I'm very sorry that Dazai, Chuuya or any other more or less popular character is ruined like this. BSD fandom is insane. There are a lot of characters in BSD, and if you understand them correctly, you will love almost every one of them. But people only focus on two or four, and either don’t care about the rest or hate them. They say they love bsd, but they don't even want to understand Fukuchi. You have every right to not like a certain character, but mischaractezing them.....

They say they want to see characters that they can empathize with. But then they hate Katai or Nathaniel. They want interesting female characters but then all they say about Yosano or Kouyou is that they're lesbians like that's their only traits (which aren't even canon). They want to see a serious character with good morals, and then they hate Kunikida. They want a character with a sad past that they feel sorry for. And then they won't even remember Atsushi or Akutagawa. They want a mysterious character who is interesting to talk about. But then all they'll do is say how Nikolai is not serious. They say they love the Guild, but then they hate John and Nathaniel and only love Lucy and Edgar. They want a sad story, but then you only remember Chuuya for Soukoku sake and don't even remember Kunikida and Sasaki's relationship. They won't even mention Tachihara or Teruko, they're only interested in Jouno and Tetcho, and only for the sake of the pairing. Francis, Louisa, Kenji, Q, Kajii, Hirotsu, John, Lovecraft, Mark, Margaret, Higuchi, Yuan, Shirase, Ango? I bet they don't even remember who they are. They only remember Dazai and Chuuya, and they don't even try to dig deeper. BSD is a serious work, you can’t just take it and understand it.
