Since fleshing out my headcanons for Thirteen's full backstory a few months ago, I have been haunted by the image of twelve-year-old Remy, alone and grieving after her mom's funeral.

So sometimes Sirius catches himself refer to Regulus as “James’ boyfriend” in his head, and Regulus sometimes catches himself refer to Sirius as “James’ bestfriend” in his head. Neither knows what to do, but they both feel horrible, because their brother has become a stranger.
