alright I installed both legacy and UC today and loaded in my 20gb CC folder and my massive over decorated neighborhood. with UC I had a surprisingly stable game, not like the one in my memories. CAS worked fine, build/buy as well and live mode too. the neighborhood flashing pink day and night but it's okay once I enter to a household. with legacy the neighborhood is the same pink flashing mess, and I can't enter a household without crashing. rip.

Sims 2 Legacy edition or whatever

(rant: I never gave up hope in my absent years always having Sims 2 in the back of my mind, all my plans, everything I've always wanted to do but I could never because of flashing and crashing... AND I was praying in the last couple of days for the fix to finally come. But I read terrible news about this new legacy edition, and seems like nothing is really solved.🫠) question: I'm browsing thrugh all social media to read about people's experiences, but what I'm mostly interested in is heavily decorated neighborhoods and houses with lots of CC. How are they working in Legacy edition? If you have any experince in such matters please let me know, I'd be really thankful! 💜

Just a naive question...

I've just had a whole year of break from sims 2 with the hope if I come back later there will be some update on pink flashing and crashing... just the usual stuff.

Could someone please tell me, has anything happened in the last year worth mentioning?

BetterFest is in the city! 🎉🎊🎇🎠🎡🎢🎪 It's a huge event in Betterfield held in every year at the beginning of summer, kind of a celebration of the summer break. There's a lot of different sections of this two huge lot, maybe I'll share more later. This outdoor festival is one of our favourite things we designed with my best friend so far. 💜 Can't wait to see it fulled with simmies and mutes (and flashing in burning pink...).

Debugging Pink Flashing

So, skimming through the game’s executable, as one does, I JUST found this boolprop:

“verboseShaderValidation”

typing “boolprop verboseShaderValidation true” (without the quotes) into the console makes the game tell you what went wrong into the console when pink flashing happens:

(I forced pink flashing in the pic above via epic hacker skills, so it’s not really useful for research purposes)

Soo yeah, what I’m saying is, you could type “boolprop verboseShaderValidation true” into your userStartup.cheat, and whenever you get pink flashing, open the console, expand it by typing “x” if necessary, and contact me sending me whatever the console says, what you were doing, what pink flashed, etc.

Mayor Thomas' Summer Fair

It's the second summer since my game's plot kicked off proper, and I thought I'd share some pictures of the preparations being made for Mayor Thomas' Summer fair.

Mayor Thomas is rounding up some of the villagers to participate in the fair, and to sell produce, crafts and other handmade goods, made here in Cottage Hills. He's hoping the fair will attract visitors to the town, and will showcase the quality of the town's goods. If it goes well, maybe he'll do one every summer.

It wouldn’t be a proper medieval fantasy town without an open-air marketplace of some sort, and thus Sunday Market was born! 🥕🍅🍏

This thing is literally half neighborhood deco and half invisible fences so clipping is probably going to be a lottery, but it’s got one hell of an aesthetic going on so worth it(?).
