Restless Kratts Page 1

uhhh first ever Wild Kratts fanfic so enjoy! this first page is just to see if you guys want me to write more

The sun shines brightly in the open, scrubby Flatwoods. Squirrels are scurrying, birds are chirping, and the Kratt brothers are resting peacefully in their tree hammocks. 

Zzzzzz…

A gentle breeze rustles the tree. Chris twitches slightly, but the disturbance is not enough to break his slumber. A curious little sparrow ambles across Martin’s face, tenderly pecking at his hair. Martin, still asleep, shoos it away with his hand. Attempting to find a new landing spot, the little sparrow clings to the branch holding up the hammock.

Across the branch it walks, as cautiously as a circus tightrope walker, observing the sleeping Kratt as he sways back and forth in his lovely blue hammock.

All of a sudden, a thunderous noise strikes nearby. The sparrow yelps, leaps just a little too far back, and falls right off the ledge. Perhaps a stray bolt of lightning? 

“What did I say about being quiet?!” a whiny, high-pitched voice exclaims. 

Guess not. 

“They’re gonna hear us if this keeps up!” he scolds his Zachbots quietly and approaches the tree. 

“Aww, look how peaceful they look before I steal all of their inventions... Ha ha ha!”

He rubs his grubby little hands together. He turns around and walks towards the Tortuga. But then, he comes to a halt and realizes something.

“But, what if they wake up?” he questions. “Those Wild Ratts will just stop me like they always do. I’ll be left with nothing but two broken Zachbots.” He turns around and stares at them for a while.

“What to do, what to do?” He paces back and forth, thinking. 

“Have any ideas?" he asks his Zachbot desperately.

The Zachbot nods and pulls out an ice cream cone from its arm. 

“Useful ideas,” he groans. He snatches the cone from the robot. He ponders while eating his delicious treat. 

As if the ice cream helped, he says, “I've got an idea! Zachbots, gently pick up the ‘Blue Ratt’ and bring him to the jet. Don't mess this up!”

He uttered that last line a bit too loud, waking Martin up.

“Just five more minutes, Chris...” he mumbles. With hand gestures, Zach instructs the bot to rock Martin back to sleep. It sways him back and forth slowly and precisely.

It works! 

He sighs with relief.

“Let's go,” Zach says softly. So quickly and quietly, he climbs onto the second Zachbot and returns to his plane.
