In almost a week, this will be home for my clients!!! Here is a little #TuesdayTip for a first time homeowners must-haves after closing: ✔ Ladder (get a ladder to be able to replace light bulbs, hang pics, etc) ✔ Drill and Drill Bits (it is finally your walls so you can drill pictures on the wall) ✔ Level (make sure those pictures aren't crooked) ✔ Caulk (there may be places that may need to be caulked after awhile. Grab some interior and exterior caulk to keep your home up) ✔ Batteries (those smoke detectors go off at the wrong time) ✔ Measuring Tape (measure twice and cut once...OR measure before you buy. I tell this to my friends ALL THE TIME before purchasing furniture). ✔ Fire Extinguisher (there a few little things that may get you discount on your homeowner's insurance such as safety measures like an alarm system and an extinguisher) ✔ Small Tool Set (not everything needs to be drilled. Hey December!!! We have almost made it through the craziness of 2020. Just finished a buyer's pre-build orientation and I have a #TuesdayTip for you. The pre-build meeting is the time to acknowledge that everything you asked for in the design center is on the order form. You also want to make sure electrical is where they need to be. Do you want to mount the TV? Would you prefer an electrical outlet higher than near the floor? Tip I gave my clients today was to walk through a floorplan like theirs and pay attention to the lights and light switches. Are they in places that make sense to you? Do you need to go add a light or switch in that area? Congrats to Michelle on the purchase of her new home! FUN FACT: Michelle and I were both point guards on rival basketball teams back in Louisiana. She played for Ouachita and I played for Ruston. Now she claimed they used to beat us but I don't know what has happened with her memory from mid-2000s to now. My recollection does not recall that AT 👏🏾ALL👏🏾. 😂🤣 We played OUACHITA ALL THE DAMN TIME.
