Okay but consider, when Artemis goes on his little vacation from living at the end of The Last Guardian, out of all the fairy species, the Demons would be the most devastated. In the last chapter of the Lost Colony, it describes how everyone in the time tunnel was able to peer into everyone else's minds, how there would always be a connection between them all even if they couldn't remember each others memories.

So imagine the Demons, post losing their island, post losing their culture, post the world shaking itself to pieces thanks to Opal. Then you hear that Artemis, a child, who saved your people is dead and he died protecting the fairy world again.

Thinking about how ds9 came out on the tail end of the AIDs crisis. How Garak and Bashir represent two very different types of gay men in that landscape: an older gay man who has watched so many people die, is riddled with guilt and PTSD; and a young man just finding himself, bright and full of hope.

How Garak looks at Bashir and sees everything the world has stripped from him: his ability to trust, his hope, his gentleness. How Garak has been forced to harden himself to survive. How he looks at all of Bashir's goodness and is terrified for for him. And how much of that is how I feel when I look at younger gays.

Anyway this is Garak.

☕️ Breakfast in 1994 ☕️ Just a chill morning at the staff kitchen in Fowl Manor 💜 It's been a while since I've drawn our dear Butler. The truth is @iesnoth's design is so perfect to me that I really struggle to come up with something that feels true to him and also like my own thing. It's still a bit of a work in progress but I do like this version :) Also even though the lighting is completely off, I'm still proud of the stained-glass window ✨ I've never really done intricate background details before, but I've developed the firm headcanon that Fowl Manor is overflowing with Art Nouveau/Art Déco architectural nods and so I just had to get out of my comfort zone.

one of the funniest things to me rn is the fact that i have (completely on accident) gotten my brother (who, importantly, is FIVE) really into Undertale. i could understand how i was able to drag him into gravity falls and the owl house, but he just Adores undertale. driving home from an outing as i'm doodling, and he just leans over to me and says "draw Mettaton". and when i finish doing so he says "now draw him the other way" (AKA his other form, Mettaton EX). so goofy

also whenever he leans over my shoulder to watch me play, whenever I'm in a battle, he'll start loudly taunting the monster (usually Asgore) right in my ear
