Thank you! Your kind words mean so, so much to us! We still remember your other posts about us clear as day. I guess this one makes it a trilogy. ;)

It was challenging trying to fit in as much news as possible while balancing other factors like post length and sticking to the story themes. Writing each issue was very much like assembling a puzzle made of words and URLs in just the right way. So we definitely did little victory dances inside our heads every time we were able to include someone new in the next issue. Hopefully, we did okay! 🐌

I remember when the thneedtimes started out I was expressing some doubt over whether or not it would be a good thing to introduce to a fandom that to me seemed to always have drama over attention-seeking

and I’m not just saying this because I have much love for the mods (although thats also tru) but I was really impressed with the work y'all were doing to be as inclusive as possible ✨👍 that’s hard work dudes. I’m so glad for all your efforts and it really paid off

in 2012 when the fandom was buzzing it was actually an enormous source of stress for me to keep up with all the blogs and people I loved…since I worked a 24/7 job at one point and was a full time student, and there was NONSTOP content on tumblr. so I was actually relieved when the activity died down a bit in the later years. I could keep on top of things as best I could until it started to pick up again and I was just @_@

so thanks @thneedtimes for being a wonderful way for busy bees like myself to find a little footing in this fandom that I still am so glad to be a part of in my little ways 😌💕 your hard work was much much appreciated

Now that we’ve gotten the mod post out of the way, I also want to say that we’ve read all of your comments and they made me cry, thank you all so much!

We’ve kept a record of a few shameful behind-the-scenes moments from Skype in regards to working on the paper, and we’ve decided to share them! The fandom was very inactive before August, as you can see from our convos, but later there was so much news that we had trouble fitting it all in (a good thing).

~ THNEED TIMES ~ mod post

~The Thneed Times is a sideblog shared by 3 mods. Mod D is me, Miru. I’m the one who does the research and writing for each issue.

~This is Chriss as Mod S and I basically check over each issue and whatever’s in our draft before posting and offer a second opinion on things. I also tried to make sure nothing gave us away. We decided to assign Mod B status to my askblog, 12, to try and complete the BDSM initials because we’re totally serious writers like that (and we needed a coffee runner to satisfy my coffee needs).

Hummingfish Pizza ~Hi this is Miru again! Thank you so much for reading our paper! And I am so sorry if you had hoped to be mentioned in an issue but never were. We really did try our best to include a variety of blogs and to figure out ways to link to lesser known blogs in our news stories, directly or indirectly.

~Also, I’ve found that the decision to feature something was often influenced by how much people seemed to care about it that week. So it doesn’t matter if our silly little paper mentioned you or not. What’s important is individual fandom members reaching out to each other. Have fun, post in the fandom tags, and look in them, as well!

~At the same time, I’m surprised and flattered that people cared about this paper to the extent that they were happy to be mentioned or sad to have not been mentioned. I never expected to get so many followers on this blog (almost 420, blaze it!), because at the very beginning, we intended to just be a shady, underground news source even though we posted in the fandom tags that passively stalked blogs and whispered info in a dark alleyway. We were anonymous in case we got hate. We’ve changed since then.

~And I like to think...that we did a good job. Working on this paper definitely took up most of my free time, and even though it’s always just been for fun, we worked really hard to post every issue on time each week despite going through some rocky spots in life or being on vacation.

Thornville ~Wednesdays were usually dedicated to catching up with Thornville askblogs. We had some resistance at the beginning from anon asks (that we haven’t published) about having a section for Thornville at all, but I’m glad we didn’t listen to them. Turns out, I enjoyed keeping up with Thornville blogs and I loved watching everyone have fun. I’ve learned about so many OCs that I had never heard of before we started the paper (thanks Minty for acquainting me!) and I’ve grown attached to a lot of them. I’ve also noticed that many Thornville mods seemed to really appreciate being mentioned in our issues!? Which made me ridiculously happy. Your excited tags made this whole experience worth it! :’)

Name Origins ~The name “Thneed Times” was taken from Rachel’s drawing of a newspaper, submitted to my Audrey askblog on Dec. 31st, 2013. I had headcanoned with Rachel that Audrey would one day find an old paper dating back to when the Once-ler was at the height of his success, and it was going to show a scandalous story about him on the front page. Bless you, Rachel.

~The subheading “This Booty Ass Town” originated from when Bitter expressed his frustrations to One about Thornville’s magic anon phenomenon (July 14th, 2013). One picked up the phrase and used it later, too.

~“What’s the dish, hummingfish?” is a parody of the Big Bang Theory episode where Penny answers her door multiple times and greets Sheldon with a different cute rhyming phrase each time. The vanity card idea (our 15 Cents section) came from this show, as well.

~As for “Paparazzi Pizza”, I just thought it sounded cute.
