While I was away for the weekend, the Ieyasu and Mitsunari Revoltechs I’ve been coveting for years arrived…. Viva Amazon Japan!! Mitsunari-kun was around 100€ cheaper than if I’d have ordered him from Finland…

Reasons to ship KenKasu

Kasuga is obviously madly in love with Kenshin 

seriously have you seen how she acts towards Kenshin?

Kenshin’s love is a bit more subtle but still adores her, and it’s quite easily picked up on throughout the various SenBasa media- especially evident in the stage plays, where the two have a “couple off” with Toshiie and Matsu

given Kenshin’s gender (the creators refuse to say whether Kenshin is a man or woman) it can be any sort of ship you want. Can be traditional het, can be sapphic/lesbian, can even be nb and a woman. That’s without going into complete-headcanons regarding Kasuga’s gender of course.

in the anime Kenshin flat out overrode Kasuga’s role as bodyguard to shield her from Nouhime’s assault. I mean. Kasuga’s job is to protect Kenshin, and Kenshin was like “nope, I love this woman too much, throwin’ her out of the way and taking those spicy bullets”

they would raise wonderful children together (conjecture, but, with Kenshin’s upright moral character and Kasuga’s love, they really would)

it’s been stated that Kasuga can’t sleep comfortably unless she’s in Kenshin’s arms – so we know they literally sleep in the same bed together

Keiji ships them together, and we know that boy’s got a good head on his shoulders

then there’s Kasuga’s main story ending in Sumeragi where Shingen scolds Kenshin for making Kasuga worry (Kasuga though Kenshin died and ran off to avenge her lord before Kenshin could be properly checked out; at least that’s how I understood it); and then Kasuga flying tackles Kenshin and they cuddle on the floor while Shingen watches with a big ol’ grin – so it seems like Shingen supports it too

even Sasuke has said he recognizes the relationship they share and feels happy for Kasuga- but ; protective much?

so that’s THREE cool guys who support it

Kenshin thinks about taking up both Motochika and Sorin’s offers to go on a cruise or go to Xaviland– with Kasuga

i could go on and i will if you ask me to but

i think this is sufficient don’t wanna talk y’alls ears off~

If you ever need a reason to watch senbasa remember when Hideyoshi didn’t have a navy so to attack the pirates he punched the ocean so hard all the water flew away and Motochika was just like ‘lol fuckin syke my boat has legs’

OK so in actual 2015 I told @letterblade that I would translate Rikyuu’s route from Senbasa Sumeragi for her and never let it be said that I didn’t, technically, fulfill a promise

This may the single weirdest thing I have ever translated but I think at this point the places where it doesn’t make sense are faithfully representing the lack of sense of the source

#oh there was a really good thing in uh....the 2 stage play where they interacted#hanbei and kasuga had kasuga's 2 route where he tells her not to die for her lord but to live for him#and then when she's fighting mitsunari she tells him of her new resolve and he's like ????????#WHY WOULDN'T YOU DIE ????????#the 2 stage play is a hidden gem tbh like it's cheesy as hell but also beautiful in every way#ANYWAY yes this is a good...conjunction of issues
