You’ve e given me the opportunity to be right. So I will be. My rtc hyperfixation is LONG gone but I WILL rant abt this. In the near beginning of the show, Karnak says, and I quote “tonight i speak of 6 teenagers, robbed of their individuality, in a mass tragedy. LUMPED together as ‘our six saints’ by the national media. And my part of the story, i read all the children’s fortunes. I felt their hopes, thoughts, dreams….” <- i recited this from memory, the hyperfixation lasted months. But note here they were “LUMPED” together and “ROBBED” of their individuality. Every character gets their moment, that’s part of the point of this, it’s like in mass tragedies, you rarely hear the name of the victim, or of them as a PERSON. “Tonight I give them the chance to express not what they were perceived to be, but what they dreamt they were” the beautiful thing about this musical is how it fully engrossed you into the lives and inner workings of each character, the point of this is for them to learn who they are as people, to gain- or regain (or retell) their individuality. Their lives as people. Being from a small small town (and going to a catholic school, wearing the same clothes as everyone else) strips you of your life and pride. He is giving them that, they couldn’t even get it in their deaths.

Now that brings me to fall fair. In fall fair, they each get their own moment to shine. What I love about the parts they sing together, it shows that this has connected them all in a way. But they each get something to say about how they feel. You’ve obviously heard Fall Fair so I’d doubt I’d need to bring up the lyrics. But when ocean is letting out her inner Karen and is like “THAT CRUSTY CARNY CLEARLY DRUNK, SUE THAT FAIR FOR EVERYTHING THEYVE GOT”, and Noel’s reply, and Constance’s quip about her search history. The song feels intentional, like it matters. Because at this point they’re dead, they are on the stage that Karnak has set for them, it is time for them to tell their story. And of course at times they are all harmonious, but its in the times that matter. Even if it’s something funny like “Algebra Twelve, Kiss my Ass” or the line “What a lovely theme”, “life is just a dream”, “you don’t know up from down, and you feel a little strange from all that spinning round…” it’s shared experience. It’s an INTRODUCTION song, it shows you alot of characters before the show truly starts.

(i can go on a whole side tangent on how that makes Jane doe more tragic, but this is already long) but, they didn’t know each other before this. (Yes Ocean and Constance were besties but more on that layer) they sing together during the beginning of fall fair, during the actual fair. Ofc they would, they get lumped together during that, and when they sing about their deaths “and we’ve all been spinning!”, it’s all their reactions, their Grief, who they are as people, they unite when they relate to one another. Which is why Jane’s “Aaaaaa”‘a are SO important to me, and Ik Ricky doesn’t sing for that song and I’m not disabled so listen to disabled people on that, but this applies to him too!!

now onto… Uranium Suite.. the one I’m watching is from Mccarter Theatre, it’s the first time I heard the song, and I DO NOT support what Mccarter did. i can give it one thing, the choreography is SO akin to something an actual school choir would do. It’s loud and obnoxious, and so real. (I can imagine Ocean making it all herself.) this song makes the musical feel like the town is their ONLY uniting factor, their only identity. They don’t get that individuality in this song, it’s just… a song. Basically always in sync… OK THE ROCK DURING THE ROUND AND ROUND IS FUCKING COOL. They keep repeating uranium tho, idk it gives the whole show a different vibe. “Did we finally leave our town??”. Now I DO think it’s cool that all of them hated their town. (I’m going based off of memory im not gonna watch the same musical twice from different productions to reply to a tumblr post.. not again.) but, it’s just never been a very defining thing for them. The LAST thing Karnak wanted was for something to define their identity. The deaths United them (karnak United them), but it’s through their personalities and their actions they truly came to terms with not only their deaths, but with their relationships with each other. Mischa and Noel gathered a beautiful friendship, Ocean thought Mischa was just a gangster, but no, he’s a lover and almost a poet. Which really intrigued me in fall fair, how during the beginning of the song, Mischa and Noel walked up TOGETHER. I believe it was during “the rabbit comes and then he disappears!”

I DO HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY ABT JANE AND RICKY. Ricky can’t speak, and that’s incredibly alienating, and he can communicate but I doubt anyone had ever tried, so him not speaking during the portion of the song while they’re dead, just kinda hurts me. This major thing just happened, a uniting factor that ties them all together,,, but he can’t express that. (And I’m not saying he NEEDED to speak in order to get his individuality, there are plenty of ways that Ricky could’ve gotten his thoughts out there) - im just saying that in death, he was finally listened to. And in like the “main” RTC production- we all know the one- Ricky is the one who hears Jane’s riff (or whatever it’s called). Ricky is apart of the little choir family, he’s experienced everything but still is alienated. Then there’s Jane, who, given Karnak’s intentions, is the saddest. She has no persons to be separated from, and can’t remember the marginalized group she’s even supposed to be apart of. She remembers her death. And that’s all.

AND THATS WHY URANIUM SUITE SHOULD NEVER BE ON EQUAL PLAYING GROUNDS WITH FALL FAIR

unpopular RtC opinion apparently: I like Uranium Suite

not more than Fall Fair Suite, or any other intro song, but like…It’s good? Easily as good as the others and why do people hate it so much?

Okay but like Chucky being scared to ACTUALLY die for good is actually such a breath of fresh air to me. The thing is he still has that incompletion anxiety so he wants to make sure he finishes the job before he’s gone for good

Jake is definitely the kind of person who gets upset with TV shows. Orange is the New Black, Shameless, Criminal Minds, Grey's Anatomy, y'know shows like that that really gets under your skin. The others definitely have a blast listening to him rant and usually end up agreeing with him by the end of it. Sometimes, Lexi would even join in on his rant, which would end to two very worked up individuals.

THERE IS. a website. that takes 3D models with seams and pulls it apart to make a plushie pattern and informs you where things need to be edited or darts added for the best effect. and then it lets you scale it and print off your pattern. and I want to lose my MIND because I've lost steam halfway through so many plushie patterns in the mind numbing in betweens of unwrapping, copying all of the meshes down as pieces, transferring those, testing them, then finding obvious tweaks... like... this would eradicate 99% of my trial and error workflow for 3D models to plushies & MAYBE ILL FINALLY FINISH SCREAMTAIL...

Nadine is a Caregiver/Playmate!

Lexy thinks she’s just a caregiver for a long time, till season 2. Turns out she trauma regresses and Nadine is (yes, is, she’s still alive❗️) her cg,,, idk what Nadine would go by, but she definitely steals stuffed animals and crayons and little trinkets for Lexy!!!! (And definitely a really fun playmate)

Lexy is a Flip! As a Caregiver, Lexy would go by “Big Sis”!!!! Or a babysitter!!! She’s such a sweetheart, bed time stories and lullabies 100%. She’d definitely not be the BEST at comforting you, but she’d try her best. A monster under your bed? Instead of sweet nothings she’d grab a baseball bat. She regresses to like… 3-6?💥

ok so in one episode, Nadine is like “Yeah! I’m the god mother, Good Chucky is the baby, Jake and Devon are the dads!!” 👁️👁️ i was so normal when I heard this i swear!! I think Lexy was so upset when they fought bc her home life is unstable and she didn’t want her “Dada’s” to fight 🥺🤧. I think Jake is a Kid regressor, slightly older kid. Maybe 8/9!! Devon is a StoryTeller caregiver!!!! With him doing podcasts and all.
