I hope none of you are sleeping on this movie on Netflix: Akelarre, also called Coven. It's a basque film from 2020 about a group of teenage girls being accused of being witches in 1609. Don't worry, it's actually pretty good. None of that American puritan influence, this is a European catholic witch hunt.

About Faust's murder, is there any possibility that his action was not against homosexuality but against sexual harassment? Maybe that gay man had sexually assaulted him, so he killed him?

He never said the man sexually harassed him. His lawyer claimed that an advance was made and that Faust, being “sexually inexperienced” and having a learning disability, didn’t know how to cope and reacted by stabbing him. Which to me seems like an attempt to mount a defence more effective than “he wanted to know what it’s like to kill someone”, which seems to be the actual reason why, judging by what people who know Faust had said. That defence (gay panic) is now invalid in most jurisdictions anyway
