Lockpicks? 馃憖
Genuinely think that's very interesting. Makes me wonder if I should maybe add them to my bag too. Have you ever had to use them?
Honestly, I just put the lockpicks into the post to see if anyone would catch them. Now that I've had the idea, though, I really should get some. What I do actually have in my bag are a couple of Small Witchy Tools, to whit: copal and sage incense stick, an earring that I use as a kind of pendulum/dowsing rod, a couple of small religious medals (Archangel Raphael, Archangel Gabriel, an evil eye) for repelling negativity...look, I visit a lot of antique stores and some of the things I buy are Haunted As Fuck. Better safe than sorry.
Ask me anything! :-)

btw it is sexy and cool to uplift and admire people who have skills you wish you had without using their ability as a stick to beat yourself with. even and especially if you are jealous of them.
#yes this#the human condition#it's so much more fun to watch a person with a different skillset and try to learn from them than it is to beat yourself up

Ask game for people in their 30's: 11, 25 and 55?
11. What's something you saved up for and then regretted buying?
After careful thought, it would be my serging machine, to finish the edges of fabric, because the thing is an absolute bitch to re-thread.
25. Favorite old person activity?
Razzing the youths. It's indecently fun to be say things like "when I was your age we didn't have streaming". At the same time, I really enjoy being an Outrageous Old Lady (I'm 39, lol) to show kids that you really do have more fun as an adult.
55. Favorite high-effort meal that you make?
Bold of you to presume I put effort into cooking. ;-) But I make excellent chicken tacos from scratch.
Ask me anything is open!

Questions ending in 9 for the ask meme!
9. What's your emotional support craft?
Sewing, which is a very expensive hobby. I make a lot of my own clothes, particularly blouses and dresses in vintage '30s and '40s patterns.
19. What's your go-to tape?
Scotch
29. What's your go-to holiday card format?
In the event that I actually send cards, I like traditional greeting cards themed to the season--but they have to fit my style, aesthetic, and personality.
39. What little treat do you get whenever you run errands?
Coffee, usually an iced latte when its hot and a hot latte when it's not.
49. Do you bring a bag with you everywhere you go?
Yes! And in it are: my notebook, a hand fan, my wallet, my keys, my little bag full of stuff (pens, lipstick, hand lotion, lockpicks, compact mirror), and a book if I know I'm going to need one.
59. If you died and your ghost was stuck in the outfit you're wearing right now for the rest of time, would you be happy with it?
I'm wearing black camisole pajamas and a black floral silk robe I picked up in Chinatown the last time I went up to San Francisco, so I'd be fine, but I'd be annoyed that anyone could see me in my shorts (which are too short).
69. What are you looking forward to next week?
So I have this really cool new job at a big historic estate, and I love it so much, so I'm looking forward to spending my days there. I get to spend my whole day walking in the gardens and talking to visitors about history, so they will tear this job from my cold, dead hands. :-)
Ask me anything is open!

i don鈥檛 think people understand how much of life is grief. not just people dying, but losing the version of yourself you thought you鈥檇 become. grieving the city you had to leave. the friends you lost not in argument, but in silence. the summer that will never come back. the feeling that maybe you peaked at 12 when you were reading books under the covers and believing in forever

FUN FACT:
So you know how the Wilhelm Scream is in a ton of films as a soundtrack in-joke? It was popularized by Ben Burtt, who was a sound editor on a ton of ton of Lucas films, like all the Star Wars and Indiana Jones films.
Well, he cameos in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. That's him there. His only screen time is getting knocked over a rail, and he does an imitation of the Wilhelm scream as he does it.
