In a perfect world, the UOWII would have come either right after Carlos left the desert otherworld, or right after Cecil and Carlos got married.

part of me wonders what would have happened if the uowii plot had happened far earlier in the series, closer to when they were initially introduced. i think it's so impactful because it came so long after carlos has settled down and made a family (and after night vale has acknowledged and accepted that they're not like other towns) but still. i wonder what it would've been like earlier, especially for carlos.
