renarin is basically a textbook case of autism (and not even in the Asshole Savant way, which is nice), and so is jasnah. just as everyone immediately clocks renarin as having Weird Vibes which make him stand out as not like the people around him, everyone immediately notices jasnah... has Weird Vibes which make her stand out as not like the people around him. except the Weird Vibes are "perfect mask of being coldly logical which makes everyone think of her as not really being human or empathetic or emotional like Normal People". which she did to herself so people would actually respect her. great way to slowly destroy your sanity!

Cosmere Characters Eating M&Ms

Exactly what it says on the tin. [For the purposes of this list, I'm gonna ignore that Rosharan men don't eat sweets because I can.]

Szeth: Follows a complicated set of M&M-eating rules he invented as a child (you know, like yellow has to be bitten into sideways and dark brown must always be eaten with another color, etc.)

Renarin: Sorts the M&M's by color, eats them strategically until every color has the same number, and then eats them one by one in color order

Shallan: Insists that the mini M&Ms are better because she "feels like a mighty sea creature inhaling [whatever the Rosharan equivalent of "krill" is]

Rock: Insists peanut M&Ms are better because "crunchy"

Siri: Is adventurous: she wants to try all the different sorts of M&M's. Yes, even the weird caramel ones!

Vivenna: Does not see any reason not to just eat the classic ones? They're already good??

Rlain: Appreciates that this a proper Rosharn candy--it has a shell!

Tress: Likes M&M's because they're such a shareable snack.

Breeze: Tried the whole "wine and chocolate" thing with M&Ms. Frankly, wasn't a big fan.

TenSoon: Doesn't eat M&Ms--people kept yelling that chocolate is poisonous to dogs.

Lopen: Likes to tilt the bag back and pour them all directly into his mouth. He says it's a holdover from when he only had one arm. This may or may not be true.

Ann: Likes to toss M&M's in the air so that she can catch them in her mouth (no, she never catches them)

Elegy: Sadly, M&M's DO melt in the hands of a Charred.

How Cosmere Characters Would Text

As requested by @queenfishiethemagnificent :)

If Cosmere characters had both cell phones and the ability to text, here's how I think each one would approach it.

1. Dalinar

Let's just say that, once he learns to write, Dalinar texts like Captain Holt from Brooklyn-99.

Dalinar: Dear Navani Kholin, Thank you for contacting me to inquire about dinner. I would suggest that we meet at 7 this evening to dine. Please reply at your convenience to let me know whether or not this plan seems suitable. I would be happy to consider alternatives. Sincerely, your husband, Dalinar Kholin. Navani: 7 is good. how long did that take you to write? Dalinar: Dear Navani Kholin, It took me two hours. Sincerely, Dalinar Kholin

2. Kelsier

No matter the content of his text, Kelsier always puts "lol" at the end, just to make sure the Lord Ruler doesn't win.

Kelsier: Just killed some nobles, lol. ... Kelsier: Ran out of atium. Nearly died. lol. ... Kelsier: Sometimes I think the doom of the word is inevitable Kelsier: lol

3. Vasher

Always ends texts with a period. Is he just old or is he expressing his supreme displeasure? Nobody knows for sure.

Kadash: Kholin boys coming for sword training tomorrow Vasher: Ok. Kadash: ...Problem with that? Vasher: No. Kadash: ...Are you sure??

4. Steris

In a universe where Era 2 Mistborn had texting, Steris would have put texting rules into the marriage contract.

Wax: Had a good time tonight. Steris: Per contract, you must wait 2 days before texting after a date. Wax: But I had a good time. Wax: I miss you. Steris: Double texting too??

5. Sarene

Normally, Sarene texts hardly at all. ...Except with Raoden, with whom she texts constantly while they're courting long-distance.

Raoden: Saw a snail today. Effervescent. Sarene: ...I still love you. Raoden: 💕

6. Rlain

Always uses careful emoji placement to convey tone.

Rlain: Helped out in the Urithiru gardens today. 🌸😎 Rlain: Forgot how tall I am in warform. Hit my head on a doorframe again. 🤦🏾🤡 Rlain: You got this!! 💪👍🫶

7. Blushweaver

At least with Lightsong, she mostly uses texting to flirt.

Blushweaver: U up? Blushweaver: 🍆💦? Blushweaver: 🍑!!

8. Vin

Vin is so brave that she leaves "read" receipts on. ...And she doesn't always realize how brutal of a weapon that is.

Spook: I like you. Vin: [Read at 11:07pm] Spook: ... Spook: Ouch.

9. Tress

Has a whole texting language that only makes sense to Charlie.

Tress: 🧤🧤 Charlie: 😍 Tress: 🥰 Ann [squinting to read over Tress's shoulder] What are you two TALKING about?

10. Adolin

Like all good Vorin men, Adolin texts only in emojis.

Adolin (aloud): [heavy sigh] I think Janala is mad at me again. Renarin: Why is she mad? Adolin: I don't know! She's at a wine house right now, and I thought I could pick her up from there, so I texted and asked, "Would it be okay if we left the wine house together?" Renarin: Let me see. Adolin: [shows phone] Adolin: 🥂👉👌? Janala: 🐷! Renarin: ...Maybe men do need to learn how to write...

I hope in Ghostbloods we see bronze allomnacy used more. I don't know if this is true or a theory of mine, but I believe burning it doesn't just allow you to hear allomantic pulses but investiture pulses. I wanna see a Seeker hear a new pulse to come upon a world hopper I think that would be really cool.

Another idea but much longer of a shot is that maybe different forms of investitures trigger different senses like maybe they'll be able to smell stormlight or see the breaths controlling something.
