If you're missing Nancy Drew, I am shouting it from the rooftop and saying Lockwood & Co (on netflix) is BEYOND worth watching. The venn diagram comparing them is literally a circle. We've got:
Traumatized teens forming a found family
Ghosts and mysteries
An epic slowburn that's stronger than you could ever imagine from the first second of the first episode
Comedy (that balances perfectly with the heavier stuff)
Also swords (Bess had a sword in 2x15. This counts.)
Stellar acting, visuals, a nice soundtrack, all those things
Did I mention there's ghosts??
Just try it!!!!

Madi: The child of 2 mass murderers. Can’t wait to meet her.
Diyoza: Aren’t you the child of 2 mass murderers?
Madi: Just the one.
Diyoza: But Bellamy?
Madi: I just met Bellamy last week.
Diyoza: What the hell…

I was thinking this exact same thing!
I’m really glad they let us learn more of Echo’s past - Backstories always seem to help me understand characters better. Especially when they are done in flashback-form. I suppose it just makes them feel more human...
Anyhow, this scene REALLY got to me. So glad they included it!
Okay on the subject of Echo’s backstory, can you imagine how fucking horrifying it would be to go by the name of the friend you had to kill before she killed you? How long did it take for her to stop seeing her friend every time someone said “Echo” and how did she react when she started automatically responding to it? And was Ryker the first person to call her by her real name in all these years? I am so fucking angsty over this!!!

My thoughts exactly :)
In my rewatch of 6x10 I realized Russell outright called Madi Clarke's daughter. And let's be honest, anyone with eyes can see the Bellarke love. I just wanna know if he's under the impression she's the biological Bellarke child because I mean, he knows she has the same blood as Clarke and you have to be fair she does look a little like Bellamy too

Murphy Season 5 analysis/S6 predictions!
Ok so... I’m gonna be a total John Murphy Geek here but I absolutely love his character arc and I wanted to take a couple minutes to talk about it. I mean this man went from severely injuring people in order to save his own butt (Charlotte, Bellamy, etc.), to being willing to sacrifice his own butt so that people he genuinely cared about could be saved (Emori and the gang in the finale and Raven earlier in S5).
The writers have somehow brought him nearly full-circle over these 5 seasons and yet left him in a place where he can still grow in his character. If that’s not a pretty unique arc, I don’t really know what is.
I’ve read and watched so many stories (including many of my faves) where the villain-turned-good-guy has ended up dead after he is redeemed in his peers’ eyes. I’m not sure about you all but I honestly can’t express how glad I am that the writers will likely extend Murphy’s story beyond the redemption he received this season.
What kind of continuation will the writers give us? Honestly - I can never really know for sure. What do I personally hope the writers will give us? Well, my guess is that the guilt he’s expressed with permanently injuring Raven, emotionally abandoning Emori, etc. will come back to haunt him big time... Especially after he finds out that, yet again, it was someone else (this time TWO of his CLOSEST FRIENDS) who made a heroic sacrifice for the good of the group and not him.
I feel like, in order for his storyline come full circle in the very end he’s going to need to re-evaluate his definition of redemption and heroism.
Does anyone have any guesses as to what S6 will hold for John-the-Cockroach-Murphy? Feel free to amuse me with any random Murphy-related-thoughts!

No one asked for this but I just have to say...
I’m sitting here grinning to myself because this is pretty much 95% the same story that I have when it comes to watching The 100! Seriously - I tend to feel like such a loser for not watching every single season of my now-favorite TV show but I’m so glad that at least someone is in this boat with me! I now feel like a non-loser and my anxiety in this area has dissipated so thank you @angee1011 <3
Sorry for all of you who’ve heard me say this before but... when I first saw the 100, I was a wee thing who wasn’t quite accustomed to my favorite, or any, characters kicking the bucket (watching The Office doesn’t do much to prepare you for that). Thus, Finn’s death kind of did me in for a while (What can I say? He was a funny and I was a fan!).
Then the trailer for Season 5 randomly showed up on my YouTube feed one day.
I’m still not sure how that happened. But I am SOOO glad it did. This season might have been slowish or odd to some people (which I can totally see) but, thanks to some beautiful character arcs I’ve discovered along the way (I’m looking at you, John Murphy) it has actually given me the inspiration I’ve needed to get my brain spinning and my pen writing and get me creating some stories of my own.
If you read this whole thing, thanks a million for listening to my mini-speel and I hope you can find something, even the tiniest thing, to inspire you today!
Confession time
So I’ll admit it… I stopped watching the 100 after season two. I saw the trailer and read all the spoilers for season three and thought “yawn”. Same with season four.
I know I missed important things. But the whole concept of it all just didn’t do anything for me.
But then. Somehow I came across the trailer for season 5… the one that first premiered right after season 4 with Madi telling the story of the the delinquents. And realized that Clarke would be stepping into a new role as a mom and she’s been alone for six years without ANYONE. I was immediately hooked.
Now I didn’t go back and watch all the episodes of season three… just the first few. And I was right. I wasn’t interested. It just felt like the same old story line time and time again. And the only episode I watched of season four was the finale so I knew where things had left off.
I watched every single episode of season 5. Not because of Bellarke, tho I’ll admit, they are the main reason I watched in the beginning. Season five was the first season in like 2.5 years that I actually was fully invested in. I loved every episode. It honestly kept me guessing every episode not because things weren’t predictable but because I was never sure how far they’d take things.. Yes, things were a bit chaotic and a lot of it did feel like filler for the next chapter… But I still got to see those new character dynamics I was hoping for and I loved them. To me, it felt like the 100 was missing something. And that was Madi. Clarke’s so well rounded now. And Bellamy is finally being the leader he was meant to be.
I can’t wait for season six. A new planet? Yes, thank you. I love the call back to season one. A new character in the form of Monty and Harper’s son, aka Bellarke’s godson? Hi, hello, new member of the Bellarke fam. Hopefully some episodes in which we get some damn drawn out conversation between Bellamy and Clarke? I fucking hope so.
All in all, I thought it was a fantastic season.

So... I was reminded of this little moment by a post earlier today (thanks, @hauntingmexxx !) Thus, I decided to try my hand at making these gifs partly because I love this scene and partly because of the lack of my favorite Bird and Cockroach in tonight’s episode...
Also, these are the first gifs I’ve ever made so I know they’re not perfect... pretty please, be nice :)

Here’s a random prediction question about who’d survive The 100...
Ok so... hypothetically speaking here... if The 100 (like the ENTIRE show; not just season 5) were to end with say 4 current characters (don’t have to be main characters) left alive together, who do you guys THINK it would be? Also, who would you WANT it to be?
This thought just popped up in my head today and I really want to see what other people think. Feel free to reply and let me know!

John Murphy Mini-rant/Speculation :)
(Just to make it clear: these are all just my random thoughts and my thoughts always come from my imperfect brain so pretty please take my ideas for what they’re worth and be kind to my imperfect little brain :) )
OK. YOU GUYS. As Murphy is my favorite character (not just in the 100 but maybe, like my favorite ever lol), I always worry about him a little but honestly, I’m really getting concerned for him this season. As much as I love his whole “redemption arc” thing with him being so remorseful and self-sacrificing and all (first for Raven in space and now volunteering to get Abby back), I really hope he doesn’t take it too far and get himself killed/written off.
It’s interesting to me that his sacrificial actions seem to all be for Raven’s benefit in one way or another. Although he has brought harm at one point or another to many of his other friends, Raven Reyes definitely seems to be his primary motivating factor (just sayin’). I’m totally aware that she is the main physical representation of his actions that still exists, however, she has already told him that the whole paralyzed-leg-thing is in the past for her (basically forgiving him). Not to mention, Murphy’s paralyzing of Raven was truly never intentional (unlike hanging Bellamy, etc.). Despite all these things, Murphy still cant seem to get over his mistake when it comes to the beloved mechanic though.
I don’t know if it’s just the die-hard-Murphy-fan in me that wants our lovable Cockroach to survive season 5 (and - let’s be honest - survive the whole show) but I honestly thing that it would be more of a plot twist at this point if Murphy attempted to sacrifice or almost sacrificed his life for Raven in the finale but, instead, got his own butt saved by someone who cares for HIM instead. In my opinion, this would most likely be Emori or Raven (or even Bellamy or some combo of characters but probably not). I just see even more potential for Murphy’s character development as he is still quite self-centered (I don’t know about you but I can sense a lot of self pity) but in a very different way than in S1.
Honestly though, I have like 15 different ways that a season finale scene like this could play out (and we can’t forget this is The 100 after all so we will never truly know ‘till it happens) so I’m really not sure what will happen to my favorite Cockroach and his closest comrades (namely Raven) this season. Anyone have any thoughts? Will he survive the current crazy hell-hole? Will he have a close brush with death? Or will all of Raven’s “cockroach” quips be proven wrong?
(trust me. I do not want the latter.)

My take on “Murven”
(As of post-5x04)
Whether they end up being platonic frienemies, falling in love, or somewhere awkwardly in between; Murphy and Raven’s relationship is honestly one of the most realistic yet confusing banters that The CW (or maybe even TV) has ever seen. Somehow the writers have created a pair that reminds me of my relationship with my conniving little brother, my annoying classmate, and my sarcastically adorable crush all at the same time.

The Beauty of Watching The 100
I gave up watching The 100 in season 2 when my favorite character died but now I started watching season 5 and I have officially fallen in love with Murphy and Bellamy - the 2 guys that I used to passionately hate. It’s amazing what 6 years in space and skipping 2.5 seasons can do to someone.
