I'm not kidding when I say 'how many CDs is this?' when I'm making a thing.
My partner pointed out yesterday that I do kind of treat audio dramas like they're albums, which is definitely the reason I make so many short ones...it's definitely not that I have a short attention span for ideas.
Putting a CD into my car's CD player and getting glorious podcast audio will never not be a weirdly novel joy.
Currently Playing: Camlann
Next target: The Vesta Clinic.
Then? Who's to say.

WOW this is so freaking COOL
When we decided to make the cassettes I was absolutely not expecting multiple people to send me pictures and video of them being played through vintage cassette players (yes, multiple people, I wouldn't believe me either but genuinely) This is so awesome, my day has been made
Tumblr media
Managed to get my 1992 Fisher Price to play the Camlann cassette! Sooooo delighted with this purchase and the fact that I could revive an old friend to play it 🙈
This cassette player originally belonged to my sister, and has been in my family since about 1994, and sitting unused since about 2010. In case you’re curious, the last cassette played (still in the compartment) was a Doctor Who audiobook.
I’m having a great day 🙈😁
@camlannpod
@tincanaudio
Thanks for such an amazing album and cassette!!

For the past couple of weeks I've been making a fantasy concept album over on my twitch channel called The Warrens, a mix of dungeon synth, folk and my soundtrack work for shows like @camlannpod
Put another way for a very specific set of folks, it's a mix of my work on Pitcrawler and Upriver Downriver.
I'm having an absolute blast putting this project together, it's very rare for me to have a project that is just music, for myself, and I'm very grateful to my twitch viewers for giving me the space to make some.
If you want to join the fun, I'm streaming Mondays and Wednesdays over on the Tin Can Audio Twitch channel
see you there x

WE HAVE CASSETTE TAPES!
Yep, you read that right, you can now acquire Camlann's beautiful original soundtrack by @tincanaudio on cassette. It features some incredible art too - including a cover by @arianwells and graphic design and illustrations by Moira Daykin!
You can buy a cassette here from Bandcamp for just £9 (triads, get it?), and we are shipping worldwide!
There are only 100 of these cassettes, and Amber will be hand-numbering each one. They really are unique.
All proceeds raised from the sales will go towards making season 2, which is a thing we are still trying to do and will only be able to do with your help.
Keep the fires burning.

I'm so excited for The Tower and to see whats been cooking up as a new project/it's vibe! Are you going to be holding VA auditions like there were for Camlann or is the cast already set up?
Thank you! We are currently very busy! So the [Secret New Project] is all recorded and (mostly) sound designed, keep an eye out for updates about that soon.
For The Tower, we're making the final part of the series on a very tight budget so we're currently looking at making something with just the core cast.
We do have a lot of projects in the incubator and we're in the exciting position of having options for what we want to pursue in the future. As always, best place for news on casting calls is through the website, you can sign up to updates through the blog page: tincanaudio.co.uk/blog

Hey students, here’s a pro tip: do not write an email to your prof while you’re seriously sick.
Signed, a person who somehow came up with “dear hello, I am sick and not sure if I’ll be alive to come tomorrow and I’m sorry, best slutantions, [name]”.

Got into the Yakuza/Like A Dragon series recently and I can’t help but love this kooky eyepatch man’s commitment to “on sight” to the point I made art about it

Being a ranger I spend a lot of time alone in the wilderness for hours in the company of one of four co workers.
One such worker for the purpose of this post we shall refer to as Dave.
Dave is a very quiet man. He confesses that if conversation happens too quickly and for too long he gets tired so we often work in silence. He's very polite and good natured but it's obvious that he would happily live and work alone for the rest of his life given the option.
He's very much in the previous generation of ranger, a practical man in his fourties or fifties happy to be kept physically busy for a day and then be sent home with some pay. I had to show him how to use a work issued smart phone.
Meanwhile the rest of the team is made up of the current generation of rangers; openly nurodivergent queer women in their twenties or thirties who work this job because it's the only setting where we can vaguely look sane.
So Dave sticks out a bit. It's really nice when he opens up though because he's an impulsive individual when left to his own devices and has plenty of stories to tell if the mood takes him. I really like working with Dave.
Anyway, one day we've got a job that takes a three hour hike to get to and early on the topic of deer comes up.
I hadn't realised this was the first time we had discussed deer, but blatantly it was. Dave's entire demeanour changes, there's a bit of passion in his voice, but it's also hushed as if he's talking about something sacred.
"Deer are my favourite animal." He says.
I'm also eager to hear Dave talk about himself, so I encourage him to say more.
"I'd love to be a deer myself."
And more
"If a genie offered me the opportunity to become a deer I'd take it. I wouldn't even stop to ask what the price was."
And more
"Sometimes I feel like I'm a deer having a dream about being a human.*
And there I am, a long time commuter to the therian/otherkin community keeping up the encouraging face of someone being politely interested, knowing that this man is straight up a therian with no frame of reference.
And I decided that I wouldn't push the subject outside of the bounds of what Dave is comfortable with, I wouldn't try to teach him the terms "Therian" or "Otherkin" but absolutely I would talk with this man as if he's a deer.
And it's a bit magical really. He's an impulsive individual so I have to talk him out of some risky choices every so often and "this is why deer like you keep getting stuck in fences" has become this magical phrase that allows him to step down from a mistake with a bit of a smile on his face.
