as a person who uses either public bathroom on a toss of a coin i gottta say its kind of ridicuous that people are so attached to them being seperate facilities. youre not usually gonna see anyones dick at the urinal and youre not usually gonna be able to spy on any women. the stalls are the same except one has a little tampon bin. we would lose nothing if all bathrooms were unisex and i'll die on that hill.

During her games, Katniss realizes that the kids from 12 are at a disadvantage because in school they don't learn anything useful for their future mining jobs, things such as using a pickaxe or setting explosives, which could also be useful in the arena.

Except they used to. Haymitch says that he knows about explosives because he learned it in school. Which means that Snow saw 1 (one) kick-ass boy from District 12 trying to blow up the Arena and it scared him so much that he completely changed the school curriculum of District 12.

For an all-powerful dictator, he really is a scared lil bitch.

There are two separate instances of Haymitch thinking he's about to die: during the chariot disaster and after using the explosives in the arena. Both times he's at peace with it and the real tragedy is that he doesn't die. He is forced to carry on after seeing Louella die. He is sewn back together and shown off to Capitol as a victor. He is so ready to die and he never does.

You know those posts about one of Bruce’s kids getting kidnapped and him having no idea which kid they have based on the vague descriptions he’s given? Well now I can’t only imagine Bruce getting the dreaded call and immediately pulling out a guess who board filled entirely with his kids. Like

One thing that Sunrise on the Reaping got me thinking about is the fact that Coriolanus Snow, while rich and powerful and able to ruin the life of everyone around him - basically led an extremely shitty life.

He is 58 and still bitter about the girl he had a relationship with when he was 18 (and oh what a stark contrast he makes agains Haymitch's undying love for Lenore Dove). He poisons anyone who causes any sort of trouble around him: he could have just fired the guy responsible for the Chariot disaster, but no, he had to become an example, and to do so he poisons himself. How many times did he do through that kind of pain just to get rid of someone? How fucking obvious must it have been for literally anyone around him that he was going around poisoning people left and right?

There he is, the leader of the nation, almost 60, puking on the couch because he can't deal with his underlings the normal way and still thinking about his teenage crush. Get a fucking grip man.

As someone who liked the idea of Haymitch and Effie being a couple, I am of course a bit sad after SotR, but also... We were right. There was a connection there. Just not the kind of connection we thought.
