My understanding is these flaws come from people who leave it too long or don't wash properly. It's the same for acetone. Acetone is incredible with removing marks that won't come off with just soap and water. Or for deflocking. However I have slipped up and near the end, having been exhausted and with wrists cramping, and a headache setting in from the fumes, I didn't properly wash the spots I used it on. I still used a wet cloth, wiped, dried. But not really well like usual. Thankfully mine was a VERY small spot and hidden. But all the same, I won't say don't use acetone. Acetone works wonders. The fault comes down to the person using it.
Also.... please tell me the person didn't ruin the pony further by using marker over all the spots?! Whyyy???😭

When to use acne cream on a MLP:  NEVER.
Acne cream (specifically Remove-Zit) used to be a popular way for collectors to “fade away” pen marks and other stains.  But the chemicals in acne cream can cause a pony to discolor or bleach.
Also:
Sometimes the discoloration will SPREAD from the original spot where the cream was applied.
If the pony is in physical contact with other ponies, they too may begin to discolor or fade.
Sometimes a pony will not start discoloring until years later.
Although most of these ponies are blue, even white ponies can discolor (getting yellow spots).
Even today, you will sometimes hear people advising you to use acne cream.  Don’t do it.  It’s not worth the risk.
Side note: I have heard some doll collectors use acne cream in a similar matter.  It is entirely possible that acne cream works great on certain kinds of plastic.  But MLP vinyl isn’t one of them.

Recommendation that's affordable, safe and effective for removing rust from hair is all white toothpaste. Again, ALL WHITE toothpaste. Just grab some at Dollar Tree or when it's on sale for 88 cents at the grocery store!

I seem to be unlucky and getting a lot of gross and stinky ponies lately. There’s a whole batch of adult G1s that reek of mold which I’m working on killing with UV light exposure. It’s working pretty well, and restoring their color.
So at least I know how to deal with it, I guess, but I’d rather get nice, not stinky ponies that just need their hair fixed sometimes, you know?

Might go crazy and give her some alternate colors... but then do I keep her as my first non-original color-scheme rehair? Or sell her as intended? Hmm.. 🤔

Isn't she beautiful? Her hair was VERY dry and a single curl looked awful. I'm glad I decided to give multiple small curls a try, because it looks so much better with her dry tail!
