Whenever I feel like hope is lost, I google "tarantula saved from burning building" and read all the stories about firefighters rescuing one of the world's most hated animals because they're someone's pet and it doesn't matter if you're scared of spiders or think they're gross, their lives have worth and they deserve to live just as much as any other pet

I finished my first commissioned invertebrate sculpture recently -- a female Scolopendra subspinipes, also known as a Malaysian jewel centipede, guarding her clutch of eggs! She was quite the challenge, boasting 22 body segments and 44 legs in total, but the finished product was absolutely worth the work.

I didn't get a super professional photo of the bottom of the piece but I looooove how the legs wrap around it:
