james herondale is so special and dear to my heart for many reasons but mostly because i get him. i relate to him so much, on so many levels, so i got very attached to him very quickly, like way back in the day when nothing but shadows first came out. i understand him on a very personal level and i really do love him dearly.

Ever see a picture from an old childhood show you used to watch and be like “huh. This is way weirder than I remember.” That’s how I felt the other day when my little brother decided to rewatch “Kickin It”… I was overwhelmed with equal parts nostalgia and weirdness. It felt like a fever dream and at the same time I was loving looking back at something I used to love.

My brother randomly decided to agree to watch Supernatural with me, and now we’ve almost finished season one. We recently watched “Faith” (1x12) and we watched the scene where Dean is all like “I’m dying and there’s nothing you can do to stop it.” And Sam just replies “Watch me.” And I love that line so much because I feel like it really encapsulates Sam as a character. Sam is told again and again that something is impossible or can’t be done, and EVERY SINGLE TIME he does it! He was told he couldn’t overpower Lucifer and get him in the cage, and that’s exactly what he did. He’s told that it’s impossible to cure the Mark of Cain, and what does he do? He cures it. I just… Sam is so determined and I admire his dedication and perseverance.

I’m rereading ADSOM, and I forgot how much I love Kell. I love all the characters, but I think Kell might be my favorite. He acts like he’s the grumpiest guy in the world, and yet he is constantly the one who goes out of his way to show kindness. I just love him so much, and every time I read this series I’m reminded of that.

So I’ve been obsessively listening to The Lightning Thief Musical since the show started coming out and I’ve listened to it before and I’ve always loved it, but something about watching Walker’s Percy praying to his mom, and then listening to “Good Kid” it just made my heart so sad! I’ve always loved “Good Kid” it’s so beautiful and such a great interpretation of everything Percy is feeling at that point. And then you add in the amazing “Momma’s Boy” energy Walker’s got going on and I just burst into tears.
