works in the Startrek Fandom for sure, maybe even in my top 10 of all time.
Finding good fics to read sometimes feels like sifting through piles of garbage (harsh sorry), but shit like this makes it all worth it. That's why I wanted this to be my first post rather than something on the top page. I'm not sure if i'll only stick to the 'harder to find' kind of stuff with these recommendations. I think the only parameter I actually want to set myself is me liking the work to at least some degree.
(Unrelated, but I checked this authors profile and they've only ever written one Lotr fic?? and it's a bleach crossover... sad.)
If someone actually reads this fic because of me and would like to share their opinion with me, feel free to do so!

Intro
I'm looking for a creative outlet to help with the,, everything. Since the only thing i do in my free time is read fanfiction, I'll be writing fic-reviews/recomendations. Do people do this anymore? I haven't been active in fandom in like over a decade, and I was like, 12 back then. Forgive me if I step on anyones toes. I neither expect anyone to read this, nor do I actually know how tumbr works. Feel free to send me recommendations (although I might not take them).
I'm a massive fandom hopper (If that's what you call it??) and I will read most things I know the source material of. No HP pls tho lol🫡
Excuse my spelling/grammar/bad writing. English is my third language and i'm also just,,,, generally bad at spelling/grammar/writing in any language so, uh. Yeah.
