Be the Witch They Deserve

Yes, you read that correctly. I am often asked what type of Witch I am. More often than not my answer is, “What type of Witch do you want me to be?”. This will usually result in either a chuckle or confusion. But this is simply my way of telling people that the Witch they get to deal with is a direct result of their behavior.

Let’s be honest as much as we might prefer to be do no harm, healing, love and light Witches, not everyone we have dealings with deserves that version of us. Yes I certainly understand that those people could just be ignored. However I feel that does nothing but instill in such people that their behavior is acceptable. Which is the furthest thing from the truth.

Most of our mundane selves would not be kind, caring and respectful to a person or persons who were treating us poorly. So why should your Witch self do it? The simple truth of the matter is that he or she should not. Trust me when I say there are some people out there that deserve to meet the dark Witch inside you. The one with the fuck around and find out attitude. Do not be afraid to let that Witch out if the situation warrants it. It’s called matching energy, and if people don’t like it they should behave better.

Witchcraft: Stop Making It Complicated!

Seriously, please just stop! Complicated witchcraft is completely unnecessary. Let’s be honest most of us lead busy mundane lives. Do we really have the time or energy for complicated and time consuming spells? The answer I am sure from most of you is a resounding No! Also given the cost of goods is it really economically wise to perform these complex spells which often require an extensive list of supplies? The average witch I am sure would agree that the answer is of course it is not. Truth be told the only thing truly needed for a spell to be affective is a Witch’s belief that it will be. Therefore if you believe that writing the name of the person or thing you wish to banish from your life on a piece of paper and flushing it down the toliet will work then chances are it will. The point is Magick in my opinion should improve your life. It should fit into your daily routine seamlessly. Complicated spells do just the opposite. So fellow witches what are some super simple spells you like to do? Let’s help each other make our lives easier and show that witchcraft is not a chore and accessible to all. How to Dress a Candle

“Dressing” is the term most often used to mean anointing the candle with oil. Dressing the candle is done in the following procedure:

Starting from the center of the candle, rub your oil on the candle’s surface with your right hand (left, if you’re left-handed), upward to the candle’s wick. Continue rubbing the oil on the candle’s surface, from the center upwards until the entire top half of the candle is anointed.

Then from the candle’s center, rub downward to the bottom of the candle. Continue rubbing the oil from the center downward until the bottom half of the candle’s surface is anointed.

It is very important that you concentrate upon the symbolism which the candle has in your ritual while you’re anointing it. The act of concentration while anointing the candle with oil firmly sets in the mind of the operator the vibratory influence which the candle will have during the ritual. To further fix in your mind the symbolism the candle has in your ritual, hold the candle in your right hand (left, if left-handed) and visualize the candle’s symbolism. If the candle represents money, see money or the amount if you need; if love, a heart; etc…

Magickal Herbs: Yerba Santa

Greetings fellow witches! About a month ago I wrote a blog on Yerba Mate. So I figured I should also write one on Yerba Santa. So here goes.

Some folk names for this herb are; Bear Weed, Mountain Balm and Sacred Herb. While Yerba Mate is masculine Yerba Santa is Feminine. Its powers are Healing, Protection, Beauty and Psychic Powers.

Add leaves to healing incense

Carry leaves to increase psychic powers

Add to bath to improve one’s beauty.

When carried it offers protection.

Magickal Herbs: Yerba Mate

Ok witches time to share some more Magickal herbal knowledge. This time I have chosen to write about an herb that may not be familiar to everyone. Once you read this I hope that you will agree that Yerba Mate is an herb worth adding to witchcraft.

Yerba Mate is also known as Paraguay Tea. This herb is considered to be masculine. Powers of Yerba Mate are Love, Fidelity and Lust.

Drink an infusion as a lust potion with your love to ensure you stay together.

If worn you will attract the opposite sex.

Spill on the ground if you want to end a relationship.

Magickal Herbs: Grass

Greetings again Witches. This time I’m blogging about a plant so common that it is usually overlooked by most witches. Yes that green stuff growing in our yards and other grasses are very useful Magickal ingredients.

Upon doing some research I could find nothing of the gender, planet or element associated with grass. Its powers are protection and psychic powers. It is both serene and quirky. Lying on a patch of grass has a way of just calming ones soul. However i say that it is quirky in that it seems to have a mind of its own. For grass tends to grow where it wants and not where you wish. Call it a trickster plant.

Some Magickal uses are as follows:

A ball of green grass hung in front of a window of your home will protect it and keep evil away.

To help with psychic powers carry a blade of grass. I wonder if a bracelet woven of blades of grass might not serve the same purpose.

A simple wish spell can be done by marking a stone green with grass. As you do so visualize your wish or need. Once done you should either bury the stone or throw it into running water. I would say bury for things you wish to bring to you and running water for things you wish to banish.

Greetings fellow witches. Decided to take a few moments and blog on yet another magickal herb. Please be advised that as this herb is poisonous it should under no circumstances be consumed. Also care should be taken when used in spell work. So without further ado here is a brief blog about Adam & Eve Root.

Adam & Eve Root is ruled by the planet Venus. This feminine herb is associated with the element of water. Love and happiness are its powers.

Magickal uses are as follows:

If given to a couple they will ensure that they remain happy.

The two roots should be carried in a small bag at all times if you wish to attract love.
