Playthrough test for Day 3 - no NPCs
I will be doing a test walkthrough of areas for Day 3 later on today so that I can assess the accurate placement of the NPCs that the player will need to interact with and also judge exactly where clues are going to need to be.

I spend ages trying to find a screenshot that will hold people's attention so that they can see what I am working on. In this case, this is an underground passage that is in a secret area and which has some of Troy Malin's old prototypes there for storage.
The actual risk to the player is minimal however I want to present it as if the player is in danger from these machines and also have a "What is around that corner" kind of feel to it, which can be hard to achieve. On testing it, because any kind of surprise frankly makes me jump, even though I knew that the S12 was probably around a corner I still went "WUHHHHH!" and my chair slid back, so it is doing what it is supposed to do. Also I never remember where I put things like this - making a player guide may be a challenge!

Work Log
Sunday, May 9:
Neville's Dialogue:
Completed Neville's dialogue for Day 2.
Observatory Passageway:
Finished building and integrating the area under the observatory.
This new passageway connects the top of the island to the end of Smugglers Run, providing a safer route.
Intrigue Element:
Adding a giant spider on a loop patrol within the passageway to add an element of intrigue and challenge for the player.
Expected completion within the next hour.
PCG Volumes Optimization:
Converted PCG volumes to packed instances and actors.
Achieved an eightfold increase in FPS, significantly improving performance.
Next Steps
Finish Adding the Giant Spider Patrol:
Ensure the spider’s patrol adds the right amount of challenge and intrigue without being overly difficult.
Test the passageway with the spider in place to ensure it works smoothly.

I am the developer of the game The Wickie. I would introduce you to my team however there isn't one (except for my freelance artist who develops the character 2d artwork - she rocks). I will post up links and things Im sure if I start using the old Tumbler fella.
Some information about me. Im ...er.. about 52. Been developing games since I was 13, back in a far off time called the 80s. I have been sharing knowledge and making tutorials for 20 years or more, initially via my website 3d-palace.com which is still there but basically does nothing anymore as everyone prefers youtubery.
I have been working on the game I am on now for 4 years and its nearly done. I like Lovecraftian stuff when its done right, I like chocolate biscuits and I like bagpuss.
I also have 5 adult kids, two cute puppers, kitties and a lovely wife.
